View Full Version : Forgotten Big Threes

Sometimes, there is a big three or trio that, with the passage of time or another trio, gets forgotten and it's easy to dismiss how good they were.
What are some groups that fall under this category?
Two that come to my mind: Steve Nash/Dirk Nowitzki/Michael Finley in Dallas and Ray Allen/Glenn Robinson/Sam Cassell in Milwaukee.

Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich

Brad Daugherty, Mark Price & Larry Nance.
Terry Cummings, Paul Pressey & Sidney Moncrief.
Charles Barkley, Kevin Johnson & Dan Majerle.
Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Clifford Robinson.
And growing up, I loved watching the 3 J's in Dallas (Kidd, Mashburn & Jackson). Why did Dallas blow it up? They never really gave it a chance.

No one but the casual fan forgets about these trios.
Anyway, I'd go Marbury, KG and Gugliotta.

Terrible post.
Quoted, copied & pasted into an e-mail to myself, printed, framed and put on my mantel, with the words "Future Neg" on the frame in gold writing.
Anyway, I think a trio that people tend to forget about are VC, Kidd & Richard Jefferson. They didn't make much noise as far as contending in the Playoffs goes but that was a very talented threesome right there.

Wtf...lol, Bryant/Butler/Odom was considered a trio...? They never even made the playoffs together.
And how in the world are Jackson/Oneal/Peja a trio when Oneal only played 16 games with Peja? And Peja was there for only half the season, which came to an end in the 1st round.
Some people really need to try and understand what a big three is, it isnt just the three best players on any given team...

:facepalm Sam Cassell was one of the best PG's in the game and yes that was a legit big 3. If anything Robinson was the weakest link of that trio.

You should try watching basketball before making posts. That Indiana team was poised to do some major damage with that trio, but Jackson wore out his welcome.
