View Full Version : How Kobe Should Go Out

Imagine Kobe is a free agent. He's got 2 more years on his legs to play at a high level.

Imagine also the Bulls have not won a championship and now have enough cap space to sign a big star after getting rid of Boozer and a few scrubs.

Kobe signs with the Bulls to play next to Rose, Noah, and Deng.

A player who did everything in his power to emulate his idol ends up being his successor on the Bulls and wins it again since 1998 at the same SG spot. In the process he surpasses Jordan in points and grabs ring 6 and finally 7 in the same city.

What a great way to end a career. What a great story. Kobe if you are reading this, think about it.

I think it would be a horrible stoy-line. He already gets chastized to the utmost degree for being compared to Jordan, this would taint his legacy even further. Bulls fans would never accept this

Pretty sure after winning titles with number 1 bulls would enjoy winning titles with number 2.

But to op, no.

Even 1 more title with the lakers will do more for his legacy than any amount of titles elsewhere if he went to someone elses team. Even if bynum is better than kobe in 2 years or equal next year and they win, its still kobes team. bulls are rose's team.

Surpassing Jordan in rings and points on the same team prob won't taint Kobe's image; if it's anything, it's Jordan who has to worry about his image.

If Kobe can help the Bulls win 2 titles, can you imagine how crazy those guys in Chicago will be? The biggest Kobe haters are prob Chicago fans and when he becomes one of their own, you know how these stans operate.

It's a great storyline; Kobe will prob not win another ring with the Lakers.

Then they better make room in the grocer's freezers for crow because Bulls fans would have to feast on it. The way they are critical to him, I can't see them ever accepting this scenario.

The harshest critics of Kobe is the Chicago press; those guys make a lot of noise and will never accept Kobe above Jordan.

Kobe needs new publicity; being the new kid on the block as the next Jordan was his peak and when that slowed down a bit, grabbing a few rings, and kicking Shaq out and bribing Phil to leave was ingenious only because it got the FO to get off their butts and go after Gasol.

Now the only headline Kobe is making is when he's getting jealous of Jeremiah Lin or getting his nose busted up.

He is no longer getting any attention and it shows in the way he plays; he needs to do something and go out with a bang. At this rate, he's gonna have to rape another chick to be in the spotlight again.

Even if Kobe somehow, someway wins it this year... it's kind of fitting that Kobe will most likely go out the same way he came into the league.

He came into the league with a cocky arrogance that immediately made him a polarizing figure. He was talented enough, but not experienced or developed enough to be taking the kind of shots he was taking. He didn't care, he knows what kind of player he wants to be and that's what he's set out to be.

Now, nearing the end of his career, he still has that cocky arrogance. He still knows what kind of player he needs to be, wants to be, and has been. He's talented enough, but his body doesn't respond the same way it used to. He's racked up more injuries than he can count. He still fires away and will continue to do so until he retires.

The only difference between the beginning and end of his career? He's now Kobe ****in' Bryant. Only a handful of people that have played in the NBA can touch that.

Ya Kobe on the Bulls will bring back the Jordan days all over again, even if it's just for 2 years. Play him only 30 minutes and the entire 4th quarter; even Jordan will be cheering in the stands.

Don't go out like Garnett on a dwindling franchise. You still have some gas left; time is of the essence.

No.

If the Bulls cannot win and Kobe comes in to put them over the top against the REAL ring chaser Heat, then he will be seen as a savior in Chicago.

Every Chicago fan is longing for the Jordan days. There will never be another Jordan, but Kobe sure as hell comes close to it.

Kobe at his peak in popularity was when he was consider to take Jordan's throne, then when he became Kobe and less Jordan, nobody gave a sh*t anymore and started looking at Lebron.

Give the Bulls fans 2 more good years of them Jordan days and Kobe will go out with a huge bang.

You're talking as if chasing Jordan's shadow is a bad thing. It's Michael f*ckin Jordan. He's not chasing Ronnie Price. How is emulating the best a bad thing? Had Kobe stuck to his guns and truly became Jordan, he'll prob be looking at his 8th ring by now.

you're right about that. had Kobe learned to trust his teammates like Jordan did, he really would've won more rings. but no, he had to be a selfish fkr. on a team-first team like the Bulls, Kobe would be a cancer. so no, they are not winning a ring with Kobe there. nice imagination tho.

here's the better possibility happening if Kobe goes to Chicago. he would chase out Derrick Rose because he can't take being out-shined and the Bulls would be perennial first round outs. he would get Thibs fired, and every other Bulls player would quit playing defense. shall i go on?

