Double-triple-double (at least 20 of any 3 statistics): Wilt Chamberlain is the only player to have accomplished this; in a February 2, 1968 game vs. Detroit Pistons, Chamberlain tallied 22 points, 25 rebounds, and 21 assists.
Rondo was so close to a double-triple-double, 1 more bucket and 3 more rebounds. Absolutely nasty game.

Related beasting stats (20-20-10)
Bradley totaled 22 points, 22 rebounds, and a career-high 13 blocked shots in an April contest against the TrailBlazers. It was just the fifth time in NBA history that a player finished with at least 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a single game, and it marked the first time ever that it was accomplished by a player who wasn't a starter in the game.[14] The only other players to record a 20-20-10 game are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elvin Hayes, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaquille O'Neal
Might be have been achieved again since.
So Shawn Bradley came pretty close to 15-15-15 and arguably had an even more remarkable line. Classic Praying Mantis.

Let me also say that I've always been a big fan of Rondo and I could never understand why he, of all people, is involved in all of these trade rumors.
You can find scorers in the NBA... Lots of them. You can find guys that are elite rebounders or defenders.
There is no other player in the league with Rondo's skillset. The Celtics need to just eat this season, chalk it up as a loss (unless they get hot again like they did in 2010) and begin building around Rondo next year when some of those big contracts start coming off of the books.
He is simply irreplaceable and I don't think the Celtics organization really appreciates what they have.

To be fair, I think some people may be overlooking the fact that Ainge has said all along that he's keeping Rondo unless he gets a very favourable trade package. I don't believe thats necessarily true, but he could be telling the truth.

Well he has some kind of a point. Rondo can play lights out like this everytime, but he takes games off, he takes possessions off and so on, sometimes misuses the ball. Plus his presence in the first games after being back from the injury was rather handicapping, as Celtics stood ant watched him handle the ball. Rondo can maintain ridiculous numbers but the point still is to get the whole team involved. Yes, others are veterans and should be able to turn themselves on when asked... Just that in reality it doesn't seem to work like that.

Yes, I've heard a little bit of that, but it isn't exactly a national story. I'm sure that you Celtics fans can shed a little more light. If it really is an attitude thing, I would try to get to the root of it and try to work out whatever the problems are before putting him on the trading block. Then again, maybe they have exhausted all of their attempts already? I don't know enough about the situation to say.
Could it also be a situation of him being upset that he was so obviously being dangled out there during the CP3 trade talks?
Whatever the case, I'd make sure that it is an issue that can't be reconciled before I deal an asset like Rondo. They will never get equal value for him... Probably won't get close.

Not assist, passive as a player in general when they play teams like the bobcats, bucks, etc. THE DOOD WITH NO DOUBT SHOWS UP TO THE PLAYOFFS. Today is a plus. Did you watch earlier this season when kg was playing trash and pierce was out? Rondo was dropping 30pt games.
Rondo has also been one of the best at getting assists at the rim and in the paint over the last few years despite not having the greatest finishers in those areas. If Rondo was on the bobcats he would get assists in other ways because he is an elite passer and can make all type of passes.

yeah I remember Guy Rodgers, real real quick, great hands, good passing skills, had a love for open court. Played with Chamberlain on the Warriors (which I never saw back then), and Wilt always praised his passing ability.
Which was good but that didn't make up for the rest of his game.
Jerry Sloan was the Original Bull, but Guy was sent over there to Chicago on the expansion move (which when the owners had fooled around with it enough, that generally meant you were good enough to start or be 6th man). In those days with i think 10 teams? that was big news to see a team in Chicago
Anyhow Rodgers had more than a couple of flaws to me, he was non-stop shot jacker and a terrible shot. Never shot 40% from the field any season in his career. He was at times the true definition of a ball-hog... but then at other times he would sacrifice his brains on the alter of victory... what i mean, at times he was not a real smart player, but had a big will to win.
In those days all players would be exhausted from the brutal schedule. This year's season is nothing compared to what those guys had to do. Basically they did a full season in this amount of time. But Rodgers never mailed it in that I ever knew of, like a lot of guys did

Since the 2010 playoffs I think this guy has become in my favorite player of all time after Larry Legend. As long as he's playing there's always a shot.

Is it me or does Rondo play better with the headband? :confusedshrug:

yeah I remember Guy Rodgers, real real quick, great hands, good passing skills, had a love for open court.
But Rodgers never mailed it in that I ever knew of, like a lot of guys did
Thanks for dropping the knowledge

And to think, if Rondo didn't blow some of his layups, mishandled the ball on a free shot, and didn't make a stupid pass on the fastbreak, his statline would be even more impressive. Ah well.
That amazes me too. He made a lot of mistakes he doesn't usually make. We can only imagine. And i counted more than 17 boards, for what its worth. :confusedshrug:
