Switch out Michael Jordan for Derrick Rose. How much better does Rose do than Jordan?
I mean come on, just think about it
Taj Gibson = VERY Poor man's Rodman
Luol Deng = VERY Poor man's Pippen
Now tell me this, if you switch out Deng and Taj and you put in Rodman and Pippen what do you get?
C: Joakim Noah/Asik
PF: Dennis Rodman/Carlos Boozer
SF: Scottie Pippen/Kyle Korver
SG: Rip Hamilton/Ronnie Brewer
PG: Derrick Rose/ CJ Watson
/thread
No need to even comment. D.Rose with Jordan's cast = GOAT.

I'm talking about supporting casts. And even if i put Noah on the 90s bulls he would supposedly get raped by the far superior bigs of the 90s.

I think it's great your a big fan of rose but not even prime kobe in the 90's bulls would have won as many rings as mj. He could have won 7 or 8 if he would'nt have retired.

He also forgot to put Rip, Asik, Boozer, Brewer, Korver, and CJ Watson in the thread title.
Maybe he would be better off calling the thread "Pippen and Rodman on the current Bulls team"

if rose had the 14 year tenure with the bulls jordan had, he would probably win 5

Hell no ... are your memories this small Bulls fans? Pathetic.
MJ aged like fine wine. Re-invented himself. In later years dominating the game from a cerebral / will level, showing tremendous amount of footwork, skill, post game, and wet jumper that was hidden under the highlight athleticism for years.
Rose isn't going to age that well. He doesn't dominate both sides of the court the way Jordan did ... Rose can at times be a suspect defender. MJ meanwhile is the best defensive SG of all-time.
The stupidity, it's everywhere on ISH

yeah I assumed he would have the right bench and just glanced over the starters...didn't realize he just put pippen and rodman on the current bulls team. Didn't even see rip hamilton oops.

Rose
That's the starting 5 you get if you put Rose on late Bulls team. That's ECF level team. Magic,Knicks,Pacers or Heat would beat us 9 of 10 times in 7 game series.
Does Rose can play off ball game like Jordan? No.
Is he great defender for 3 positions? No.
Does he has same scoring skill set or efficiency? No.
Could he be same player in 90's rules? No.
Rose isn't at Iverson level, yet alone Jordan. He is great player, we are lucky to have him but if Rose isn't best player in the NBA right now, how can he replace the best player of all time?
Championships wasn't even that easy for 90's Bulls teams with Jordan.

Derrick Rose isn't even the best player if you remove Jordan and put him on the 90s Bulls, Scottie Pippen is. I fail to see the point of this thread when he isn't even the best player on the team.

The other thing you guys are forgetting is that Rose wouldn't be nearly as effective with hand checking rules in place. The defensive rule changes allow quick guards like Rose, Westbrook etc to really thrive now...in the 90s, that type of play was easier to guard because of the rules in place.
If you swap MJ out for Rose they don't win any championships. Teams like NY, MIA, IND go further instead.

This however isn't exactly true.
Hand checks work more in favor of getting rid of players who aren't exceptionally fast, skilled, or strong.
Meaning the players who do excel, are TRUE superstars. They have been blessed with extroidinary physical gifts, or are just extremely skilled. Thus seperating them from the pack.
The hand check and the mental / physical toughness it takes to overcome it seperates the real from the fake superstars.
Rose is too fast to be contained regardless of a hand check. One of the best dribble penetrators I've ever seen.

Replacing him?
Magic Johnson vs D.Rose in 91?
Isiah Thomas vs D.Rose in 91?
Kevin Johnson vs D.Rose in 93?
Penny vs D.Rose in 96?
Payton vs D.Rose in 96?
Stockton vs D.Rose in 97 and 98?
Would be interesting. Rose wouldn't be guarding Magic or Penny tho.
I wonder if the Bulls would win a title? They'll be a threat and be like the new version of the Pistons without them being bad boys. But I wonder how much handchecking would affect D.Rose? It would change the team. My guess is that they probably won't win as much if at all. They may get to to the Finals, but there is too much uncertainity. If you take put in D.Rose, you take out a lot of John Paxson and BJ Armstrong clutch shots. Paxson was on fire in the finals. He scored like 13.4 on 65% shooting. I think he and Jordan hit like a bunch of consective shots in a row. Jordan had 13, and I think Paxson had one too.
D.Rose haven't hit his prime, so no telling. And I think Pippen would've been their best player.

They have been a good playoff team. I don't see them beating the Suns, Jazz, Blazers, or Supersonics.. And I doubt they come out of the east against a couple of those Knicks/Heat teams. No rings.
Derrick Rose is nowhere near Jordan, if that's what your getting at. Pippin is a better player, especially when you take away a lot of Rose's penetration game by implementing hand checking and harder fouls.

Okay Jordan nut-riders, listen here. How old is D.Rose right now? 23 years old. Yes, 23. A lot of players are 23 and still in college.
How old was Jordan when he got his first ring? 27.
Rose hasn't reached his prime and it just shows how good you guys know derrick rose is yet you don't want to say it. Never has a 23 year old had as much weight on his shoulders as Derrick Rose.
Dude less than 5 years ago was in High School and now hes expected to bring us an NBA Championship following an MVP season. And guess what? The chances are high.
Like I said in my first post, Pippen and Rodman are just way better versions of Deng and Taj. Rose is so MUCH athletic and faster than the point guards of the 90s that it would be sad. I mean come on, if Jordan was blowing by guys back in the 90s, just imagine Derrick Rose.
I don't care how big your frontcourt is,you are not stopping Derrick Rose from getting his shot off without fouling him.

the bulls do just as good without rose. he isn't an mvp quality player, he is only sensational because the league is catered to point guards, get a clue queer.

Rose, Pippen and PJ as the coach...I'd buy it as a better version than today's Bulls for sure
However, post-injury Rose will NOT amount to what MVP Rose had aspirations to become. Injuries suck, apart of the game though...at least he got paid as a consolation