Kobe has proven he can win with a good coach and another star player. He's not a cancer like Melo, so with him being on the Bulls would only benefit them.

Yes it's quite wishful thinking but it'll make one helluva story line if it does happen.

I'm not from chicago so I can be wrong here but I still can't wrap my head around the thought of Chicago accepting Kobe Bryant.

We're talking the most polarizing NBA player of all-time going to the city which I believe dspises him the most. This is not just any NBA team, this is the Chicago Jordans. A city that will defend that legacy and is so de-Kobe-tized I believe 100% of the city would not accept him. If he offered to play for free at this very point in his career I still think Chicago fans would shut the door.

However, if he did happen to play for the organization, Kobe would be trapped in a situation where there is no other option BUT to win the championship. It's win or bust and a 38 year old Kobe would be the perfect scapegoat if no other results were achieved. Even if they did win it all Chicago would not give credit to him for that success. They'd give it to Rose.

Sorry, I like that you're passionate about this idea, I just don't see it working on any level.

He's nearly gone there twice in his career.

Almost signing with them in the summer of 2004 (was looking at school's for his daughters), and asking to be traded SPECIFICALLY there in the summer of 2007.

He's going to retire a Laker, but don't act like Kobe's been the model of loyalty. And don't act like he hasn't wanted at times to go play where his idol used to play.

.... After a hard fought 3 quarters of play in game 7 of the 2014-2015 nba final, the lakers find themselves trailing by 4 points with 10 seconds left to play. Kobe dribble up court as a triple team await him... Kobe spins...splitting 2 of the defenders and crossing the third. A 7 feet monster is the only last defense between Kobe and the basket. Kobe jumps....... Behind the back pass to Andrew as he dunks the ball in. The lakers still down by 2 with 4 sec, the opponents look to inbound the ball. As the ball enters the court... Kobe gets a hand on it and deflects it against the inbounder as it goes out of bounds with 1.7 secs left. All eyes on Kobe as the ball is inbounded. Kobe catches the ball 5 feet behind the three and takes one dribble to the left, pump fakes....shoots

Nobody would've ever thought Jordan, Hakeem, Ewing, and Malone would've ended there careers on teams other then the teams they started with. No one ever thought that the last time we'd see Jordan and Pippen on the court together would be in a meaningless Blazers vs. Wizards game. There's definitely no guarantee anyone finishes there career on a certain team no matter how much they meant to that team.

The greatest moment in NBA history

If Kobe were to stay on the Lakers, it would be more like this ...

Entering the final year of his contract, the Lakers have decided to clear cap space and rebuild eliminating all chances of another Ring for Kobe. After a hard fought season, the Lakers won an 8th seed in the playoffs. The first 3 games were 20 point blowouts by the first seed OKC.

Determine to win one game, Kobe fought hard and scored 40 points with little to no help by a rookie squad and Bynum. The score is tied at 103 with 20 seconds left on the clock. Lakers call timeout and first year coach Stephon Marbury wrote up a play he has called consistently and the only play he knows: pass the ball to Kobe and chuck it up. Seeing the play has been called in every possession and every game during the regular season and the playoffs, OKC decided to draw up a defense that requires every player to run at Kobe and attempt a block or steal. As the ball is inbounded to Kobe, the defense swarms towards him to stop his shot; with no shot, Kobe looks for an open man and sees Shakalaka (an african rookie sensation from the great land of Ababa, Ethiopia); as Kobe passes the ball, he yells out, "shoot!" Shakalaka with no formal training in the english language thought he meant "sh*t!" Extremely confuse and thinking Kobe is cussing at him, he passes the ball right back into the hands of a swarm of defenders. Westbrook intercepts the pass and drives for an easy layup winning the game at the buzzer.

As Kobe is walking out, Shakalaka comes up to him and says, "I so sorry me don't know you say shoot. I thought you say sh*t and you mad so I want to give ball back because I so afraid and scared." He then progresses to cry and gives Kobe a hug, then he looks up to Kobe and says, "I so lucky to play with you until the end of your career."

Kobe pushes him away, walks out of the locker room, looks up at the 5 championship banner with him in it, and a tear slowly rolls down his right eye.

Deep down inside he knows there won't ever be a #6. To make matters worst, Jordan is in the stands with his new GF Vannessa Bryant (soon to be Vannessa Jordan) holding up 6 fingers and shaking his head with a huge ape sh*t smile as Kobe walks out of Staples with his head looking down at the floor.

