- Pretty obvious he is tanking the season.

- Wanted to destroy the entire 2012 season because he is too broke to run a team properly. What is more disgusting about this part is he used to be the player representative; he was the guy other players looked up to as a role model, and basically he just told them to go f*ck themselves. Some people would excuse this behavior as him just changing his position since he's an owner, but he could of still STFU and let the two sides work it out, why be suckered by Stern and end up being the biggest backstabber in the history of the NBA? I doubt stars will want to sign with the Bobcats out of retaliation.

"Granted, I think organizations put together teams, but at the end of the day, the team's got to go out and play. I think the players win the championship, and the organization has something to do with it, don't get me wrong. But don't try to put the organization above the players."

That was during his HOF speech. What a f*ckin hyprocrite. I mean if dude wasn't too busy teeing up with Barkley on the greens, he would of done his homework and sign some great talent for a few bucks. As great as a star he was, he's just a pathetic excuse for a basketball executive.

He's gonna end up broke at this rate.

Jordan's famous quotes:

"We're beating a lot of poor teams. So what? We won a lot of games last year, too. Will Horace and Bill still be playing at this level in the playoffs...Can Pip keep it up?"

"I hate being out there with those garbage men. They don't get you the ball."

"You're an idiot. You've screwed up every play we ever ran. You're too stupid to even remember the plays. We ought to get rid of you." - Michael to Horace Grant

"If you [pass the ball to Bill Cartwright], you'll never get the ball from me."

"We're not winning because of talent. We're just beating bad teams."

"Headache tonight, Scottie?" - Michael asks Scottie, while showing him his 2-for-16 line

"It's probably a twelve-day. He needs two days to wake up." - Michael on a ten-day contract teammate

"He can't do anything with the ball. Don't give it to him." - Michael yelling at Paxson who passed the ball to Purdue

"You ever hear of a guy, six-eleven maybe and two hundred sixty pounds, a guy big and fat like that and he can't get but two rebounds, if that many, running all over the damn court and he gets two rebounds? Big guy like that and he gets one rebound. Can't even stick his **** into people and get more than that...Big, fat, fat guy. One rebound in three games. Power forward. Maybe they should call it powerless forward." - Michael ripping Stacey King a new one

"He was scared in there and panicking. He just lost it when Stockton scored." - Michael on B.J. Armstrong's mental fragility"

"They don't need a ticket to watch you sitting on the bench. They can go to your house for that." - Michael to Charles Davis who was sorting through his tickets for his family and friends

"Give me the ******* ball." - Michael to Doug Collins who drew up a play for Dave Corzine

"If I were a general manager, we'd be a better team."

P.S. I can care less about what he does in his personal life (gambling, cheater, beats up on his kids), but when he brings this grade A dipsh*t attitude to the game of basketball, I'm going to have to call him out on it.

F*ck Jordan.

That's how bad he wanted to win.

Larry Bird once said his team played like sissies after a game in the Finals. The result? Magic's team got frustrated as **** after some physical plays, and lost the series.

I don't even wanna start talking about the likes of Rodman...

That's how the game should be. Bunch of athletes competing like they only want to win. I am not gonna say this era doesn't have players like that, because this era does. If you don't like that, take your ****ing talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat fanclub.

Do we know everything LeBron and Kobe said? Can't just assume they said less. That was before Social Media, when society was less sensitive. KG told Charlie Villenueva he was cancerous to his team and dude went crying on Twitter about disrespect to struggling cancer patients. In a way I feel you have to be like this to a certain degree to be the greatest.

Wow those quotes are pretty harsh. I don't think a leader of a team like Michael Jordan was should say those sort of things. I don't care how mentally tough you are, it does NOT help if you hear your best player say those things. I feel like calling out the entire team at once (including yourself) is one thing, but calling out individual players is simply not on in my opinion.

I know that if the best player on my basketball team said downright rude things to me, it wouldn't motivate me to get better to impress him, it would just make me wanna stay away from him.

