Oldboy is excellent.
Martyrs just came to mind as well. I guess one can consider it a horror/revenge movie.

Does Shawshank Redemption count?
How is that a revenge movie? Yeah he owns the warden in the end but at what cost? Getting gang raped in prison, getting his ass kicked, thrown in a dark room for months. There is no way to get revenge for that.

Now some good revenge is in Breaking Bad. Gus ends up getting the old mans sons killed in a shoot out by tipping off Hank. Then he taunts the old man after he kills all his drug cartel family. Imagine some dude telling you to your face he killed your whole family and you have to just sit there and do nothing about it.

I Spit On Your Grave.
The original from the 70s. Can't beat those gritty 70s rape and revenge exploitation flicks for revenge movies imo.

A Few Dollars More deserves a mention for Leone, it's my favourite from him even more than good, bad, ugly and Once Upon a Time mentioned above... mostly because those two are just a little too long. plus the theme song is absolutely masterful (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtblCZQXRsA), not that that counts for much in a strict leonexleone comparison. but i digress
and since the only other tarantino revenge flick has yet to be mentioned, i'll do it that much deserved service... these c*nts and nothin to f*ck wit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW1aHS0KFRc)
i've been making phonetic spelling errors all over the place lately, not bothering to check through my posts... and afterwards scrolling through the same thread i find shit like mixing up "aint"/"and" or "heard"/"herd". something isn't right.

Count of Monte Cristo, but more especially in the book, the revenge he wreaks on his enemies and their families is just too well planned, fitting and epic. Greatest revenge ever taken was taken by Edmund Dantes:bowdown:

I like Count of Monte Cristo as well. Very well done.
I'm not sure if this falls into the "revenge" category but Law Abiding Citizen would be my vote. Revenge on the justice system.

Count de Monte Cristo is a great pick.
Actually my top one would be Sleepers.

Gotta go with the Count as one of the best revenge movies I've seen.
Road to Perdition as well even though the acting wasn't the best.

I Saw The Devil
That is probably right behind Oldboy for me.
This is what comes to mind:
1. Oldboy
2. I Saw the Devil
3. Kill Bill
Count of Monte Cristo also is up there, but even though the revenge is an all time classic, the movie just isn't as exciting as the above movies to me (but still great in its own right).

The Crow was fun in its time, but it didn't age well IMO. I tried re-watching it last year and couldn't finish it.

3. Kill-Bill
4. I saw the Devil
5. Unforgiven
6. Ong-Bak

a film that I think kill bill paid homage to which may be one of the earliest example of the wronged woman exacting revenge archetype is Lady Snowblood which is a pretty gritty and satisfying revenge flick
also sympathy for lady vengeance and the sequels are good
Dead man's shoes.... just saw it... and i have to agree... best revenge movie ever... can not explain, you just have to watch it... i saw the trailer at first and was like "oh please, this b-movie looking british movie?? these ISHiots must be kidding with me".... then i forced myself to watch at least 20-30 mins of the movie and was stuck... blown away...
Jack Frost (the horror movie) 3/10

It's not necessarily a revenge flick, more of a "this society sucks so let's clean it up" kinda deal.
But God Bless America's seriously fun. Just came out, Bobcat Goldthwait made it. Freddie Rumsen from Mad Men's the lead. I don't know how old the female co-lead is, 19ish I assume, but she was pretty impressive considering I'd never heard of her before. Freddie goes on a killing rampage killing guys that double park and make fun of the disillusioned on American Idol, that kinda stuff.

Good point. It's not like The Fugitive which is basically timeless (if you really consider it to be a "revenge" flick - which I do, personally).
Some others mentioned Man on Fire; I'd say that's a pretty solid choice.