Kobe gets a hand on it and deflects it against the inbounder as it goes out of bounds with 1.7 secs left. All eyes on Kobe as the ball is inbounded. Kobe catches the ball 5 feet behind the three and takes one dribble to the left, pump fakes....shoots

Lebron for game winning shots he decides to pass Wade but Kobe steals the ball,Wade tries to block him but he makesa game winner dunk on Wade while breaking his nose with an elbow in the face. After game he shoves 7 finger (because the gamewinner was so nasty it counts as 2 championships) to Lebron and says "just shoot the ****ing ball"

...Later that night Lebron comes at his home and tries to suicide...But Delonte West saves his life.

His one post alone is bigger than both of theirs combined. It was still silly and stupid but the other dude not only is a hater wishing poorly on someone instead of a crazy FAN of the person hes writing about but he also spends more time than both of those guys combined.

its ridiculous.

I'm sorry, I know most ISH readers have the literacy comprehension of homeless children in 3rd world countries.

I apologize for writing more than 2 paragraphs; I know reading anything beyond simple one liners makes your brain go into overdrive and it literally hurts like a brain freeze, but you know, I like Kobe, so excuse me for fantasizing about him on the Chicago Bulls.

If you put Kobe and Rose on the same team you might as well just toss the ball up as soon as you pass half court. Your FG% and ball movement would be about the same.

Let's say that LA does the impossible and wins another championship. I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe decides to hang 'em up for good. The writing is on the wall. Jim Buss is slowly taking over LA, Kobe is getting old, and Bynum is becoming the new face of the franchise. It would be a damn shame to see Kobe retire so early, but at this point it would probably benefit both parties, as the Lakers could get out of paying Kobe's ridiculous contract and Kobe could leave as the man, before he does anything stupid and destroys the respect he gained back after Shaq's departure.

I would rather see Kobe grow up and defer to Bynum or Gasol, but that's obviously not going to happen. Kobe has always done stuff his way, and while that used to be good enough, the harsh reality is that it isn't anymore.

Temecula? What's that even stand for?

Look, Kobe might have enough in the tank to lead this squad to a championship, but that's largely because Bynum has grown as a player and because of the Sessions trade. However, it's becoming painfully obvious that he's declining, and by next season it'll be in full-force.

It's not the fact that you wrote a certain amount, its about what you wrote about for so long. Thats not a contribution to a discussion or anything. Its fan fiction of kobe failing miserably or something, and it took like you 15 minutes at the least. Its ridiculous. Who spends 15 minutes sitting there not contributing to a discussion or anything and goes into such depth about it?

you werent fantasizing about him on the bulls in that post..

Just because I feel like continuing to prove how pathetic you are, you are lying right now.

That post has a 430 word count. If you typed at a staggering 80 WPM, you'd take more than 5 minutes just to retype that. Unless your brain and hands work at a 1:1 ratio,(they dont) you also needed to take at least double that time to think before you typed.

You're looking at 10 to 15 min, 5 is impossible.

Wow kid, if you were a writer you would know that thoughts flow quicker than typing and if I already knew what I was going to say before I type it, all it takes is 50 words per minute to write up 2 paragraphs in 5 minutes.

Dude you're in highschool; you don't learn sh*t in highschool so stfu and stop talking like you know what you are talking.

Stop being Mr. f*ckin point dexter and go to where it truly matters: college, before you try to school me in writing.

Paragraphs is irrelevant you mongoloid, you can write 2 paragraphs with 100 words but you wrote 430. 2 paragraphs is a blanket statement that proves nothing.

Anyways bro glad to see you agree with me:

Someone with your illustrious education should realize 50 wpm in 5 minutes means you wrote 250 words in 5 min, right? Paragraphs is irrelevant so your example is 250 words in 5 minutes....... And you wrote 430 in your original post. So thats almost 10 minutes right there and factoring in typos bolding things and thinking its very possible that you reached 15 min but it took 10 min at least.

Thanks for agreeing.

Both him and rrr3 seem to be OBSESSED with coming on an NBA forum, full of guys, talking about other guys ejaculating and such. Cuz they're both stupid enough to think that's supposedly the sort of thing guys supposedly talk about on an NBA forum.....with other guys. But then, neither one of them have an ounce of common sense, since it's real obvious they live online. So it's no real surprise:facepalm
