Griffin finds Retribution against Hornets with Hard Foul on Ariza (http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-clippers-hornets-20120327,0,1605106.story)
YOUTUBE VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFwBbvmLe5w&feature=player_embedded)
Blake Griffin delivered a hard foul on Hornet's Small Forward, Trevor Ariza, in Monday's game, which was called a Flagrant 1 foul.
It became apparent in the third quarter Monday night that Blake Griffin was going to dish out the punishment this time against the Hornets, and that he hadn't forgotten about the hard foul by New Orleans Power Forward-Center, Jason Smith last week that knocked the Clippers' All-Star forward to the floor.
The game also seemed to be about Griffin's seeking some retribution against someone on the Hornets, though not Smith, who was serving the second game of a two-game suspension for his Flagrant 2 foul against Griffin in Thursday's game.
That player turned out to be Hornets Small Forward, Trevor Ariza whom Griffin outweighed by over 40 lbs.
"Man, I get fouled 10 times harder than that and they call a regular foul," said Griffin. "That wasn't a flagrant foul. I'm going to appeal that one."
http://media.mlive.com/pistons_impact/photo/9132695-large.jpg
After the play, Griffin walked toward midcourt and glared at the Hornets' bench. Griffin and Ariza exchanged words before other players stepped in and stopped things from escalating.
"Yeah, I walked back because they stood up like it was going to be something," Griffin said. "There was nothing, man, nothing. And you can publish that!"
Ariza already was upset because of a hard foul DeAndre Jordan committed against him earlier in the third quarter.
"They foul Blake like that all the time," Jordan said.
Griffin's actions showed that the Clippers' 97-85 victory over the Hornets at Staples Center was more than just revenge against a New Orleans team that four days earlier had handed them a third consecutive loss to end a three-game trip.
Griffin wasn't done expressing himself, picking up a Technical foul in the fourth quarter after he was called for a foul on Carl Landry.
The Clippers were physical on defense, a rarity this season.
"No layups, right?" said Jordan, who had one of the team's foul blocked shots. "We're not trying to hurt anybody. That's not anybody's intention on this team. Never has been, never will be. But at the same time, no layups and definitely no and-ones [three-point plays]."
It didn't matter to the Clippers that Hornets starters Smith and Chris Kaman (flu) didn't play.
Beware NBA.
The Clippers don't just Flop anymore, they now throw down Flagrants to show that they're tough!

Got punked? It's not like anybody is punching anybody in any of these videos. It was me showing that these conflicts aren't limited to PG's like people try to twist it. He's had the same exact conflicts with many bigmen. What did Powe do differently than Griffin? Both were just talking trash. Point is... Griffin didn't back down. PG or C... doesn't matter.

So Blake travels, loses the ball, flops, and then gets in Powes face because he might have touched his chest? He didn't come anywhere near his face like the announcers say. I don't see how posting those videos makes Blake look like any less of a chump. He thinks he's entitled and can get away with whatever he wants but if anyone comes near him he acts like they hit him in the face with a shovel and then he gets pissed.

Which PG did he put hands on? Or are you just being a stubborn tool? Chalmers... he didn't touch. Miller he pushed out of the post in a basketball play. None of these incidences really had Blake shoving anybody PG or not. This is Blake simply not backing down... he's not aggressively trying to put hands on anybody.

Tim brings up a great point as evidenced here. People see what they want to see. I've missed 1 game of Blake's pro career.... he absolutely is not some bitch or coward some of you guys try to spin it as. The same exact conflicts he has with PG's he's had with bigs down in the paint. Hell.... him and Artest went at it one game all game long with constant wrestling matches.
Just because when the refs and teammates get between him and the other player and he doesn't keep going after people doesn't make him a bitch. Watch this video. He gets pissed and stands up for himself but once refs+players come he backs off. The complete OPPOSITE of what "fake tough guys" in the NBA do. Usually players wait until teammates/refs jump in before reacting. This is another gritty bigman, not a PG.

what better way to retaliate than avoid throwing punches, then throw it down hard on the next play? I think it's smart: channel your anger into the remainder of the game and PUNISH them.
That's my personal strategy when guys talk smack. I barely say a word. I only respond quietly, "you are not going to score for the rest of the game," and then I go into lockdown mode and make sure they don't.