I can look pass the harsh comments because he is a hardcore competitor and he prob wanted to win that badly, but the backstabbing and hyprocrisy during the lockout? He was willing to throw away the entire season because his cheap ass can't run a team properly.

Now he is tanking the season. That just takes the cake.

LOL at Jordan doesn't care. Image sells products. This is why he doesn't like Lebron and worships Kobe: he knows he's better than Kobe, but Lebron is still young with many championship ring opportunities, and can potentially threaten his GOAT status.

He's no longer playing and getting old, so his marketability depends on image, and if he keeps this sh*t up and is no longer selling products, then he's gonna be dead broke. It's not like the Bobcats are making him any money.

poido123

Jordan was an arsehole, Jordan wasnt a perfect role model. Whatever he was, he certainly didnt let it affect his team winning and his overall basketball achievements. He brought great professionalism to the game on the court, and his ability to put in 100% in practices should also be noted too.

Its funny that threads like these pop up, when Heat fans have a losing streak, and bulls are doing well :lol

One of MJ's biggest mistakes as GM was allowing Larry Brown to talk him into drafting DJ Augustine instead of Brook Lopez.

As was acquiring Maggette.

And Tyrus Thomas.

Should've kept J-Rich as well.

Yeah....calling him a bad GM is an understatement.

Not a Heat fan. I am an NBA fan. It's no secret Jordan hates Lebron. It's all business: GOAT status sells a lot of products. His marketability will take a hit if he loses that.

Lebron has his own empire taking in more money than any other athletes from endorsements; his brand is only going to improve as he gets better, and not to mention, Jordan is hurting in the pockets with him on the Heat competing against Wade's shoes whose representing him, hence why he went on record and criticized the move.

Jordan hates Lebron; it's no secret.

I don't think he's as bad as people are saying. I am admittedly a Jordan homer though and I will also say I don't really pay attention to whats going on with the Bobcats so I may be wrong. From what I see, he's not settling on mediocrity by overpaying and keeping high-paid players like Tyson Chandler, Gerald Wallace, and Stephen Jackson who together at best are a first round exit, and he's trying to stock up and build through the draft. Unfortunately, he's just been a bad at the draft. Its kind of funny cause he's the exact opposite of Isiah it seems. Isiah would grossly overpay mediocre players, and he drafted well when he had draft picks but he just traded gave away too many picks. Jordan won't pay much for mediocre players, he drafts horribly but tries to keeps picks.

3. 2001 Shaq becomes more jelous of Kobe (after Kobe is becoming the premiere player in the NBA) ESPN even writes an article about this

4. 2004 Shaq has his dad interviewed in L.A. times (i pretty sure that was the paper) claiming Kobe won't pass to Shaq on purpose and the game of basketball is supposed to go inside out (Shaq's dad knows more then Phil now)

5. Kobe says in a Room to investigators "I should have paid her like Shaq does his "...no one else was supposed to hear that.

A few points...

If you are just barely finding out MJ was a dick, then you got a lot of catching up to do. It's universal knowledge among long time fans that Jordan wasn't the nicest person ever...nice guys finish last.

He's the epitome of an alpa male, if LBJ was half of an alpha as Mj, he'd have a few rings right now.

Lastly, I'm a Jordan fan because of what he did on the basketball court, not because I thought he was a candidate for a humanitarian of the year award.

"I don't believe professional athletes should be role models. I believe parents should be role models."

Man this quote always reminds me of how much I like Barkley. He has his flaws, but you can't deny that he sees the big picture.

What qualifies these guys to be role models? The fact that they can run fast and jump high? How absolutely f*cked is our country that we rely on these people to teach our kids about right and wrong instead of their own parents?

That being said, I'm pretty sure his motivation for saying this was to get everyone off his back for doing stupid sh*t. But it doesn't change the fact that what he's saying is 100% accurate. The mere fact that we refer to these people as role models is a FAR bigger problem than Barkley throwing someone through a plate glass window, Kobe raping women, and Jordan having no soul.

