If you're including consistancy I don't see how you put Paul ahead of guy like Westbrook, Rondo, Nash, Bosh, etc. Seems like people always judge Paul by his best games only and ignore the rest. Probably because he only shows up to games that are televised. He just doesn't put the effort in vs the Wizards and Cavs of the league for me to include him in the top 15. Top 15 players respect the game and even Lebron you don't see him take the night off so to speak just because they are playing a bad team.

I wanted to put Westbrook but you're exactly right. Paul's best games automatically elevate to top 10 for me, its a shame I know.

This is an excellent list if you're factoring in Rose's injuries. I'm not a big Lebron fan but I have to admit he's always been pretty good for 3/4 of the regular season.

2. Kobe Bryant
3. Kevin Durant
4. Derrick Rose
5. Steve Nash (only reason most of you guys aren't including him is because he plays on a terrible team)
6. Dwight Howard (so many 20-20 games already! Damn!)
7. Dwyane Wade (came back from that injury strong)
8. Russell Westbrook
9. Kevin Love
10. Jeremy Lin

Maybe it's not fair to place Lin in the top 10, but he's been playing at a top 5 level. Only reason he's not higher than 10 is because he just started. If he can keep it up for a few more games, he'll easily surpass most of the guys on the top 10 list.

If Lin performs like he has been for an entire month, which would be impressive given the condensed season. I would definitely move him into a Top 10 player.... but only if he's able to keep up what he's been doing in the past 5 games. The dude has been that good.

wtf when did CP become a consensus top 5 player? "what have your teammates done for me lately" seems to be the new trend on this board. He is averaging 18/3/9, all below his career average and is not even the best player on his own team.

Amazing how much less he has to do to get the same consideration of other players. maybe because you sympathize with him being short like yall?

It's stupid to put Wade above Kobe though. He played like crap to start out the season, then he sat out like a month with a sore ankle or something. Yes, he's played well for the last few games, but you're gonna put him above Kobe just because of that? Kobe has had more than a few great games this season.

He struggles in the half court offense when his jump shot isn't falling. Kobe, on the other hand, has a much more polished game offensively, thus he doesn't have any weaknesses like that. I know Lebron has high FG% and bla bla bla but anybody that actually watches the games knows that Kobe has a wider array of moves at his disposal and is a better shooter than Lebron.

It's very close, but I give Kobe a slight edge. It can go either way though.

IF you hadn't noticed, LeBron actually has a post game now. He's been a better 3PT shooter than Kobe for the last few years so...Kobe is better at midrange but it's not like LeBron isn't a great midrange shooter either. Plus, LeBron has MUCH better shot selection, is a way better passer and playmaker, a better defender and rebounder, and a better scorer at this point in time than Kobe (Kobe is older, and LeBron doesn't look to score the way Kobe does. He has to share with Wade, you saw how much he scores w/o Wade). Also who the hell cares what "move" Kobe uses if it just leads to a brick?

You're forgetting that what Kobe is asked to do on offense is more difficult than what Lebron has to do. Lebron is struggling with his shot? Just pass it to Wade, Bosh, or Chalmers/Miller/Battier.

Perimeter defenses literally put all of their attention on Kobe. They double/triple team him for pretty much the entire game, but when Kobe kicks it out to open teammates on the perimeter, they just chuck up bricks. If Kobe had somewhat decent shooters to pass to, he would probably average 8 assists a game or so.

44% is pretty damn good considering how difficult his role is. He can't stop shooting, even if his shot isn't falling, because his teammates just can't make open shots.

He kills ball movement which is why his teammates get out of rhythm a lot of the time. LOL @ Kobe having no one to pass to. Sure, he doesn't have perimeter options. But he has two great options in the post does he not?

Get out of rhythm? Give me a break. Fisher, World Peace, Blake, Murphy, and Barnes get WIDE open shots the entire ****ing game. You want those guys to get more shots? lol

Kobe gets the ball to Bynum and Pau plenty. Why do you think they both average more than 15 points a game? The problem is on the perimeter, where teams just ignore Fisher/Blake/WP/Murphy/Barnes and double/triple team Kobe. The fact that Kobe averages 29 points a game is ridiculous considering how he has to take so many impossible shots due to being smothered by double teams the entire game.

I never said Kobe should pass to Fisher or World Peace. Barnes he should only pass to when Barnes is cutting cuz Barnes can't shoot. Blake can hit open threes now and then but he's too inconsistent to be passed to consistently. He should pass to Murphy if he is open for 3 tho Murphy can shoot.

I've seen Murphy miss countless wide open mid-range shots.

