View Full Version : What happened to Andris Biedrins?
He was looking very promising a few years ago, now he barely plays.
'08-'09 he put up 12ppg, 11rpg, 2bpg in only 30 minutes of play
GSW fans?

His confidence is shot and probably will never be able to recover it. At least not on the Warriors.

This guy has been a great rebounder tho...until about 2 months ago, where he was averaging 1 every 3 minutes and now he's just shitty...and he's just been terrible. Gotta buy him out or something. You could amnesty him but-
oh yea...you be dumb.

I dont know how Nellie killed his confidence. Before Nellie he was crap then when Nellie took over he put him in the starting lineup and did great then the next year he put up a double double then he whent to crap.
Besides if Nellie did kill his confidence hes had 2 different coaches since then and he still sucks,he killed his own confidence. Now nobody wants to take him from us.:(

Injuries kept him off the court causing him to slowly lose his mojo until his confidence practically became nonexistent. He still plays fairly well on defense and on the rebounds but racks up fouls with the quickness. Then offensively he shy's away from anything that has him touching the ball which makes it a 4 on 5 effort. Can't use a guy like that.
Hopefully by next season after Bogut takes over, he can be a very good off the bench rotation big man with less pressure to haggle him down.

i'm from Latvia and Biedrins isn't working hard during the summer, instead appearing at a lot of parties and festivals, and in one interview he said himself that he possibly will retire at 30, so he has no motivation and no confidence, since he can't shoot free throws any more.. some 2-3 seasons ago he was playing agressive and going to the line, and trying to post up. When playing for Latvian national team in 2007 and 2009, he looked hungry and wanted to play the game and dominate, but now if you look at him, then you will see him playing so taht he doesn't get the ball and doesn't want to go to the line, because of what 20% FT?
I truly believe that he has to play for the national team to regain his confidence back and work hard on his game during the summer. I still believe if he put an effort during the off season, then he can come back and be a double-double machine, but GSW got Bogut, so i don't know..

So many players that would give a leg to play in the NBA.

It's so bad that he doesn't want to touch the ball on offense, for fear of getting fouled and then having to shoot free throws.
I'm surprised that the Warriors didn't amnesty him. I'm sure if they had of traded for Bogut in the offseason they would have given him the flick rather than Charlie Bell.