They are gifted athletes, and we should leave it at that. We shouldn't worship them, and we shouldn't hold them accountable for teaching our kids.

If you are barely finding out MJ was a dick, then you got a lot of catching up to do.

He's a dick. But I think its funny when people use quotes to back that up. You can take quotes from the nicest people and make them look that bad. There is no one that is that nice.

He's a d!ck, but still more liked than Kobe. By a wide margin, too. That's what's killing him. We can excuse an ass but no one likes a phony.

maybe you wern't old enough to remember...but I will school you little homey...

watch and learn..

1. Shaq from day 1 has been jelous of Kobe.....giving him back handed compliments and condesinding nick names starting in 1997

2. Shaq brings his fued public in 2000, telling the media it's mainly Kobe's fault for him not getting his touches..

3. 2001 Shaq becomes more jelous of Kobe (after Kobe is becoming the premiere player in the NBA) ESPN even writes an article about this

4. 2004 Shaq has his dad interviewed in L.A. times (i pretty sure that was the paper) claiming Kobe won't pass to Shaq on purpose and the game of basketball is supposed to go inside out (Shaq's dad knows more then Phil now)

5. Kobe says in a Room to investigators "I should have paid her like Shaq does his "...no one else was supposed to hear that.

Shaq brought all that upon himself....he is the biggest mouth/ego in the NBA

Yeah..so he snitched on him.

LMAO, dude are you serious? Like kids who buy Air Jordans are gonna stop buying them because they found out Jordan said some nasty things to team mates:lol

I would agree that we shouldn't worship them, and indeed it's not like we do hold sports stars accountable for the state of society.

But we shouldn't pay sports stars so much either, or pay so much time/money/attention to adults playing what might be called a children's game. But it's not a rational thing its a leisure thing we enjoy it, and they benefit from huge wages. And part of that implicit agreement is that players act in a certain way.

Yeah, I think MJ is an alpha male, but a psychopath alpha male. He needs to constantly reaffirm himself. That's why he balled so hard and that's why he is so quick to qualify people with one comment.

Most people just put up with it, but he's probably testing people to see if they can say something back. And then if they don't, he's like oh you're a bitch, then.

Phil is an intelligent alpha male which is why he was able to bend so many egos into a system. He played their game and still won.

And ontop of that ... Shaq couldn't get in trouble for anything. Kobe just made an off hand comment of regret saying he should've paid the chick before hand, knowing groupies can go whacko and accuse multi millionaire athletes of rape.

The fact you can't comprehend this shows how insanely dumb you are ...

Shaq is the most insecure, self cenetered, egotistical, petty basketball player I've ever known.

And Kobe looks like a SAINT to him in terms of off the court issues. So Kobe was accused by rape of a woman with panties soiled by 3 different men in the same day, who was obviously looking for a pay check?

If Kobe was a serial rapist ala Big Ben of the Steelers, we'd have more people come forward.

Shaq however? Oh he's charitable w/ children.

But we have heard of him getting kicked off the police force, putting out HITS on former wives / lovers and all kinds of sick, twisted stuff.

MJ's a dick ... because he was ultra competitive.

Kobe's a HUGE basketball dork (like us) who creepily aped his favorite player (MJ) and became one of the most successful players of all-time.

Shaq is an all-time great, underachieving lazy fat ass who pulled the wool over our eyes for so long, protecting what most know with an ounce of intelligence that a) he was insecure about Kobe from the get go and actually initiated the media beef between them b) got kicked off every team he's been on and feuded with EVERY SINGLE potential superstar he's played with because he's that insecure and child-ish.

Shaq should have like 10 rings by now, but he doesn't. Ask yourself why ...

Sure a lot of players don't like to play w/ the Kobe type. He's a volume scorer who gets his at all costs. But I guarantee you if you asked players whose abilities and freedoms they would MOST like to have in the league ... they'd choose Kobe. They are just jelly he's an alpha who can and gets the freedom to do what he wants on a basketball court.

