They thought they will get both D-Will and Dwight but as it seems right now they will lose both of them.

What could have happened yesterday...

1) Dwight joins the Nets and him and Dwill sign long-term with the Nets.

Instead, Dwight ****s over the Nets and leaves Dwill will a difficult desicion.

Dwill's quote means that he is not going to be like Howard and opt in. He has his own plans. I appreciate Dwill for keeping everything to himself. He doesn't play with the media or the fans, and it's difficult for anyone to assume where he will end up considering he has never said anything thus far indicating otherwise.

In the last 48 hours the Nets GM has done the following things:

1. He has given the Blazers a lottery pick for a player the Blazers were willing to lose for free and unwilling to keep (if Wallace exercised his player option).

2. He said his 15-29 franchise is in "WIN NOW"-mode (increasing the chances to lose the lottery protection on the Blazers pick, they should have never given up in the first place)

3. He said the Mavs don

HurricaneKid
03-16-2012, 02:41 PM
So many people here don't grasp the issue at hand. We are essentially moving from one CBA (player friendly) to a new CBA (team friendly). Signing an extention can now only add 2 years to a deal. No reason for a player to sign an extention. And since both D12 and DWill had options to sign new 5 yr Bird rule deals with their existing teams it ONLY makes sense to opt out. DWill is going to guarantee an extra 70M by opting out and re-signing with NJ. Thats almost twice his career earnings to this point.

EVERYONE said no matter what players wouldn't sign extentions or waive their option (CP3 just "promised" to) because it would be idiotic to do. Which is one of the reasons I smacked my head so hard about how Dwight handled this.

I was obviously not the only one. From DWade:
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/17821584/dwyane-wade-mocks-dwight-howards-statement-of-loyalty

DWill is obviously ticked at him too as his decision to do the right thing for him will now be viewed as selfish because Dwight did something so stupid.

Eric Cartman
03-16-2012, 02:43 PM
New Jersey trading their first round pick for Gerald Wallace is the stupidiest trade i've remember. The only thing that could save them is that they get that top 3 pick. So they should tank if possible.

Oh I wish Deron goes to Dallas, we need a breath of fresh air, from the Odom debacle. Then Dwight can follow the year later when Marion and most likely Kidd are gone.

Everybody knew from the get go it was a stupid move by the nets. Nothing more nothing less. They took a gamble and lost. If Dwight landed in NJ, it is a much different story. If players can't understand that, fck me.
