02-27-2012, 02:43 AM
Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who was injured in Sunday evening's All-Star game in Orlando, Fla., was examined after the game. Results of a CT scan revealed that Bryant suffered a nasal fracture. It is expected that Bryant will be examined and re-evaluated by ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. John Rehm on Monday when he returns to Los Angeles.

A 34 yrs.old shouldn't' be leading the NBA in shot attempts per game. Kobe doesn't want to win another championship for the Lakers. He just wants to win another scoring title, and he wants to break Jabbar's record. That's the least of my concern if the Lakers got eliminated in the first round this year.

Not necessarily hurt Wade but go off on the Heat.
Though Kobe has got back at people that have tried to hurt him. Anyone remember when Mike Miller cut his eye? Kobe came back and elbowed him in the throat.
I dont think he'd hurt Wade but I can see him trying to drop 40 on them (Lakers probably need him to drop 40 anyway to win).

Looking at the clip, you can see Kobe couldve avoided the foul (at least the "Wrap-Up) by going straight up with his left hand, right after the spin move. Instead, in typical Kobe fashion, he decides to "fancy up" the move by possibly trying for a reverse dunk or lay-up.

The move he was "attempting" to do also gave Howard enough time to close in on him, which also could've been avoided by going straight up after the spin.

:oldlol: at the overreaction from the Kobe fanboys. Let's look at Kobe's track record with dirty plays(just off the top of my head):
Victim #1....Raja Bell. After getting tangled with Raja during a rebound attempt Kobe throws a forearm to Raja's face bloodying his nose and lip. No suspension.
Victim #2....Mike Miller. Kobe gives a forearm to the throat. He gets a suspension here but only because he stupidly talks about "defending his house" after the game which made it sound intentional (and it was).
Victim #3...Dirk Nowitzki. Kobe goes up and does his flail-"HEY" maneuver and his elbow "accidentally" catches Dirk in the face...gives Dirk a black eye. The hilarious part about the whole thing is Dirk got the foul
Victim #4...Manu Ginobili. After a clean block from Manu, Kobe decides to unnaturally swing his arm back to Ginobili's head. Bloody nose, bloody mouth and a black eye.

Yeah I dunno. I am all for people trying fancy moves in the ASG tho, its silly to say that kobe should have played it safe and layed it in like a grandma lest wade break his nose. Silly and uncalled for by wade..... But no one likes being clowned and kobe, reverse layup or not was looking to clown him.
But I still think this was a very shitty move by wade in an ASG... regardless of whether or not it could be avoided. Srsly... the damn all star game where all dunks go uncontested..
Just look at howard and wades body language after the fact to see it was obviously intentional.

Even in regular season and playoff games, if a guy gets a hard foul, you see the opposing player trying to help the other guy up. Wade didn't even go over to check on Kobe, which leads people to believe it really was intentional.

Something tells me you didn't call the Byum foul on Barea or Odom foul on Dirk last year a heat of the moment mistake though. Wade clearly let his emotions get the best of him and he broke an opponent's nose in an All Star game. I truthfully can't even remember the last hard foul like that in an ASG.
I'm just glad it wasn't a serious injury. That would have been pretty bad if Wade's foul ended up in a season- or career-ending injury for Kobe, intentional or not. I don't think any true basketball fan would want to see Kobe go out like that.

I think the announcers said that was the first flagrant in AllStar Game history, meaning it was uncharacteristic of an exhibition game. The foul was dumb and done out of frustration of being burnt on the play. The pathetic attempts to justify it are even dumber.:facepalm

There has always been beef dating back to the 2005 X-Mas day game when Kobe put 48 on him. They have even had questionable physical exchanges, too. There is resentment both ways I think in that relationship. Wade is also his closest competitor in terms of 2nd greatest SG of all-time status.

Kobe didn't win, the West won. Plus, Wade obviously had a better game. Look.
Kobe: 27 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast, 2 stl, 9/17 (53%) 8 FTA
Wade: 24 pts, 10 reb, 10 ast, 2 stl, 11/15 (73%) 2 FTA
Now who contributed more to the team again?

Who is the kid here? Kobe did win...he is on the West. You are arguing over semantics. So mad:lol

Seriously we have Kevin Love face stomping and everyone is like "he's not that kinda player". Now we have a hard foul, which is no different than any other hards fouls, which in this case happened to result in a slight injury, and you guys are wishing for others to get injured? FFS, you guys have the dirtiest players in Bynum and Artest. Admittedly Wade shouldn't have been playing so hard in a ASG but how was he suppose to know Kobe's nose was as soft as MJ's? :confusedshrug:

Wade praised Kobe's after the All Star game. He said that he's one of the best player of all time.
I don't care what he said after the All Star Game. His actions speak louder than his words. Wade is still the little whiny bitch we all know and love.
I am a player fan. This Flip Flopper changes his team every year. Last year he rooted for the Lakers this year he's now a loyal Clippers fan.
You really are one stupid ****. I've been a Clipper fan since '01, and you would know this if LeBron's dick wasn't so deep down your throat. The Clippers have been my team ever since the Grizzlies left, and I can still respect the Lakers club and root for them whenever they're not playing LAC, which is more than I can say for you.

Nah, don't "let him dunk it" ... I want competitive nature and fire as a fan. Kobe was playing hard, afterall. Thats what makes it fun. It's the fact it was CLEARLY a retaliation and it was a visibly dirty play. He didn't go for the ball, he wrapped up Kobe's head after he went around him ... Raja Bell style.

That might be the single weakest play in NBA history. Lebron deserves a suspension for pulling that shit.
The NBA really does need to start finding a way to review game film and either suspend players or heavily fine them for flopping that egregiously.

He didnt try to injure Kobe, but he did want to foul the f*k out of him. Kobe took the foul pretty well, in street ball anywhere in the world that is a guaranteed fight, especially cause Wade did not say my bad.
Rondo though is a b1tch, he was grabbing wade by the waist first as he was losing balance, and Wade returned the favor. He f*ked around with the wrong weight class that day.

Kobe is smart.... Unless his jumper is falling, even he knows a fully motivated Wade can prevent him from driving so easy one on one.
Wade is no scrub people, 4 years younger and quicker. Kobe is not going to wake up a monster who can match him on any given nite right now.
I expect Kobe to play aggressive on the team as a whole, pick his spots. I do expect Artest or Barnes to give Wade a hard foul similar to Kobes.
