For LA to trade pau they either have to get an all star back or two starter quality players. I don't see either happening

Bulls get: Gasol and Luke Walton

Suns get: Gibson, Blake and Korver.

Lakers solve the PG issue while still getting a star (or close to) star PF.

Bulls get Gasol without giving up Deng.

Suns let Nash (in his last year of contract) try to win a title while getting a young stud in Gibson and Blake to replace Nash. Also get the shooter Korver.

Garnett, Noah, Brewer, Asik, Felton and Lucas to LAL
Bynum and Korver to Boston
Allen and Gasol to Chicago
Bass and Hamilton to Portland

Who says no? It would never happen, but surely everyone gets better here?

LA gets cap relief whilst still having a good team around Kobe (Noah is cheaper than Bynum and Garnett expires this season), they also get options at SF (Brewer) and PG (Felton).
Boston gets younger and better on the boards, but sacrifices cap space.
Chicago upgrades at C and SG, no brainer really
Portland get Bass at a great price, and SG scoring.

BGriffin's Dad
03-13-2012, 06:25 PM
Clippers might be willing to take Boozer if we also get a decent size SG like Brewer..

http://i.imgur.com/QGWIw.jpg

Bulls get a nice frontcourt rotation with Gasol, Noah and Pachulia

Lakers get Josh Smith, a great PG in Mo, and a solid SF in Kyle Korver

Hawks get back a big 7'0 center in Asik which would allow them to play Horford at PF, a great rebounding and defending bench PF in Reggie Evans, a high-energy role player in Barnes and they get $9 million in expiring contracts while also shedding Marvin William's contract.

The real question this trade brings up is does chicago have enough to keep deng but trade for one of the good point guards. Lowry, evans, jennings, holiday, rondo? Scola and kmart? Sessions Beasley and Williams (or one of those)?

It has to be a 3 team trade. It simply has to be. Can they get a legit point guard with what they have?

I disgree

Pau is an ideal fit next to Howard who hasn't had a legit 4 man since Tony Battie, who couldn't get any time next to Howard for whatever reason.

Pau's passing will help out tons, his shooting will open it up for Dwight

And those first two deals are not gonna happen, probably not even the 3rd one either

well, bynum had a back it down post game so gasol was sort of left to stand around and watch. howard is a better PNR player than bynum and he's more reactionary/quick so that should play right into gasol's hands. i think we'll see gasol in the post more next season and he'll excel in PNR with nash

I agree about Dwight's pick and roll game, but it's still a pretty awful fit. Ideally they're both primarily low block post players.

lolwut? Dwight and Gasol is a better fit than Bynum simply because Dwight can score just by being active. He'll probably get half his points for lobs, put backs, cleaning up and finishing passes. From the olympics I see Gasol's been working on his 3 point shot. Dwight's also a better passer out of the post than Bynum so Gasol should feed off open looks all day.
