When there's less than a minute left, and your team is losing, and they bring them the win, then yes. And it doesn't matter who it's against.

17 straight points in the 4th to beat the Nets. The Nets suck, but the man still showed up when the team needed him.

As soon as he wants the game he goes 16 straight points.
Sorry Netsbros for the assholes at your stadium cheering for the Heat.

Crazy game by Humphries too.

Truth of the matter is, the Nets are a JOKE of a team. They practically rolled over on their backsides and presented themselves to Lebron to take, and own.

Defense was atrocious. Literally just stopped guarding the man, and opened wide up.

This wasnt exactly a "pressure" situation that meant much. Not to say it wasnt impressive. But clutch? Ehhhhhhhh

Waiting for Lebron to show these stripes during a playoff game of substance.

The Heat bench needs to be better( just a little bit at least), they need to crash the boards more this leaking out on a miss won't work all the time, and lastly their ****ing shooters need to actually make shots. How pathetic are you? Seriously?

This Nets team, on this specific night, is the only time a team has magically decided to "stop" playing defense? Where are all the other 17-0 runs by single players to close out games? How many times do we see a performance like this in the finals minutes of a game in a single season? LeBron must have been lucky enough to face the one team that does this, all year, to be able to close out the game like he did, right? Do you realize how absurd that sounds? Opportunities present themselves all the time, especially vs weaker teams. Dropping 17 points on them to close out a game doesn't happen very often.

But of course, all the stars aligned tonight for LeBron to face the one team that "rolls over" and decides to let him drop 17 points on them to close out the game despite playing hard and maintaining a lead all game.

I don't understand why people like you even watch basketball. Do you even like this sport?

Why did he score 0 pts in OT just few days ago?

He had 12 or 10 minutes to do it.

Lebron had 5 minutes.

Some people (many Lebron haters), apparently think that if a basket is made in the 4th quarter, but not the last 2 or 3 minutes, then it isn't clutch. So, you can't do a 180 here and not take into consideration how much time was remaining at the end of the game.

Thanks. I didn't know that.

I also didn't know 17 straight is the same as 17+ overall. Let me help you. 17 straight points means that the player scored all of those points while no other teammate score. ie: this player did all of the scoring alone to close out the game. Do you want another try?

Are you kidding me? Durant doesn't have the luxury to take all his teams last shots with a shot jacking west brook on his team.

He leads the league in scoring 4th Q for crying out. And where is lebron? Not even top 20. A fluke 4th Q by lebron against a tanking nets defense doesn't even show up on the blimp.

I'm just saying that this is one game, Lebron has done amazing things like this before. But I'm not okay with calling him clutch. He has played in 10 finals games and hasn't scored over 25 points in any of those 10 games, he averages 28 ppg for his career. It's very clear that he shrinks under pressure.
scoring ppg is a horrible argument for clutchness. all you have to do is say that the dude doesnt perform well in the finals. that's the truth.

Why did Kobe blow in the clutch for the first 3/4 of the season? Shit happens. You expect someone to do the same thing every single night of the season? Because someone didn't perform well in a previous game it means he can't step it up in future games? How does one affect the other?

Of course I watched the game. And my point is, you are basically insisting all the stars were aligned so that LeBron was able to face a defense that "let" him drop 17 points on them to close out the game tonight. He's that lucky? No team has ever played this type of defense before this season to allow another player of his caliber or worse to drop 17 on them?

You don't like basketball. You enjoy hating on LeBron and massaging Kobe's genitals. It's painfully obvious. You'll say anything to prop up Kobe (not sure you've said anything negative about him or acknowledged anything negative about him all season) and anything to put down LeBron (not sure you've said anything positive about him or acknowledged anything positive about him all season). You're a joke dude.

And when he had the performance a big deal was made out of it just like this one. No one is denying Durant has been more clutch this and last season, but for you to act like he does this (and this as in 10-15+ straight points to close out a game) "on the regular" is plainly false. Hell you'd be hard pressed to find a handful of examples of that, and yet you make statements like "on the regular."

I just checked. Durant's 20 point 4th quarter was done in 12 minutes. He was in for the whole quarter. Also, OKC had a 10 point lead with 3 minutes remaining. It wasn't all "clutch time".

Again, no one is talking about Lebron scoring 17 points in the 4th quarter. A 17 point quarter is not that big of a deal for these super-stars.