Iverson was reffed accordingly. He was obviously so small that when he got hit... it was obvious. Griffin gets butchered in the paint without getting calls he deserves... which is why this season flopping is a bigger part of his game. I don't like it.... but I prefer it over him getting cuts, bloody noses, bruises and tweaked limbs every game without getting the call. Make the other team pay.

this might be a reach, but for a minute think of basketball like the Revolutionary War. After all, sports are sort of a modern warfare-- players are soldiers, head coaches are Lieutenants, General Managers are the... generals.... owners are Kings/Presidents etc.
anyway, say a redcoat shoots you in the arm-- you now are angry and have an instinctive need to retaliate. Are you going to aim only at the man who shot you, or are you going to unleash the fury on any redcoat you can shoot?
Personally, I'd just be like "f*** all you redcoats." <<--- for a visual understanding, watch Mel Gibson 'hatchet scene' from The Patriot.

You calling him a punk bitch based on a few youtube videos is ignorant. Blake has never "looked" to start a fight dude. Every conflict he's had.. has been him taking exception to hard fouls or something boiling over from other players trying to get inside his head. Chalmers intentionally tripped Gomes the possession before... and had been in Blake's ear all game. This is hardly Blake trying to bully somebody.

Ariza gave him a hard foul early in game... but I don't think it would of mattered who it was. Teams are hacking Clippers bigs exactly like this to prevent dunks. So why is it wrong for the Clippers to do the same? No layups or dunks. It worked because Ariza missed both free throws AND it threw his entire game off.
It's not like there was intent to injure dude. Griffin did it and walked away. Didn't stare Ariza down.. didn't talk trash. So nothing about it is him being a punk bitch.

Getting taken out in the air is 10X more dangerous than taking a shoulder while still on the ground.
I called him a punk pitch because he always goes after smaller guys, not for the foul. Anytime a bigger guy challenges him, he backs down or looks away.
When he goes and takes a big man out, then I will give him credit.

There is plenty of time for him to do that. That's like the first time I've seen him deliver a foul that hard. Jason Smith's flagrant was the first flagrant of Griffin's career that WASN'T airborne so that logic doesn't fly with me.

He's a big and strong dude.... so it's okay to do it to him. He can't do it to anybody smaller than him though! (90 percent of the NBA). He's got a Karl Malone build... it's not exactly easy to find somebody bigger to hit. Unless he does it to Dwight, Lebron or Bynum or something.
if he's so big and strong why does he levitate when he gets touched?:confusedshrug:

Blake is like a pale version of KG
On his way to becoming one of the greatest power forwards of all time, I agree.

You know all these dudes are making these posts just to troll you right?
Truth.
They all know they're nothing but keyboard warriors. Blake gets hacked every game and he gets up everytime, that's tough. He is restrained and doesn't spazz out like most of the bitches, that's tough. These keyboard warriors would be broken in half if they were fouled the way blake is fouled every game.

Yeah. Blake. Currently 13th in scoring, 7th in rebounds, and is a 2 time All-Star only two years into his career. Well on his way to becoming a bust. :oldlol:

Blake Griffin might have game, but he still plays like a *****. It sucks that he does the shit he does just to get foul calls. He might get hit hard during games, but that is no excuse to be a bitch and flop unnecessarily.
Don't worry, I have those kind in my team, like Kyle and Scola, but at least they don't ****ing do twirls in the air while flying 20 feet out bounds to sale a call.

Sports fans tend to have some of the lowest IQs and the most regressive childish mentality. The Blake Griffin backlash is expected, I just didn't think it would be that soon. Saying BG flops is as fallacious, tired and childish as the whole lebron travelling thing.
Jordan benefited from two things in the 90s: watered down teams/defenses and the fact there was no internet around for fat armchair warriors to shit on every single thing he did.
