Flashback. Totally forgot about the finger. I haven't really thought about Green in 5 years or so.

Also, excellent, excellent dunk. Usually when people post baseline views seemingly showing a player's head at the rim, I'll come in with the "perspective" comments. And I do think that's still true here, I don't think his neck was truly at the rim, but all that means is his head was likely very legitimately up there. Amazing.

Edit: This dunk also qualifies for the "Opponent's Reaction" thread. Every single member on the Rockets bench spasmed in response to that finish.

:lol well, let's not act like he's made it all of a sudden. he's still a bonehead with freakish athleticism. if NJ wasn't so injured and offensively inept, he'd be right back at the d-league. he's still signing those 10-day contracts and probably will always get those chances as long as teams are hurting (and you can pick a couple teams at least every season for that)

He also scored in a variety of ways. He has already surpassed James and stevenson as the best small forward on the team. Avery praises his defense. No way they let him go. He will be signed the rest of the year 10 days from now. He brings so many things the nets need to the table. The ability to create his own offense. A solid jump shooter. Athleticism(huge need for this team).

this game was an outlier. he was shooting 23% from downtown prior to this game. five of his buckets came in the paint. he was 2/3 mid-range. i don't think that constitutes a solid jump shooter at all. wait until he gets a costly TO or gets abused in the post. shot selection? unconscious. his near 3:1 TO:assist ratio doesn't help either. even if he's signed the rest of the season, it shows how the injuries are piling up on NJ. i'll wager to bet that he won't score 20+ in one game for the rest of the season

He does have a solid jumper. He also has a nice post game which is nice to have without Lopez. Players mature sometimes. He definitely has. No if he's signed for the rest of the season that means he EARNED IT. The nets have called up plenty of D league SFs that didn't do anything. He's playing D and helping out on the offense. He's a good fit with a pg like Williams.

Green is only 25... His ceiling used to be Tmac possibility because his jumper form, and athletiscm...

Now I think if you can get consistent 13 ppg 4 and 3 on good 3 percentage with momentum athletic plays... Thats good for an explosive role-player. I hope he figures it out while he's young.

I think he can get pretty close, if he jumps off one leg. He definitely could if he was skinny as Gerald. They are close to the same height too, Lebron is maybe a little taller.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1-YcD5pQXQ

Anyways, this dunk isn't as clean as VC's windmill oops b/c he has less arm extension, the windmill speed is slower, and he's a little too close to the rim, but he definitely gets up higher than VC.

Best in-game dunk I have ever seen in my life!

That wasnt even a real game, that was a charity game. Thats like picking a dunk from an And1 game and calling it the best ingame dunk

Like I have said for many years, Gerald Green is the highest jumper in the NBA.

No camera angle BS like lebron's "head at the rim" crap. or Blake Griffin getting pushed up by defenders.

Gerald Green can fly

LEbron NEVER and CANNOT jump this high.

Lebron looked like he jumped THAT hgih in the play you mention because of camera angle..he was actually WAY in front of the bastket and the rim was in the background.

No you are right... he cant get that high... he can get higher... and there is nothing wrong with the camera angle here whatsoever....

Gerald Green gets higher of two legs tho...

Well I mean, he has pulled it off on just about every stage. Yes, he did it in a charity game. But then he did it at the Gauchos, then he did it as a member of Team USA, then he did it with the Raptors, then he did it that one time he transported back to the 1970's and made an appearance at the Rucker.

All that aside, I want to reaffirm that Green's dunk was mega-nasty.

Dunk of the year

Why? Its just a windmill....

It was not better than Lebron clearing a human for the alleyoop or the Griffin throwdown

It definitely has a case....its a alleyoop windmill. Even Josh Smith's dunk was better than those two.

If Lebron did it, you would think it was the best dunk of all time.

Calling Green's dunk "just a windmill" is akin to calling the Mona Lisa "just a picture".

Sick dunk, I didn't know Juvenile could get up that high. HA.

But seriously, amazing dunk... from the one view it looked like he was about to the Vince Carter elbow dunk with it and put his arm in the rim.
