tons of high schoolers are gonna go to this movie, and probly alot of college kids. i've seen tons of commercials about it. i'd probly go see it if i had enough money to blow in a movie theatre.

I know these types of movies draw the interest of high-school students but I really don't see it turning out as well as they might be hoping. Usually party movies have some sort of jokes in the previews to get people talking about it, but this movie doesn't even have that. It just looks awful. Superbad looked funny, The Hangover looked funny, this movie...not so much. My guess Act of Valor and The Lorax will be the box-office winners. I bet The Vow will beat this as well.

the funny part about superbad is that seth rogan wrote it when he was 15 years old. sure, some of the jokes got added on later, but thats a pretty good story for a 15 year old.

Movie looks like a giant pile of shit. Probably took them like five bucks to make, but the movie will probably make 100+ million. Why? Because the movie studios have now found the perfect formula to make their money.

Have the movie filmed in found footage fashion.
Put a bunch of stupid high-schoolers to do whatever.

That's it. No real story, depth or compelling characters. Just this. Instant hit. Why? Because all the real life stupid high-schoolers will go see it to project their own life into the movie, wishing parties were really like that, and pretending that this were happening to them. Its a sucker movie.

I saw the trailer for this and Project X when I went to see the Grey.

This looked promising. Although it is a remake of a film that is only a year older than it, the Spanish version might be scarier/better. Will have to try and check that out.

The horror just seems to be hard to pull off. No one can seem to get the right combination of mystery/suspense/thriller/story. Infact, I should say, that no one really goes for those things in the first place, they all try and make you jump out of your seat with the shock factor.

For ppl who watch films for plot, meaning, and shyt like that. This movie is not for you.

It has no character developement, little plot, not even that funny. Its no superbad. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE OF THE LEVEL OF SUPERBAD., not even close.

But the party was so epic, it override all the lack of conventional stuff. Most of the elements to the party wasn't unrealistic ( i emphasis most) , just epic to the extreme. I love how it wasn't a long movie either, got straight to the point. 80 minutes or so.

Superbad was funny. It had jokes and that was obvious from the trailer. The trailer for this looks like a fun situation, but not funny. I can laugh at Superbad, but the commercial for Project X just makes me think that it would be fun to be actively involved rather than passively watching. At best, this movie looks like a motivator to have a fun party.

I'm like a week away from 21 so about 3-4 years removed from HS. Not sure what your HS experience was like but I'd hope the majority of 15-18 year old kids know what a f*cking party was like :oldlol: . I'd probably say I went to more parties in HS that got out of hand than nowadays with buddies in college. HS house party = potential craziness because it's just filled with people who can't handle their booze and our extremely inmature.

Yeah, I saw it two nights ago and I thought it was pretty decent. If you're looking for an oscar worthy flick with evolving characters and an amazing storyline - skip this one. Watch this because it's fun to watch, it's way over the top and out of control.

There was actually a good amount of funny " lol" content in terms of the dialogue.

But if you go into the movie expecting a comedy, youll be disappointed with the jokes as a whole. but if you go into the movie wanting to be entertained, the jokes fullfill that need and more.

idk the film felt more like the college-aged environment, moreso than a high ( even though it was about a HS party). Part of the reason is all the cast are in their early 20's, unlike other HS based themes like Mean Girls, Degrassi, Secret life were they try to pick actual HS aged folks.

Yeah, some HS parties were pretty crazy, but solely based on raw numbers it really can't phuck with college parties. only speaking on numbers, not content.

It was the number two movie this weekend behind The Lorax which opened huge.

It was on 3,000 screens.

If you compare this to say The Hangover, that movie had three known actors if not actual big stars in the lead parts and that did twice as much at the box office. I would guess that the Hangover probably cost at least three times as much to make.

I would say the producers are deliriously happy with this opening. If the movie is any good, word of mouth will spread on this.

The critics hated this movie, but the according to Rotten Tomatoes 71% of the audience actually liked it.

the drug usage is more of comparision. weed, pills, syrup etc.


but the broads, quality, quantity is a stretch at best. They casted all 8+s, and 1/10 th of them were naked in the pools or jumping down naked on a trampoline. i have never raged at a party where the broads were naked dancing up and down on a trampoline.

maybe if you get a " naked girl only sign" in front of your door then, and only then shall you compare.

Saw this last week thinking it will be good enough stoned. No....it wasn't. I knew this movie was made for 14 year olds who think this is what high school parties are like.....but I shouldn't have that thought running through my head the entire time while stoned. My buddy must have said "This is the worst movie ever" five times. lol

The main hottie is pretty good looking and had a nice rack from the few seconds you get to see it. Would have loved to be the main actor getting to feel them up.

Saw it last night, definitely worth a viewing.... I give it a 7 or 7.5 out of 10 very solid comedy film.
