Depends on your diet and what kind of stones you get (two types). Also family history plays a big role on if you actually get stones or not. Not drinking enough water is the major factor.... you need to drink enough water to flush the stones before they form into larger ones.

I remember I got mine back when I was in college eating crappy dorm cafe food which was high on the sodium content. Woke up in the middle of the night and puked my guts out several times... I thought I had salmonella poisoning from the dorm food. After taking a piss and seeing nothing but blood, I went to the hospital and found out I had a 3.5mm stone.

Either way, I can't drink as much dark soda (coke, pepsi, dr.pepper) as I did before.

You have to be preventative tho. You don't want that popping up on you at any given time. And they have a tendency to keep popping up if you don't change something in your diet and good liquid intake.

Been there. It's amazing. Normally with stuff like this, you can avoid pain by laying down in one position or another. Nothing helps here. Worst part is from kindey to bladder. After that it's a cakewalk.

I fear the day that second one decides to pop out of there. Always carrying diclofenac suppositories with me nowadays. :bowdown:

8 mm is the max they wait for you to piss out. And it probably wont slip out of the kidney across, so width is 3mm.
