it sounded like some typical drake shit and jeezy sounded like he was dying. was very traumatizing. :(
A 2 D. Post your list.
Also, the features I meant was the Ross one, Ghetto Dreams, Kings and Queens, Champion (there's probably more, but literally every one of those is fire). Add that up with two hot singles, I think that's a streak. More accurately, I think only a fvckboy would not call that a streak.
WhiteMosɘs
04-19-2012, 11:58 PM
what list?
I wanna see your top 100. I imagine it'll be very controversial and interesting. As in it won't be pandering to the old heads around here that'll kick in the door and put their cawks in your mouth.
WhiteMosɘs

for someone like nas that's not a hot streak, that's pathetic. he's a legend and has to be held to much higher standards. e-40 just put out some joints that hold up to his classics.
i don't have one. i'm not knowledgeable enough and would need to listen to much more rap. i can give you top 100 in 2012 though.
I disagree. Those verses are great. :applause:
Gimme that top 100.

could only get to 50, i don't even think there are 100 rappers making good rap. and i'm not gonna put guys i don't listen to or care about like wiz on the list just to fill up space.

recent trae is awful (why is he so raspy and doing songs with big sean?) and i haven't heard any of the recent z-ro.
What, you said you listen to all the new stuff. You haven't peeped his drug series (Crack; Cocaine; Heroin and most recently Meth?)

this list is not that serious, shit. i liked nicki's album (the rap parts) a lot and would be really excited if she did a full rap album or mixtape.
That rapping part was dope as fvck hey? Happy to agree with you on something. I haven't listened to the rest of it, but Starships is a banger.
WhiteMosɘs
04-20-2012, 02:34 AM
i thought we agree on everything? starships is trash, tracks 1-6 and stupid hoe is all i fvck with. and let's see that list.
That's what I'm talking about. Roman in Moscow too, heavy. The white girl in me liked starships. I've been thinking about my list. Fuuu ck. I'd have to do 2012. This would be a project for me.

first off, explain how salt n pepa belong in the top 200
tribe called quest, are you just a huge fan? how can you justify that high of a spot?
Explain how they fall short of 200? They are the first successful female artist of Hip-Hop, (before Latifah and Lyte.) Roxanne Shante was no real rapper, just a bunch of Shante records. You seriously don't think they merit a spot in the top 200? Also, you seem to be hard on female rappers.
Quest was very dope. They could spit with the best of them, than rap about some abstract (of course) shit. They were at the forefront of alternative hip-hop along in the early to mid-90s.
12 might be a little too high. Late teens at the lowest though.
L.Kizzle
04-23-2012, 09:14 PM
how does kweli make this list and cam or juve not? slum village? i thought we weren't putting on the unknown/underground.
Slum are not unknowns, and it's not like they are top 15. They barley made the list at 95.
Kweli is a dope ass rapper, much better than Cam or Juve the Great (and I luv Juvenile.) Also, Juve along with Cam'ron and the Diplomats were some of my last omissions.
It was down to the New Yorkers, Cam'ron vs. Ja Rule and the NO boyz of Mystikal vs. Juvenile.
L.Kizzle
04-23-2012, 09:18 PM
tribe definitely didn't make as big an impact as triple 6 who are somehow at like 80, wtf?
As you know, I'm more of a southern hip-hop fan compared to East (though in the later years, been catching up with my old school east as I grew up on the southside.) But that statement is false. It's not a landslide or anything, but Tribe bought that alternative mode in more so than Del a Soul, Arrested Development or Funky Homosapein. They did create crunk muzik, (666.)

I don't see any huge issues with his list, it's pretty generic. De La Soul, Redman, Salt-n-Pepa, Talib Kweli, AZ are probably too high. Don't think anybody is too low outside of Lil Wayne based on his own criteria. A few bums like Big L, Ja Rule, Mack 10 and Kid 'n Play probably shouldn't be on the list at all, but nothing egregious.

he can't even rap though, and i'm a fan. dipset is definitely in there, over boot camp for sure.
BlackStar was hot though.
And Dip-Set over Boot Camp Clik. Boot Camp was very underrated, in an East coast where Wu-Tang, Biggie, Nas, Mobb Depp and emerging Jay-Z ran the blocks.

Big L sucked, he had some decent punchlines and that was it. If he hadn't died nobody would give two shits about him.
Ja Rule made awful, awful music. Nothing he did left any kind of impression in Hip-Hop, you won't ever hear any of his tracks on an oldies station. Yeah, he was pretty popular at one point so I guess you can argue that he deserves a spot, but he doesn't.
I had to use google just to remind myself who Mack 10 was. There's literally no good reason why he should be on anybody's list, even his own.
Kid n' Play were popular because of House Party, not for their shitty late 80's happy rap. People need to stop pretending they actually listen to garbage like Run D.M.C., early LL Cool J, Kwame, Heavy D, Fresh Prince and Doug E. Fresh. That shit is corny and you all no it. Nobody has that shit on their ipods. Stop fronting.

So happy rap basically should be erased out of hip-hop history, am I gettin' this straight?
I was generous with Big L. I do think he is overrated and when he was alive, no one cared about him (no disrespect.) But he was pretty good MC.

