What a pickup by the Nuggets. Kid can not only rebounds like a mad man, but he defends and can score. 9 points 8 boards on 58% and 75% FT shooter on only 5 shots a game and 21 minutes as a starter. He is the perfect fit for the Nuggets team who like to shoot so he has the ability to attack the offensive glass after missed shots.

better than the daily 15 lin threads
15 lin threads per day, there are 1440 mins in a day, so lin only averages a thread every 96 mins
faried, over those ten minutes averaged a thread every 5 mins
a faried thread was made over 19 times as frequently as a lin thread over that time

And literally every single Blazer fan on Blazersedge was wanting Portland to draft this guy. How the Portland management could pass on this guy is just mind blowing.
We have the a f*cking moron owner.

Labeling who is the steal of the draft is premature. Guys like Faried, Thomas, Honeycutt (watch), Brooks, are steals.
But Faried will be the best rebounder in basketball.

After the first 10 picks, I'd pick the guy that plays hard, has alot of heart and brings some intensity. That's Faried, & i'm sure every fan of the nuggets opposing team will feel the same way.

You think Paul Allen is the reason Microsoft is a success? Paul Allen is notoriously know for being a bad businessman. He has failed at almostall business ventures outside of M$.

i was about to post how dumb a statement this is, then i checked the stats.
he is an elite rebounder already, he just needs more minutes to make his raw numbers look more impressive.

i thought shumpert was a helluva pick too. he has the ability to be a lockdown defender with very good offense, once he matures.

Chuck said it himself during the draft about Faried. It didn't matter that he played for a small school in Kentucky (Morehead St.). He was by far the best rebounder in college basketball and if there's one thing that always translates from college to the pros, it's hustle and rebounding. He is the NCAA all-time leader in rebounds...
Btw, Faried completely carried that Morehead St. squad to a 13 seed last year and to their win over 4th seeded Louisville.

i would still nominate thomas for this considering he was one pick away from being undrafted. that said, this guy is an manimal like his nickname implies. i had him high on my unofficial draft boards. he has a non-stop motor. you can't sleep on him and he has great timing on his rebounds. millsap was a beast rebounder in college. they both share the fact that they played for relatively small schools. if you saw this guy in the march madness tourney, you could tell he was going to be an impact player. superstar? of course not. a solid role player that almost all teams could use? you bet. he's kind of a cross between a more athletic haslem and kenyon martin

Sure but there were plenty of indications he'd be a good pro anyway. Rebounding translates (from college) to pros better than any other stat and he's one of the greatest college rebounders ever.
My projected sleepers (or expect better production than draft position guys) were
Faried: (see above)
Mirotic:Typical can't come over right away/will he come over concerns scare teams off of a guy with way more talent than a lot of guys picked ahead of him
K Leonard: Was tabbed at about the 5 range and slipped badly, awesome physical tools, again rebounded well in college (iirc) and showed Marion-lite potential. Wizards took Vesely instead (ugh).

Seeing his highlights and then watching that game sealed it for me.
I really thought he would have gone higher in the draft. He is great around the rim, a fantastic rebounder, hustles like it's his business and he goes all out nonstop.
If anything, he might end up being one of the 8-10 best players of the entire draft.

Did you know Kenneth Faried holds the all time NCAA record for rebounds...? How does a guy that accomplished that slip all the way to the 22nd pick? God some GM's are morons.

PER is not perfect, limited sample size for Faried but a glance at this indicates there are a number of teams for whom Faried would have been a better pick.

I thought he should've gone to Phoenix at #13.
That seemed like an ideal fit for their team putting him next to Gortat and playing off of a good passing PG like Nash.
Phoenix made a good pick anyways but I was hoping Faried went there.

Now the player I certainly didn't think would fall as far as he did, was MarShon Brooks.

Does he fit every team tho? Sixers for example needed a big. Faried as a Sixers I dont see how he would have helped since he is undersized to play Center.

All I'm saying is he will make an all-star team in his career. Double double at 15RPG, 2 blocks, All-NBA defense.
Not a joke...this guy is incredible running the floor.

Faried is looking a lot better than Kanter right now.
I guess. Kanter is putting up rebound numbers comparable to Love as a rookie and shows huge strides from game to game after not playing last year. He's the youngest guy guy in the league too. Faried is undersized. How much better is Faried going to get?

Loved Fareid coming out and not a bit surprised what he's done with Denver. But PHX got a far more polished shooter in Morris, which is important in their system, and a guy with legitimate size for his position.
Faried is always going to be a hustle, position guy whose a little undersized. Three years ago he'd have been a great fit for PHX run and scramble approach, but they're attempting to evolve from that.
Both teams got the right guy.

God I love watching this guy play. Brick City product!
"I think maybe I was just lucky because I lived in New Jersey," Faried said. "There's everything there, every culture, every lifestyle. I'm sure it would be a lot different if I grew up somewhere else."
