View Full Version : Blake Griffin takes Flop City to a whole new level...

This guy is an absolute joke... It's one thing when a PG or SG flops a lot because they are actually a lot smaller than some players that they get fouled by. It's a completely other thing when a guy is 6'10 and 250 lbs, but flops like he is JJ freaking Barea. This is exactly why i'll never respect this sissy.

At this point can you really blame Griffin. All players do it when they get away with it. Every NBA hates this because it goes against their team eventually.

It is cheap and the NBA has not done anything.

BTW, I'd pound both the mom and the daughter in the video.

That's the problem. People make a huge deal about Griffin+CP3 because they are particularly dramatic. Same reason they made a big deal about Ginobili, Fisher and Scola before. Thing is a shitload of players flop in the NBA. Whether or not it's extra dramatic doesn't mean they flop more.

Blake Griffin is gay, but let's talk about something else.......

When is the NBA going to prohibit little kids from sitting in the front row? That is a serious disaster waiting to happen. Two seats over from where that happened were two small children. A kid is going to get seriously injured or killed one game, and THEN the NBA will look who to blame and how to correct the problem. Even though they should be proactive instead of reactive.

Kids under the age of what...maybe 10?........should not be allowed to sit in the front row of bball games. Period. There's no way a parent can defend them or little kids defending themselves from harm. It's tough enough for adults to protect themselves.

Blake Griffin making a play to keep the ball inbounds is considered a 'flop' to half the morons on this forum. It was funny at first, when he was actually flopping like a dork, but the incessant whining about something that he didn't even do is just irritating.

I hate players who flop, so in a sense I'm dissapointed with Blake, but I can see why he does it. He gets hacked pretty often without any call so he decided to kinda force the refs to call something.

Btw my favorite flop by him is when humphries blocked his dunk and he tried to flop, acting like he got hit.

Rake2204
03-18-2012, 11:17 PM
It looked like a counter-action in this particular incident. Maxiell was trying to pull off the ol' force-out routine. Often, I find a lot of supposed flopping to be merely a retaliation against an initial infraction. Well, maybe not a retaliation. But it's a situation where a player feels they're being fouled and they're worried it won't be correctly called. As such, instead of countering contact with equal force, they merely allow their body to be moved. Griffin flailed a little extra, but the idea here was just to ensure that Jason Maxiell did not gain an unfair advantage.

100 percent spot on. He's being a bit*h when he does it no doubt... but it IS indeed because he gets hacked without calls. He didn't flop nearly this much last year... I think coaches+CP3 may be encouraging him to sell fouls. Little did we know he would be such a good and entertaining actor. BTW do you have the video for the flop you're talking about? I missed half of that Nets game, including flop.

one 250 lb guy running after a ball bumps into another 250 lb guy running for the ball off-balanced. it may not look like much but his momentum is carrying him out of bounds. happens all the time when someone is going to the rim and gets bumped and ends up flying

though it wasnt a hard foul, i dont see how thats a flop

blake was off balanced and trying to stop to keep himself from going out of bounds. as he stops, maxiell, also trying to stop, bumps him. being that blakes trying to stay inbounds, this bump causes him to clumsily try to balance himself to avoid turning it over and he ends up in the front row. that is the scientific breakdown.

Oh yeah that is Maxiell, and you're right he's very strong, nonetheless it still looks floppish. There's a gap when there's supposed to be contact is the best way I can put it. He looks like a stuntman and not a guy who got pushed.

I'm not saying it wasn't a flop at all. The severity of it is being exaggerated and picked at like usual with Clippers players around ISH though. Part of it is that he was shoved by a strong dude and off balance.

Dude didn't even touch him. How is it a charge attempt? It's a bad flop attempt.
He's 7 feet tall and uncoordinated so when either he was scared of the contact or mis-timed it.....the reason I say this is because he didnt linger, he got right back up like he was embarrassed. I haven't seen him flop before or after that either.

Maybe Kyle was selling a charge, but thats what he does because he's not a shot contester. Not flopping either, he got in position to take a charge.

That's called a bad charge attempt. Look at how he got right back up and started playing defense. If it was a flop he would have sold it more. Kyle Korver didn't flop either. Nice try though.

what i expected from the one and only poster worse than clippersfan.

In reality, I'd say it's not really a flop, but Asik just terribly, Terribly busting his ass.:oldlol: :oldlol:

Blake's flopping is embarrassing to watch. He seems to flop and complain on every single play, both on offense and defense.
Being a clipper fan it's been just awful to watch and I've never tried to defend it.

Blake is an athletic freak of nature but it pisses me off that his head is what's holding himself back from possibly being an elite player. That and the fact he is horrible at the FT line. Way too many games lost because he goes 1-99 in the 4th

The best part of these Blake Griffin flopping threads are the countless amount of hilarious excuses that Clippers fans come up with... :applause:

Blake Griffin is a bitch and everyone outside of Flop City knows this. You homers just make yourself look stupid trying to defend this little girl.

Check out the face of Flop Griffin when he was on crowd... he was like "Maxiell, why did you tried to kill me?"

:facepalm :facepalm

I think next year, he will flop and make a bladejob (cutting himself like pro wrestlers) to make his flop more dramatic

Exactly....look at CP3 swirling and flailing like someone shot him and Asik tripping like a goofy and you can tell they aren't the same actions made with the same minds.

A.T. still mad that I call him out on his abhorrent taste in "music."

Beyond that, my point still remains, if I am in fact wrong and Asik DID intend to flop, the Bulls aren't a flopping team....and we are #1 in defense, and CP3 has never got a win vs. Rose.

The douchiest part of this play is that he didn't even say anything to the two woman he plowed over, Paul and Mo had to apologize for him and ask if they were ok. Dude is a huge douchebag.
Didnt realize that you HAD to apologize for trying to do your job.