It's 17 points in the last 5:35 minutes of a game in which his team was either losing or winning by only 2 for the entirety of those 5 minutes, making those entire 5 minutes qualify as "clutch time".

Find me a game where Durant has done that. I'll be waiting.

it absolutely is. Truth is, his championship was won with Shaq, Mourning, Payton, Riley, etc. That's A LOT of help.

And here's another reason why I can't enjoy this night.

When i first saw your comment i thought it was directed to those Kobetards/Lebron haters who still want to find a way to bash him.... but you mean me? Haha.. Yes, the problem is Wade for Lebron and problem is Lebron for Wade, in the sense of for example Lebron not being able to have these type of games in the 4th... if Wade was there while Lebron was doing this that means Lebron alienated Wade the entire quarter.... and thats what it takes for Lebron to take all the shots in the 4th and be 100% agressive like tonight or ANY 4th quarter he had this season without Wade, to alienate Wade....

Many times i see people go: "Where is Lebron? Why isnt he doing anything? Why are his clutch stats down?" and so on... and the problem is simple, he has Wade and there is only one ball... its not a negative thing, it just means he is sharing the ball with Wade at all times and cant be his old one-man-army Cleveland Lebron self and takeover the game while the rest are basically spotup shooters waiting in the corners.... like tonight... is Wade just a spotup shooter? Do people want Lebron to be selfish and alienate Wade? Thats what it takes if you want to see Lebron have 4th quarters like these....

Yup, all 4 of them in the twilight of their career...Wade carried that team to a title.

Eh, I gave the quote a good home.

:oldlol:

Yeah, but unfortunately Aesirs... playoffs coming up in less than 2 weeks.

Stick around .

Then after all that's done, take that vacation. :oldlol:

:banghead: basketball vs. exams....history's greatest dilemma.

I'll try to avoid this place like the plague. I find the NBA sub-reddit on reddit (of course) to be more amusing and far more objective. Here, it's like a holy war between Kobe stans + LeBron haters and LeBron supporters. I hate having to sift through so many posts to see a decent post from the likes of kblaze or catch24.

D-rose hits a big shot against Detroit: "OMG HE IS SO CLUTCH"
Kobe hits a big shot against Toronto: "OMG KOBE IS SO CLUTCH"
Lebron scores 17 straight points against the Nets: "HE STILL SUCKS! HE DIDN'T DO IT AGAINST A BETTER TEAM!"
What's wrong here?

Off course, it's nothing against you man. I've never really had a problem with you or anybody here.

Some trolls in this post ruined this night more than what you said, anyways.

I just think the LeBron/Wade duo shouldn't be split up.

As for the rest of your post, well done. I see what your saying. I just don't think they should be split up or anything like that.

My problem with them is none of the Big 3 no how to play off the ball basketball very well through all 4 quarters.

Come playoff time, I'm expecting them to dominate and yes, LeBron AND Wade are going to have to carry both loads from time to time in the 4th. It's just going to have to be.

But hey, if they win a title... I think all mediums should be happy with the results.

Plus, I think servers are going to slowed down a lot. Unfortunately, you will only find the Kblaze posts nowadays... catch hasn't been around posting for a while, must be busy as hell with whatever he's doing.

You Lebron haters are pathetic. Absolute gutter trash. Lebron pulled it out in the 4th quarter in amazing fashion and all you guys can throw out is excuses for why it shouldn't matter.

Mark my words: If the Heat win a title this year EVERY hater will say this season didn't count because it was shortened. Count on that. It's just the way the haters are.

It was the most straight points to finish a game by one player this season. This isn't something that happens all the time; despite some people acting like it's no big deal. Appreciate good basketball.

Meh, I don't really give a flying **** when it's against a shitty team without some of their best players.

I'll probably completely forget about it by tomorrow morning.

its funny. posters are no where to be seen when he puts in clutch performance after clutch performance against the bulls and celtics in the playoffs. even these regular season games.

though they wait for him to slip up once, and act like its a constant.

people then say 'hes not clutch until he does it in the finals and wins'. well how in the hell do the same people say rose is, or durant...

For the last time, it's because he has more haters than those two.

That's pretty evident on ISH and in the real I'm sure as well.

rose shoots in the 30% range in the clutch while lebron is in the 40%.

you're right. lebron is far superior. my bad for even insinuating it was close.