And no they wouldn't. No way in hell. In fact, they'd probably be worse with Lebron instead of Kobe since he's not as good as creating his own shot.

If you're getting doubled PASS THE ****ING BALL. It's that simple especially when you have two 7 foot monsters in the post averaging a double-double. Wade and LeBron have been doubled every game prior to their teaming up yet they still got the best out of their teammates while staying efficient from the field. I don't know what's more idiotic the fact that you have two 7-foot monsters that you refuse to feed or shooting 25 shots if you're "double team and smothered" all game long.

Well, you like to tell me how terrible Kobe's team is, and LeBron has proven to be great at carrying rotten teams. Also, LeBron would involve Bynum and Pau more. LeBron is a better and more consistent and active defender than Kobe, keeps the ball moving more, and doesn't waste nearly as many possesions with dumb shots early in the clock. But remember, "regular season doesn't matter"! So I'm not sure why you even care.

Just like Kobe has carried horrible teams?

Kobe involves Pau and Bynum plenty. Once again, why do think they both average more than 15 points a game? It's a complete myth that Kobe doesn't involve Pau and Bynum.

With Lebron, this Lakers team would probably be 15-13 or 16-12.

i'm a huge kobe fan and you're seriously in denial if you think lebron on the lakers would be worse than kobe

lebron is more efficient and better in every statistical category, he's younger, more athletic and can run the break, and doesn't take as many bad shots as kobe.

honestly the only thing separating them is that kobe has a more aesthetically pleasing midrange game and a better arsenal of moves, yet what good are said moves if they don't go in the hoop most of the time?

i'm not a fan of lebron but you still have to respect what he does on the court..

Okay, why would the Lakers be better with Lebron instead of Kobe? Lets hear it dipshit.
This isn't a full argument or anything but think about this for a second:

21 year old LeBron + Mike Brown, pre retirement Eric Snow, Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, and Z (all star year before) = 50 wins, team with above average offensive rating (ranked 8th I believe), and LeBron doesn't shoot 44% on 24 FGA (he does take 23 FGA, but at 48%, and a TS% of 57%, 4% higher than Kobe)

Current Kobe + Mike Brown, pre retirement Derek Fisher, Matt Barnes, Pau Gasol (all star year before), and Bynum (current all star) = 47 win pace, with exactly mediocre (15/30 teams) offensive rating, while taking more shots (by I think ~5FGA/game) than anyone in the league and a 53 TS%.

That's 21 year old LeBron. You don't think the current version who is way better defensively, about 10% better from midrange offensively, and more polished in everything skill wise (while less athletic) would do significantly better? Lakers' fans complain about Derek Fisher and Steve Blake, but these are both guys who shoot in the high 30%'s from 3 throughout their careers, and Gasol is one of the best midrange shooting big men (while also being a great player overall). Those are way better players than on the Cavs in 2006 and yet a 21 year old version of LeBron got better results with that team.

Again, this isn't a full argument and I'm not saying 21 year old LeBron would win 50 games with this team guaranteed, but that's not unlikely, and if that's likely, then it's sure as hell very likely that current LeBron would do a much better job, no question. He won 50 games with a much worse roster (less shooters even) and the same coach as a 21 year old. 21 year old LeBron could probably win 50 with this roster and yield better offensive results.

Arguing that this current prime version of him wouldn't do better does indeed deserve to go in that "stupidest things" thread.

During the regular season or by the end of the regular season LeBron is always considered the best player in the league. However, during the post-season and after the post-season is finished, they usually call someone else the best player in the league or better than LeBron.

So while LeBron is the best player in the league right now this season, I predict that once the post-season is around and once it ends, Kevin Durant or possibly another player will be considered better than him.

Blake: 21.3 PPG, 11 RPG, 2.9 APG, 53.2% FG
Dirk: 19.7 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 2.1 APG, 45.6% FG

Griffin literally shits on Dirk this season... 6.9 rebounds and 45.6% shooting lol pathetic

Blake isn't even a top 3 pf.

Even though I have Griffin over LaMarcus right now, I think LaMarcus and Love are the only two power forwards who could have a case over Griffin right now. Assuming we're talking about this season only, I haven't seen anything from Gasol, Dirk, Bosh or Amar'e that bumps Griffin out of the top 3 PF list. He's putting up 21 points with 53% efficiency, highest of the top PFs, and grabbing 11 rebounds, second only to Kevin Love. He's also averaging 2.9 assists, second only to Pau Gasol. Other than his dismal center-like free throw shooting, I think he's been having a great sophomore season.

Shouldn't I be a "crazy Durant fan", considering I have him at #1...over Kobe. At least going by your really dumb logic.

You obsessive Lebron stans sure do have a warped sense of reality.