But in terms of off the court, and I've had family members who live in LA who've met him and some what seen him in his personal life. Guy is as nice and sincere as can be. It's just basketball when he turns into a little MJ clone a$$hole.

He messed up and put himself in that siutation that turned into the rape allegation
Obviously he put himself in the position. It's obvious he was also 23 w/ a dick and knew he had a hoe who was in his room bending over showing tramp stamp tattoos for a very reason.

You have a dick don't you, dude?

He made the comment to two officers. It ended up getting leaked via the whole interview they had w/ Kobe.

How is that Kobe trying to drag someone's name through the mud? He said it to two people. Who were police officers, expected to be held accountable of the information not getting out to anyone else.

Kobe didn't need to drag Shaq's name through the mud, Shaq did it ten times worse in ensuing years with the things a lot more shady, morally wrong than paying ladies to have sex with him to protect any potential rape allegations.

Why shouldn't athletes be paid so much, when we as a society are willing and able to pay so much to watch them? Makes no sense to me.
Shouldn't refers to the idea of a just society and the relative importance of playing basketball with comparison to, say, a teacher, a doctor, a nurse. Within the context of the post it makes complete sense. I also stated that we agree to give them that (and certainly don't blame them for taking what they are offered). But if they get that they can't moan that they shouldn't be role models whilst selling shoes which cost far more than they cost to manufacture purely because they are endorsed by that same guy (because they idolize the athlete).

As I said we shouldn't (in an ideal world) need them to be role models. But there are standards of behaviour that come with the money they get. Usually self-interest keeps them in line, and some are big enough stars that they can get away with it.

And yeah MJ was a dick, but at least he was a dick in private.

Did he fight feud with guys like Nash, Amare, LeBron, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, or Rondo ?

I know he had a problem with Glen Davis during a timeout and he just recently "dissed" Nash... but past his prime, I'm not aware he did feud with any of those guys.

No, because he was old as dirt and finally came to terms with the fact he wasn't a superstar anymore ... so he had no reason to be child-ish and petty.

You can't see the difference?

He even trashed Phil Jackson at one point after he left the Lakers. The coach who MADE him take basketball more serious, thus him finally getting his rings.

Shaq is utterly pathetic. Watch him on TNT. Can't laugh at himself, super insecure, always has to have the last word, has beef with role players who beat him in the Finals (Kenny Smith)

IIRC the Penny issue was after the fact though, not when they were teammates. Shaq's version is that he stuck up for Penny when he briefly held out in '95, and then he heard Penny was trying to make sure that he (Penny) remained highest paid player in Orlando, when Shaq became a FA.

Not to say that Shaq was a great teammate, and tbh they had the greatest GM (other than Red) the greatest coach (other than Red) and they couldn't rise above a childish pissing match. They could have had as many titles as they wanted but they both acted like children. :facepalm

I dont get why people think MJ is a bad GM, he is obviously tanking to get high draft picks. The team was stuck in that dreaded 8th seed playoff spot with Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, and too many teams hang around that mark content on being average. The franchise free agents only want to play in big market cities so he realizes the only way to get a star player is through the draft and hope he wants to stay there. As if the Bobcats could stand a chance to get Dwight Howard, Deron Williams or anything close to that.....no chance. The Bobcats are going down the road of OKC when they were in seattle, get a few high picks (Durant, Westbrook and Harden) and build around that.

As for those personal comments about other players, im sure everyone here has said a bad word about someone else during there life. Everyone bad mouths bad lazy employees at there work so why cant MJ? The problem for MJ is he is constantly followed by people wanting to get a story so the second he says something about someone (we all do it) he gets it blasted in newspapers and on the news.....not real fair.

I dont understand all the ins and outs of the labor dispute but anyone who was gunning for league parity in my books I like. I dont want to see the big market teams continue to have 3 superstars while other smaller market teams cant get one big name player. Whats in it for smaller market fans? What makes the NFL great is the league wide parity, the fact any team can realistically win each season. There is no skill in being a GM when guys like LeBron, Bosh, Melo ect just land in your lap because players hold all the power.
