What you think? Won the MVP at age 22... Can he keep developing his jump shot and be considered better than say lebron or durant down the line?
You could argue he is top 4-7 right now.

If he can lead Chicago to a Championship, then there should be no question. He definitely has the drive to be the best, and the potential is there. Look at his jump shot to see how much it's improved since he came into the league, give him a real offseason to workout with his team and coaches and he's going to be even more dangerous.
He really needs to work on a post move ala Kobe Bryant though, just to give defenses something else to worry about

Lebron has already lost speed and athleticism.... yet is having the best year of his career. He's just getting smarter and better. I think he's going to age a hell of a lot better than people think. I think he will be an elite player/all star till at least 33-34.... then for a couple years be a borderline all star player. So basically he's got AT LEAST 6 elite years left in my opinion.

I've always considered it as Durant and Rose being the next Bird and Magic of the league. Durant is damn good, but there is honestly not as much he can improve on like Rose can. Add that to the fact every year, Rose has significantly improved elements of his game, its gonna be a point where the only real weakness will be his size, and even that won't mean much when he gets in his prime.
I easily see Rose following the Wade route and being able to play this game style until 30, so he's definitely got time for his athleticism.

Are we going to act like Griffin will be a better player than Love? Cmon man, Love already has a shot. He has a post game and can just add to it over the Summer. It'll be easier for Love to develop a post game than Griffin improving his shot. But Love will never have the ball handing skills Griffin has of course. Not like he puts them to use anyway, since he doesn't have a shot..

I don't see how a post game is going to benefit a player like Rose. That kind of game is for the taller, athletic players who can take advantage of undersized defenders. Rose has all the athleticism in the world but he's a midget which is the main reason I think he'll never be the best player in the league. If Rose did develop a post game at his size he'll probably get more shots blocked than he does now.

Are you kidding me? GP was an elite PG for 8 - 10 years, was the best player on a Finals team.
Isiah lead a team of no other true superstar players to two straight chips.
Nash was actually booty compared to his MVP self for the first 7 - 8 years of his career.
KJ was another one, injuries ruined him too.

Rose is definitely better then Wade, Westbrook, and Deron. Wade gets hurt too much, Westbrook is a turnover machine that doesn't pass that well, and Deron is inconsistent and not as much of a leader.
PGs historically haven't had as much impact as an elite wing or big. There's nothing to dispute that. The only one that was ever the best player in the league was Magic, and he was a freak of nature and not really a normal PG. Thats why I do think it will be hard for Rose to ever be considered that.
But he clearly has that drive and if a one-dimensional player like Dirk could ever be considered the best player in the league, which I think he deservedly was considered that by many people last year, then Rose definitely could. He has the potential to be a better version of AI, who in his prime wasn't far from the best player in the league in a league with Shaq and Duncan in their primes.

If the Bulls win the title he will be.
His statistical impact will remain around the 24/8 mark for the next 5-7 years I think. I don't believe that is enough for him to overtake KD, LBJ and Howard without winning a title. But if he wins a title with a Dirk/Duncan/Hakeem type playoff run he will immediately be crowned as the best player in the league I believe. Because in order to win that title he will have to go through 2 out of the three previously mentioned players.
Dude is also stupidly clutch and cold blooded, moreso than LBJ, KD, Howard.

its possible, but not likely. How many 6 ft players have there been that had a strong case for being the best in the league.
The 90's it was Jordan/Hakeem
00's Duncan,Shaq,Kobe,Lebron,KG
80's KAJ, Jordan, Bird, Magic
60's Wilt, Russell
70's KAJ, Dr. J
The shortest guy on that list is Jordan...
I think he could have the best overall season, but that's different from judging guys solely on talent/impact. You have to have size in this league to truly dominate the game. Well, that's been the case so far.

That doesn't really mean anything, especially when most of his improving needs to come from shooting at this point. A summer with a grade A shooting coach would fix that.

You could argue he is top 4-7 right now.
Rose does have the skills to be considered the best player in the league. He's being seriously outperformed by KD at the moment. But if he can step his game up, there should be no question. The only people who would disagree would be Lebronytes who get threatened whenever other people are considered the best in the league other than Lebron.

Actually it was Adam Morrison. Not sure which is worse.
And i doubt that Rose can ever be the best player in the league. He might win few more MVPs but he will never be considered better than Lebron, Howard and Durant in the next 5-6 years IMO
Griffin and Irving will be right there too IMO
And then you also never know when the next once in a decade talent will come out (for ex. Lebron)
Rose is top 5-7
for him to be considered the best winning titles will surely help but other than that he needs to have an elite facet to his game. Currently he is very good and has no major weaknesses but for him to be considered the best he needs to do something elite in comparison to the league and not just his size/position. For example if he can become the best scorer in the league, play maker, etc or simply the best winner in the league than he would have a resume to point to as being the best player in the league.
Here are a few players who I've consider the best in the league since I've been watching this game.
Curently Lebron
prior him it was Kobe
Duncan
Shaq
Jordan
Hakeem
Jordan
For Rose to take the crown from Lebron and the player most assume is next in line in Durant is probably just be a better winner and with the team they have built around him in Chicago that is certainly a possibility over the next few years.
Finally let me preemptive strike the people who will rip me for making a post about winning then having LeBron as my current best player. I just want to point out that LeBron is in his prime while Kobe isn't as productive due natural regression.

Just cause Rose does 1 or 2 things at an elite level that doesn't make him an elite player.

Rose has come a long ways from his rookie year but he still has a far ways to go if he's gonna be considered an all-time great.