Glorified punchline rapper, and I used to be a fan. He's one of the most dull rappers ever, tell me one thing you know about Big L other than the fact that he was a rapper. His lyrics were full of Duck Tales, his beats were horrible, no intangibles, lacked bravado, swagger. You know, the stuff that makes a rapper good. I'll take a guy who isn't as "lyrically gifted" like a Cam'ron, a 50 Cent or a Pusha T because they're actually entertaining and don't sound like they're just reading from their rhymebook.

Dude had one of the best flows, deliveries, rhyming, of all time. You already acknowledged his punchlines and lyrics so what's your argument here?
That he didn't interest you and that he wasn't known until after he was dead.... you know after his best album (2nd) was released?

Drake hasn't been rapping nearly as long. Ross and Jeezy both debuted in 2005 and Drake in 2010. So they have some years on Drake. I don't have anyone in my list who released their first album after 2006. So that's at least a 6 year period in the game, an eternity in hip-hop. Pac and Biggie made there career's in 6 years or less.

One of the best flows? On what planet?
Zero substance. The reason 2Pac is so popular is because of what he was outside of being a rapper. Being technically proficient, doesn't make you good it makes you technically proficient.

Different era, in my opinion.
Drake's in an era where these "mixtapes" are really albums. Look at the So Far Gone or Comeback season.
J. Cole with the Warm Up and Friday Night Lights.
TI with F*ck Da City Up.
Ross with the Albert Anasthasia EP and Rich Forever.
Weezy with the Dedication or Da Drought Series.
I could go on as well.

Better flow than pac hands down I'll tell you that.
Better flow than anybody rapping today, and he had one of the best flows during is era, which is saying a lot.
And why are you changing the argument again?
You have nothing to stand on, so you keep switching shit up.
Before he sucked and nobody cared about him until he died.
Then you changed that with a bunch of other nonsense, that wasn't part of your original argument.
Now you change it again because you had nothing to stand on.
Now... I'm not saying he should be a top 10 or none of that. And I'm not disagreeing with your 2pac comment. But your initial post (at least the one I replied to) and some comments within your replies are bizarre.

so far gone didn't come out until 09. that's only 3 years ago too early to make a goat list. trap or die was in 05.
Time limits are ridiculous.
I am in no way comparing Nas to Drake, but you telling me that if we were posting after It Was Written was released in 96, he wouldn't make Kizzle's list because he hasnt been in the game long enough?
This is just silly.

Big L is overrated as hell. A lot of shock value, violent shit. Nothing really too clever, a lot of nursery punchlines TBH. Always sounded like he wanted to kill somebody.
He was pretty nice, though.

Compare a guy like Big Pun to Big L. Every bit as skilled, but infinitely more enjoyable to listen to. Why? He was funny, he was interesting, he had an actual personality. Big L is dull as dishwater.
Pun is a clear step above L IMO.

He was riding DMX's d*ck hard. It wasn't a coincidence that he tried to use the same type of gritty production months after X destroyed the game in the middle of puff's shiny suit era.

An unoriginal rapper, there are many. He's not the first and won't be the last.
That still wont get Drake on the list.
There is always an album that comes out, and the next few try to ride that wave. 36 Chambers, It's Dark, ect.

Who doesn't deserve being here, beside the mentioned Kid 'n Play? Also, I already explained why he is not here? Ad my reasoning for Drake is constant, you don't see any new relatively young bucks on my list who started in the later half of the 2000's.

You do realize that you are making a great of all time list, not greatest of the most time, right??
That like making a top 100 players off all-time in NBA history list and leaving off Kevin Durant because he's only been playing since 2007 or slighting D.Rose because he's only been playing since 2008. Plus that wasn't part of your original criteria.

Yes I realize this is a greatest of all-time list, which is why Drake isn't here. If you think Drake is already one of the greatest, I'd hate to wonder what you think about TI or somebody like that?

Hill under Fugees, GZA under Wu-Tang Clan. Notice I didn't separate the Wu. I wanted to give other mofo's a shot, that's 6 (possibly seven more spots for Wu members.)
I love me some Mo City da Don, but you from Houston, you know he don't belong. If this were top 100 underground, he'd make the list.

Make sure to keep in mind Kizzle's shitty criteria:
Impact: Impact they had on hip-hop and in other areas.
Lyrics: Are they great with words, were they deep in there songs.
Flow: Was their flow smooth, were they a good freestyle rapper?
Sales: How did they impact the charts.
Fame: How well known are they in the world of hip-hop; outside hip-hop?
Lamar Doom, get serious with your list.
We'll add up after we get about 20-25 good lists.

after another disappointing album?
disappointing to whom?
Anyways, his resume speaks for it self. Even if that is two "disappointing albums" he still has three great ones.

ti vs tip is trash, paper trail is barely decent. urban legend is arguably his best work
You try too hard.
I don't know anyone that would call that album trash.

i thought everyone felt that way until ur post, and why is having opinions that differ with yours trying too hard?
You just try too hard in rap discussions, it's all been this way. Even your fave artists have changed, you still have a lot of fvck boy in you.
In all seriousness, how can an at worst subpar/mediocre album be trash?

Drake gotta be somewhere in the top10..
My main contention with Kizzle's list is that Kool G Rap is far too low, overall I can't say I have a lot of problems though.

Grey Hairs is a great album. I don't know why you'd question my post but not even try to provide any sort of a defense for your questioning.
