I agree. I always catch myself watching some rerun of some 80's or 90's show or an 80's and 90's movie and trying to figure out how any of what the actors were wearing were considered "hip" or "cool" at the time. 80's fashion might be the worst of all-time, but there was some atrocious shit in the 90's too.

But then you get into the 2000s and even stuff from 10 years ago that isn't really in-style isn't all that bad in hindsight. There's a lot of fashionable stuff right now that I have a hard time seeing as something we'll be embarrassed about 20-30 years down the road. Then I see this look and realize we have a winner. Who, in their right mind, thinks wearing this thick black-framed glasses without any lenses (or even with lenses) looks good? I'm a HUGE KD fan and can't even support him wearing them. Honestly, I have never once been "impressed" by the way someone dressed or complimented them on it. But when you're wearing glasses without lenses on them, you just look like a douchebag.

I don't really see the point of dressing a certain way because others do. Never have, not even as a kid and definitely not now as a grown man either. It really seems like a girl's mindset more than anything.

I've lived in places where there was literally nobody who dressed/looked anything like me, and can't remember it being mentioned to me once. if you dress how you'd normally dress regardless of what others are doing, you won't come off as a clown. People get way too caught up with it. A lot of wasted time and effort.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the preppy style. It's clean, it's colorful, and, if you can pull it off, it makes you look about 50% more attractive to the opposite sex.

No, I'm someone who grew up during those days and put up with all those fake gangsters. 90% of my teammates came from ok families and still acted like thugs, had their pants down to their knees and failed out of their classes because it was cool.
We had assistants from some of the top D1 schools attend our games and even practices ready to give out scholarships but our best players didn't have the grades to get in.
