Don't want Melo, but I'm willing to give up MWP (formerly known as Ron Artest).

Would then trade Melo to the Nets for Deron and MarShon.
Lakers would use his trade value wisely.

I would love to send Melo back to Denver but they hated him there especially Karl:rolleyes: They were happy to get rid of him now he's NY's problem for a couple more seasons unless someone is desperate enough to take him.

"Ask Portland fans what they think of Ray Felton. Ask Denver fans what they think of Timofey Mozgov. You basically acquired Carmelo and the cap space to sign Tyson Chandler for Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler. I'm pretty sure ANYONE ON THE F-ING PLANET would make that trade again."

The Knicks would have their own twin towers with Gasol/Chandler frontcourt and Jeffries would carry Amare's trash defense while he goes ham with the 2nd unit, plenty room and rest for the bigmen

i dunno, the Lakers worked really well rotating two 7 footers (Bynum, Gasol) and a 6'10 (Odom)

SF: Amar'e (6'11) - Odom (6'10)
PF: Gasol (7'0) - Gasol (7'0)
C: Chandler (7'1) - Bynum (7'0)

maybe bring Amar'e or Chandler off the bench... could be an insane front court

Gasol and Amare would be the worst defensive front court in the league..so you'd have to have Amare off the bench. I can't see people being too happy having their max contract "superstar" coming off the bench.

We need a new coach, & with that our team needs an identity.

Specifically a coach who knows what they're walking into with the gameplan/purpose to change the culture of this team. D'Antoni lost the locker room months ago but the Linsanity made people forget about that fact.

If Melo is such an issue, why exactly are you formulating trade scenarios for him to be the new "star to build around" in Phoenix?

Every trade propsal in here puts Melo's value pretty highly.

Yet everyone suggests hes not a good player and we cant be successful with him in New York? :confusedshrug:

Doesn't add up at all.

I didnt know an individual player is accountable for wins and losses.

So Melo is 10-19, and the Knicks are 18-22?

Interesting.

Maybe you should send that information to ESPN/Basketball Reference so they can seperate Melo's W-L record from the team he plays for.

well we'll end up being the 8thseed and a first round exit the bucks just scored 120points on us without ty we have no defense
Melo looks lost it's not the coach it's the players, melo is getting 5rebounds a game he's out of shape not motivated
Our second unit looks better than out first because they hustle and play team basketball.
We have to do something before next season.

Carmelo Anthony for Luol Deng. Deng's pct is down, but atleast he won't shoot it as much, which leaves more room for other players. Plus Deng is a better defender, rebounder, ect... Deng and Shumpert would be good for the small forward spot.

If Melo is "trash", why exactly would Orlando want him for Dwight?

This is the 2nd time I've seen this suggested now.

If Melo is valuable enough of a piece to attract Dwight Howard, then why can't he be successful in New York? I know I'm seeking opinions from a bunch of forum posters looking to have some fun and try to argue, but the whole premise of these trade suggestions doesn't make any sense to me.

No we dont.

How many knee jerk reactions must happen before people realize that this is a process, and we cant be making major changes because of a single game.

We need to see where this team is at by Playoff time for full evaluation purposes for the coach as well as the future of this team.

A midseason trade puts us right back in the same damn position we were in last year when we made a move for Melo.

You can't make trades every time you have a losing streak. You especially can't trade your core personnel for downgrades. That makes no sense.

Now if you want to evaluate the coach, i get it, because it's been several years. But trading Melo is stupid, and what's more, there is no chance of it happening.

Knicks need to hold tight. Chandler was out and he's huge for them defensively, and i think would've made the difference last night especially with Ilyasova getting those offensive boards.

i also think Amare is more the problem than Melo with his constant butterfingers, hot and cold short J, lack of D, etc....i think even David Lee would be playing better than him if he were on NY and more consistently at that. Melo is that dude who can get the foul or make something happen when the rest of the team is ineffective, which happens some games.

they also need a lot more cohesion, especially defensively. if anything that would be their biggest need...they looked so out of position against pick and rolls against SA, and their bigs are constantly losing their men or don't step up to challenge guard drives(other than Chandler).
