he fell down and it looked like he moved his neck awkwardly. he was down on the floor and they had to take him out on a stretcher. I don't think there a video out there yet

fell hard on his back...i guess by making sure his head didn't hit the court, he messed up his neck...got taken off the court on a stretcher.

He landed awkwardly after taking a shot in the paint, his back hit hard on the floor and his neck whipped around (like whiplash), his head didnt bounce off the floor though.

He's been one of my favorite players. I did a report on him in one of my college classes as a freshman when he was in his 2nd year with the Warriors.

I remember going to sleep after hearing Sean Taylor (Redskins safety) was shot and then woke up to hear that he didn't make it. I don't want this to happen wit Pietrus.

The Boston Celtics offered encouraging news on the health of Mickael Pietrus late Friday night noting he would not be admitted to a Philadelphia-area hospital, instead he'll simply undergo further testing, remain in the area overnight, and be reevaluated on Saturday.

Pietrus suffered what is officially being dubbed a questionable closed head injury (concussion) during Friday's loss to the 76ers at Wells Fargo Arena. After being taken by ambulance to an area hospital, Pietrus underwent an x-Ray, CT scan, and was scheduled for an MRI.

Apparently he suffered a concussion, and feels ready to get back on the court but first has to be tested due to the NBA's new concussion rules. THere is no timetable for his return but i would'nt be surprised if he came back within a week. Such a horredous injury for such a nice guy :(

He should really have AT LEAST a week off for a concussion of that severity.

In Australia's main sport if players go off with concussion it's mandatory they miss the next week, which I think is good. It's not worth risking the health of players, especially with head injuries.
