You see a resemblance only because you are a racist tw@t. There is very little similarity to their play other than the duties of the position.

Gosh, even after all this time you are still one of the worst posters here.

No matter how much preparation teams go through to lock down a player you just can't contain someone who has the ability to explode into the lane whenever theres a slight opening, hes got all star potential + a level head and steady mentality hes going to go places

The thing is, if he keeps working hard on his game I can see him putting up all star numbers at his peak. Like when you watch him you can see his flaws, like the way he kind of looks nervous on the court and discordant sometimes, but give it a year or 2 of hard work and he's an allstar.

I thought I was the only one that noticed :oldlol:

Gotta give the kid his props though, he's been the sole and only bright spot for this dismal Knicks season.

Granted, it's only been a week, and teams are probably confused as ****. I guarantee he wasn't even on team's scouting reports before last week. His production will undoubtedly decrease, but if he can maintain his command on the offense the way he has, and continue to execute that pick and roll like a real point guard should, then the Knicks might have themselves something real special.

For the record:

Melo > Lin

But

Lin's success = Knicks success

And as the last season and a half has shown, Melo's "success" hasn't translated much Knick success. I hope when he comes back he and D'Antoni continue to let Lin run the offense. That one on one ****ing bull was getting old, fast.

Yao was different. We had over a year of predictions and hating and fans expecting big things and yousendit videos(pre youtube) of workouts and all.

Everyone was on record. So it was a lot of "I told you so!" no matter what he did. The gif of him being crossed up by marbury was all over the place. But he got his love after that slow start. The Amare vs Yao ROY debate felt endless.

I still remember angry ass Rocket fans when someone would say Amare should win. Racist claims all over. It wasnt all at once though like Lin.

I will say we had a lot of chinese rocket fans out of the blue.

he's a better shooter than Allen if we're just doing open spot ups. really. novak is a machine. obviously ray is better at getting his shot off and moving without the ball and actually has some game outside of shooting. but novak is a better shooter.
Oh god, and you said you didn't want to sound homerish.

did ISH exist back then?

ISH was never created. It has always been.

man, have you seen novak? he is unbelievable. obviously ray allen is the better player, more prolific shooter, more prolific shooter, yada yada yada, but novak is as good as it gets at shooting. Jeff Van Gundy coached him in Houston and actually said he thinks he's the best shooter in the NBA during one of the broadcasts, so I'm not just pulling nonsense out of my ass.

i'd be really interested to see the #'s on his jersey sales. his jersey has to be flying off the shelves right now. you have a rabid NY fan base and he'll draw out the asian market there. then you have the billions in china and let's face it, the other billions of asians on earth. that's a huge market

So how the hell did this kid get overlooked in the first place?

He was really good all along apparently...

here's a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvkXmMcGfLo&feature=fvst

He won the Cali State championship from what I understand and got overlooked by all the basketball schools, and that's why he went to Harvard, so he may actually not even be all that smart (not saying he's stupid,) but he went to harvard based on his basketball skills... People were just being prejudice as **** I guess.

With Chandler and Novak getting passes from J Lin, i could see some similarity from CP3/Hornets circa 2008 in chemistry. J Lin is no CP3 of course but Paul ran the pick and pop with David West and PNR (dunk) with Chandler.

Lin could be that playmaker for those 2 guys.

defenders are going to start always going under screens to test his jumper. i don't see him scoring 20+ often once teams are able to scout him. they're also going to start hedging hard to try to disturb any PNR's. i wouldn't be surprised to see bigs start meeting him near the 3 point line once it looks like a PNR is developing. that will test his ball handling

that said, he's played PG for NY 10x better than anybody else and the spacing is much improved so the assists could stick. his height is a big plus as he can see over the D and take good angles

except Lin is good at basketball whereas I'm 90% sure that some of my friends have better arms than Tebow.
Also, Lin brings it throughout the game whereas Tebow only shows up in the 4th quarter.

I disagree, when Amare and Melo come back, teams will have no reason to try to game plan against Lin, he will be third option, if they focus on shutting down Lin Melo and Amare will eat them alive.

Does anyone know will the Chinese like him even though he's Taiwanese?

I agree. Lin is gonna be the starting PG for New York for awhile. He doesn't even have to put up 20+ points anymore either once Melo and Amare are back. His assists will go up though. Only way he gets demoted if he starts playing selfishly. I don't see that happening.

I don't know about people in China but Lin is getting heavy support from the Asian-American fans here in the States. I think people here sees him as Asian more than Taiwanese or Chinese.

Jeremy Lin is steadily becoming a force to be reckoned with.

First he exploded onto the basketball scene as one of the great underdog stories.

Then his threads got merged. Whatever next?

Evolving into an all consuming super-being where mankind is amalgamated into one state of consciousness; Jeremy Lin.

It's like he knows...

Not worried about that. Chandler and Amare are almost guranteed a dunk in that scenario as they are both among the quickest and athletic at their positions. Even with Mello, you are giving too much space to try that. JLin's penetration is based on his fist step and hesitation step, both of which are very deceptive. He is also insistent on getting to the paint and working to get into a seam. He has good habits like keeping his dribble and head up and D'Antoni will compliment those habits with his playbook.

Curious as to how his left hand game is. The speed of playoffs might freak him a bit. And he won't find much space the first year or until he makes good on his jump shot.

and that deception comes from no one having seen him play before lol
