I was hoping the C's would throw JO's corpse and Wilcox's contract to get Camby.

It's A VC3!!!

They are building around Aldridge and the top 4-6 pick they envision getting from the Nets. They understand they won't win a championship with this roster or even make the playoffs so I assume they are rebuilding for next year.

Two expiring contracts in Flynn and Thabeet. You can play them both and see if they will be "invigorated" by a new team. If not, no loss, they come off the books.

A friend just texted me with this trade... pretty puzzling. Obviously they're tanking but if you thought Portland was playing ugly basketball before, Flynn/Thabeet is only going to make it even uglier. Get ready for some rec center pick-up game level shit, particularly with Wallace gone as well. It's crazy to think this team amnestied Roy and was prepared to move on to greener pastures without him... mere months later, they're lottery bound.

Will Portland even win 5 more games before the end of the season?

LaMarcus Aldridge is PISSED right now.

So? I could've sworn he mentioned last year he'd retire if the Blazers traded him.

The Heat should try and steal Dalembert now. What's the point of Camby and Dalembert?

Boston could always try and get Dalembert. They need shot-blocking more than they need Kaman in the post. Seriously, Kaman's post game is not what Rondo wants. They're slow enough as it is.

LaMarcus Aldridge is PISSED right now.

I would think so...I'm pretty sure those guys are close. Tho I do think Chris Kaman is a good partner for LMA. Go after him in the Summer.

The Heat should try and steal Dalembert now. What's the point of Camby and Dalembert?

A) Houston wouldn't have signed Dalembert if they looked to move him a few months later, particularly not for a close-to-retired Camby. They like Dalembert.

B) Do you not get how the cap works or something? The Heat are $21 million over the cap this season as it is. They couldn't part with anybody in a trade without making an already thin depth chart even thinner, or taking on more salary.

I don't know the Heat's cap situation. Don't know if they have a TPE or anything.

I just don't see the value in having Dalembert at $7Million a year and Camby as well. Then again, maybe they just want depth for the season. Then again, I'd rather have just one and get a different piece. If I'm the Heat or the Celtics I'd rather have traded some expiring contracts for Camby's shot blocking than to try and grab Chris Kaman. I know Boston has those expiring contracts.

If you have seen the Rockets this year, they still get killed on the boards and over powered in the paint. Sammy doesn't solve out their woes. Campy helps them stay in the playoff hunt.

LaMarcus Aldridge is PISSED right now.

He shouldn't be. Aldridge should know as well as anybody that Camby has been poison this year. Next year, Alridge will get some lottery replacements for the loss of Roy and Oden, so he should be happy that this rebuild looks to be a quick one rather than delayed a couple years.

Houston get a nice jolt of veteran experience with Fisher/Camby. Not enough to put them over the top obviously but enough to spell starters and perhaps start in the event of unexpected injuries.

Dragic has an opportunity to learn from Nash and now Fisher in his first formative years in the league. Not a bad opportunity for the young fella.

To turn Thabust and Flynn into Camby who is still one of the best rebounders in the league and more importantly is a massive upgrade over Jordan Hill is a pretty good trade.

Just so you know, Camby has sucked this year. Maybe it is just motivation, which can change, but if he is truly going downhill due to age, he will grab a few boards, have the random impressive block, and the rest of the time he will be a matador on defense and worthless on offense. I was happy to see him gone. I really appreciated his time on the Blazers, but this year was a huge step down. But then again, the Rockets didn't give up much for him and he expires if it doesn't work out.

Well It seems the whole blazers squad has sucked this season.Losing and lack of motivation is not an easy combination to correct. The Rockets want him to give a solid 15 to 18 minutes a night and nothing spectacular. He is more then capeable of that.

Both teams lose this trade. Houston thinks they are getting a good player but they aren't. Camby doesn't play defense anymore. He just swipes at the ball (usually misses) and gives up easy lay ups. Then he takes these terrible jump shots or out of control lay ups like some scrub that is tired of never getting the ball.

Portland got bad players back, but at least we cut salary. I bet Camby tries for about 5 games then starts half assing. He gets injured a lot too. This guy was a hell of a player 5-8 years ago, not so much anymore.

Probably Pryzbilla and Aldridge splits minutes with him at center.

Nonsense, the Rockets only sent Thabeet and Flynn. None of them had any playing time at all so it is definitely an upgrade...

I don't think it is bad for either team. Camby, although not what I think many Rocket fans are expecting, IS an upgrade over Thabeet. Camby will also try harder when playoffs come.

Blazers gain by getting worse in the short term, but that could improve their draft positioning, and they also get a 2nd rounder (which has a chance of being more useful in this draft than most drafts).
