Bynum is a legit first option on any NBA team. He's the biggest mismatch of the NBA....

It's that simple. All you have to do is give it to Bynum in the post, and voila!

See, I knew something like this would happen eventually. It's funny how people on ISH genuinely believed that all the Lakers had to do was feed the bigs all game and they would just steam roll everybody. That's obviously not the case, and never really has been.

You act like people are actually saying that the Lakers would be better off without Kobe. If they are...they are morons.

But you honestly can't believe that a sg taking 24 shots a game shooting 43% from the field is ideal when you have Gasol and Bynum on the team.

I swear Kobe and his fans are all the same. It always has to be one extreme or the other. Its either Kobe taking 25 shots or 12 shots. Why not just take between 16 and 20 shots....score a little more efficiently and allow his other players to get more involved?

Is it really that hard of a concept? And a huge LOL at people attacking Bynum and Gasol on fg%.....

obviously we are better off letting the lord mamba run wild. Even if he misses lots of his shots its easy put backs for Gasol and Bynum-if you let Gasol and Bynum Iso they just put up bricks. Atleast when Kobe bricks it is a 50% chance to be an offensive putback for his bigs.

WIN WIN situation whenever kobe shoots, even if he misses.

I'll be happy with that to be honest.

That game Kobe had against the Clippers a few nights back was GREAT. If he plays anywhere close to that, the Lakers have a strong chance of making and/or winning in the Finals.

Do you really think Kobe is thinking how many shots he is going to put up. If he is going to shoot he is going to shoot. He doesn't limit himself to 16 shots, 20 shots, or 30 shots. No one is going be on the bench and hold up board and tell Kobe, "You are at 16 shots now, that is the last one you are going to take".

How ridiculous is that?

The problem is never Kobe shooting. It's his mentality that he can shoot his way out of bad nights. Kobe is an enigma of a player because his success and the way he plays, he always thinks the next shot will go in. He doesn't realize that when he struggles, if he takes the pedal of the gas, and allow Bynum and Gasol to have their shots, it might give Lakers a chance to be more successful.

I have to think that when you are that good of a player like Kobe is, you can brick 30 shots, and you still feel the next one is going to be nothing but net.

As for Bynum being a #1 option, I think it's a mirage if you think that him making few good post moves and few dunks that he is a consistent #1 option. Bynum has never shown that he can go on a 8-10 games where he just dominates the league. Maybe for 2-3 games, but to be a #1 option, Bynum should easily get 22-24 a game, shooting close to 55-60%, and get about 14-16 boards along with 3-4 blocks.

If he gets 17 shots and only makes 7 against Chris Kaman, and 27 shots and 10 makes against Gortat, I just don't see #1 option there. And just to point out, 1 blk in the last two games.

You think playoffs teams will play with such abysmal defense as the Clippers did? HELL NO....

The only reason that theory is a complete joke is simple. You can't put a cap on how many shots it will take for Kobe to get the team a win. Regardless of the shots going in or not. The scrubs he's playing with have proved that period. And yes, that includes deferring key shots to Bynum and Gasol who have shown in those moments to be a greater risk of failure than a Kobe getting double-teamed. Or, playing team ball and watch everyone pass the ball to end up with 6 seconds in the clock in Kobe's hand, Kobe getting double teamed and throwing a bad percentage shot.

Yes, in an ideal world that would be the Kobe you would LOVE to see, 16-20, 50% FG. Reality be its b1tch, that ain't the case. And for all the flare up and stupidity, the Lakers without Kobe have shown they have no chance, no chance at all of holding up, putting a decent fight, regardless of a loss, against mediocre teams in the NBA alas the Phoenix Suns.

Gasol is most underrated player in league.

He has no ego and is a great teammate does what the team needs.

Still the best PF in the league. Guy is a beast can do it all.

Bynum fails.

Did you watch the game? Kobe hit A LOT of contested fadeaways, especially down the stretch. That one on Foye was unreal. Yeah, the Clippers were having trouble stopping him, but they did try doubling and were successful in doing so.

Lakers minus KOBE with a DECENT SG who's team first (NOT D. Ebanks who was starting) would be better.
