Linsanity might one day ascend to Kobe status, but he still has a ways to go.

wat did he say at the end?
Not sure why he is trying to belittle Jeremy, maybe he's annoyed with how much attention Jeremy + Knicks have been getting.

Kobe has to know what has been going on with Lin. He just brushed it off. Maybe in his standards what he has done isn't news worthy.

I don't know who Lin is either. Not sure why everyone's going bananas over some bench player that has a couple good games after years of being invisible.

If Kobe is being serious about not knowing what Lin is doing, I'm disappointed. That just shows that KB24 doesn't pay much attention to his competition. Shame, Kobe, shame...

Nobody expects him to watch every game, you just hear from word of mouth, sports news, tv, etc. He's all over the place and you're telling me Kobe didn't hear a thing?

Yes it is only 3 games but maybe you don't even realize how much attention Jeremy's been getting. Go on NBA.com who is there? Jeremy, Go on sports.yahoo.com/nba who is there? Jeremy Go on espn.go.com/nba/ who is there? You guessed it, Jeremy.
Youtube video of Jeremy crossing John Wall, almost 1.5 million views already.
Twitter everybody's tweeting about him especially Spike.
His facebook fan page went from ~50,000 to +150,000.
Fantasy basketball league went from 0% owned to 99.6% owned
I don't have any tv channels that show NBA or NBA news regularly, but I'm sure it is no different.
If insidehoops is telling the truth (and I don't see why he would lie about it) about Metta wanting his son to be like Jeremy, I'm sure he has brought up Jeremy's latest accomplishments in the locker room.

He's obviously heard of him, but Kobe doesn't go on NBA.com, yahoo, espn or youtube. The guy is traveling everyday , training, working out etc. He doesn't have as much time as you think to be looking up NBA videos / news...

Yes I know he probably doesn't visit websites but I said on tv it's probably no different.
Lots of players around the league watch games on their off days or even before their own games I don't see it being any different for Kobe.

I would agree with you if it weren't for the Lakers playing the Knicks tonight. Elite players should be putting in the dedication to gameplan. If Kobe honestly doesn't know what Lin has been doing the last few games, then Kobe is slacking in the preparation department. And since Kobe usually seems dedicated and prepared, I'm leaning more towards this being him arrogant (kind of reminiscent of the "who is this guy?" statements towards Raja Bell).

I agree with you there, he probably didn't know much about him beforehand but seeing as they play the Knicks today, he learned about Lin but downplay'd it anyways.

The dude's going through a huge divorce and is on a long roadtrip in a condensed schedule with a troubled team. He's got a lot on his plate so I'm actually not too surprised that he hasn't been following Lin's last 3 games. This isn't a big deal.

The thing that cracks me up the most is this:
[Asked again about Lin] "I don't even know what the [fudge] is going on. What the [fudge] is going on? Who is this kid? I've heard about him and stuff like that, but what's he been doing? Is he getting like triple doubles or some [stuff]? He's averaging 28 and eight? No [stuff]. If he's playing well, I'll just have to deal with him."
[Would he consider guarding Lin?] "Jesus Christ. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

Kobe never even said he didn't know who Jeremy Lin is. He plays in the west coast, he doesn't have time to know what every team in the league is doing. By the way, every PG tends to have career highs against the likes of Fisher and Blake. We have had the elite ones do it, the scrubs do it. It is what it is. Anyways, glad this is the last we have to hear of this nonsense.
If you don't love what Lin is doing you are a sad, miserable person. Just go kill yourself.

no matter who you are scoring 38 on 50%+ shooting is impressive.

I was more impressed with what he did against Wall.
story doesnt get anymore unbelievable. Undrafted asian dude from harvard who was warming the bench last year and didnt even have a damn team in the beginning of the season just torched up kobe and the lakers with 38.

Lin was torching all the Lakers perimeter players, Blake, Fisher, Kobe, Barnes, Lin even torched Gasol.

What Lin is doing? This is the first and probably last game of Jeremy Lin I've seen. He's not someone who's on my radar unless his team is playing the Lakers. He played great tonight, as most PGs tend to do against Fisher and Blake. It's just that most Lakers players and their fans don't really watch every Knicks game to know "what he's doing"...not sure why that's so difficult to comprehend for the imbeciles like you.

If it is an underdog story, good for him. As I said, he played great tonight but I still don't know anything about him. I watch the Knicks twice a year, when they play the Lakers...that's as far as my interest in them goes. I don't see how that's being negative, that's just being honest. That was fun to watch. Lin seems like a good guy and you can tell he's well-liked by teammates and fans. I'm not sure he'll be able to keep putting up these types of numbers, but he does seem to bring intangibles to the Knicks that they've sorely been lacking.
