Maybe a double dub is too extreme but at least 22/8/5, he's shown that he has what it takes to be an all time great.

Lets say Sessions plays great for the rest of this season; The Lakers are in no position to pay him decent money this summer, given their recent reluctance to go further into luxury tax...

you don't have to play to units like hockey shifts. You can work it so Sessions or Kobe is always on the floor with either Bynum or Pau. Plus in the playoffs, the rotations shorten and Sessions is gonna have to play a lot with Kobe. Better get used to it now.

Re: Cashing in...

Buss and Kup all say they want to keep him for the long term. I'm assuming that there is a good chance that they will resign him. Buss has always been willing to spend the money when he thinks it will lead to something positive.

You're assuming he opts out

he has absolutely no reason not to opt out. Someone will pay him at least 4.6 million.

Kobe will get 20 shots.
Bynum/Gasol will get 15.
And Sessions will get somewhere between 10-20.

Sessions isn't getting 20 shots. More like 8-12. Sessions could put up 10-20 points with 7-9 assists. But Sessions needs to work on getting more steals.

I actually prefer him off the bench. Your Kobes, Gasols, Bynums of the world need the ball to be effective and Sessions does too. He's better for the 2nd unit because he creates for them, and they can't do that at all compared to the first unit.

The Lakers usually get out to those leads, but lose them cause of the bench, why not keep him on the bench and give it some life? He can still play starter minutes and close the game with the starters.

he averaged around 17 and 11 in 4 starts with Cleveland with Kyrie out

With LA I'm assuming he gets around 15/8/4

most important thing, he keeps the offense moving. Lakers tend to stop the ball a lot. Either Kobe dribbling within a 3x3 feet box and shooting a jumper, or Drew pounding down low, while everyone else just watches.

Yeah he's very impressive with his handles and penetration setting everyone up. has played very smart bball. opposite of Kobe IQ, but he's made Kobe play smarter too, altho part of that should go to all of the criticism Kobe was taking for shooting so much. who knows tho, now with everyones expectations so high he'll probably have a bad game.

the first half the other day he looked like the best PG in the league...

LakersFan626
03-23-2012, 08:05 PM

Who will create offense off the bench then? It's not a bad thing for Sessions to be the 6th man like Odom was. If that performance demands a starting role, then guys like Harden, Terry, Mayo, and JR Smith would be starting over the better defenders they're backing up. Not saying Blake's a good defender but Sessions off the bench gave the team some balance (I admit to being wrong about how much he'd improve the PG production) and Kobe can already create offense in the starting lineup.

Why doesn't Kobe come off the bench?

He doesn't use Gasol/Bynum much, and not nearly as much as Session's would, and he's a one man offense. Why doesn't it make more sense to bring Kobe off the bench? or does starter matter only for Kobe, and not Sessions? :confusedshrug:

i have no idea what usage rate is

something to do with constantly having the ball? yeah well the point is he does use gasol and bynum a lot. why does it matter if he has the ball and still chooses to give it to them a certain % of the time? No way around it... not enough, sure, but you cant say he doesnt give it to them. They get wayyyyy less shots when hes off the floor

Who will now challenge Ramon for the NBA's PG supremacy? Rose? Paul? D-Will?

Is there any PG in the league who can even attempt to match Ramon's unquestionable dominance and unparalleled versatility at the position?

There are countless questions, but only so many answers.
