22 games straight of double digit assist whether he's playing with HOFrs or not...

Good grief I think Magic did it 47 times straight

Anyway Danny Ainge is on the phones working on a blockbuster to trade Rondo on draft day

Is this supposed to be a pro or anti Rondo thread? Honestly can't tell.

It's praising him while goofing on Ainge. I also had to be taken aback to Magic doing it that many games in a row it may have been higher like 49 in a row. I forgot the stat they showed on NABTV yesterday

Ah, the Magic comment threw me off. I'm pretty sure Stockton's got the record with 30 though. I've got love for Rondo, I never wanted him out of Boston like a lot of C's fans here. We're obviously not going to get the likes of Paul/D-Will/Rose for him, but the only other point guard I'd be okay with trading him for would be Westbrook.

The record is 44 games in a row for Magic, 29 for Stockton. Go look at the C's forum for real numbers. You barely included half baked stats.

Okay I knew it was 40 something in a row. I was a little high. Now Stock did the 20s thing multiple times in a row but nevertheless Rondo shut a lot of traps up this year...the Original Mutation as in putting cats on Mute

If only he could shoot...

If I were him, I'd spend at least 12 hours a day everyday during the summer doing nothing but shoot jumpshots.

Weird form it's hard to improve.

So you must hate have hated

Shaq
Blake
D-12
Tim Duncan
Lebron(in the clutch)
Rose(in the clutch)

All of these guys have had long stretches in their career dealing with the ability to make free throws.

I could possibly understand the last 2 as they are shoved down your throats and maybe 1 other for being a Hollywood Flopping Actor but if not making free throws is your schtik you hate some good ones. Of course you're probably henpecking in order to satisfy the Celtic disdain

He makes them when it counts though. I remember that sick three he hit in the dying seconds the LAL-Bos game 7 two years ago.

theyre not ball handlers and lebron/rose are anomalies. they deserve their own separate thread for clutch shooting or FTs

i expect all ball handlers and PGs to be good FTs and good shooters. they dont even have to hit a good percentage. they just need to make the defense respectable. if you noticed much of the bad offense that the celtics had earlier this year was due to defenders sagging off rondo every game and leaving less spacing for the rest of the boston shooters to get open.

Rondo is unorthodox and definitely has his flaws as a player, but I think he's proven throughout his career that the pros of his game vastly outweigh the cons.

Ason Kidd for about 5-7yrs was shaky at best ability to hit the jumper consistently and make free throws. Matter of fact his jumper is still hella broke although he has developed the ability to hit the 3 ball late in his career....largely because he's too slow to dribble past anybody and beat them at the rim. So you hated him too was it not for his New Jersey transverse?

The sagging off observation is way miscalculated by yourself. Teams are still sagging off. Ray Allen has now been benched. Rondo's assist have soared since All-Star break oh and they've been winning?

How about the team was stiff and not in form because they're like an old antique car that hasn't been driven in a while but once tuned up and broke in for a few Sunday drives they're like brand new.

Had really nothing to do with sagging off, they won a chip with teams sagging off him you realize this right? Teams still haven't figured out how to play him correctly and he still hurts them

I still believe in his talent but there's no justifying his attitude in Dallas. That was messed up. If he matures he can still be a good player and may have a future in coaching.

It's worse unless your a team where he wants to play and you get him cheap due to it and he plays better.

Cuban did that. There was no chance Rondo was gonna match with Monta Ellis.

Not to mention they traded away their only shred of a bench (Wright and Crowder) to improve a starting rotation that was already doing great with Jameer.
