But whatever nice of him to play with kids:bowdown:

I was very much expecting posts about how Dwyane proved once again he could finish in the clutch, despite playing uninspired ball for most of the contest.

I'm not a big Heat fan, as others have said, but I always think it's great when this type of thing happens. Clearly one can't expect stars to always do stuff like this but when they do, it's special. Very cool.

P.S. I'm also surprised no one made the claim this proves Wade plays in a weak era. I was expecting, "If he dominates the NBA, but struggles against this competition at the park, then what's that say about this era of NBA?"

That must have been so uncomfortable. His dress shirt was tucked underneath his dress pants, wearing dress shoes. Atleast the kids weren't going all out trying to do crazy moves just to impress Wade.:lol

He had basketball shoes on, but still yeah the attire isn't comfy.

I'm surprised more people didn't start showing up out of nowhere to watch along the fences.

A while ago after work I was on my way to happy hour with a few coworkers and on west 4th st, around greenwich village area, Allen Houston was in some sort of commercial where he and some othe guy were playing 2 on 2 and the entire park was just packed people watching. No love in NYC for non-Knick players I guess.

He wasn't in the cage which has a lot of traffic and people looking at the games. He was just at some random court, unnanounced. I'm sure a lot of people would have stopped by if they knew he was there.

I know Soho very well but I don't know where this is. It looks like night time is about to hit. A mob in NYC can spur up in a moments notice but this place is off the beaten path. I remember watching games in West 4th street park and Tmac and Webber just showed up and started playing. West 4th street is very high profile park. But then I looked around and saw cameras in the trees and guys on roof tops filming. I think it ended up on a Sprite commercial.

He wasn't playing 3 on 3 with 2 guys wearing the Australian women's basketball team uniform was he(Houston I mean)? Because it may have been for two Australian guys tv show.

Weren't you trying to prove that his intention was pure, that it wasn't a PR stunt? I'm not saying that it was, but saying that there weren't many people because it was unannounced doesn't mean that he didn't know the video would hit the internet. That's all I'm saying.

Great story. I always wondered if that feeling ever got old for NBA superstars (or NBA players, period); that feeling of walking into a place, not having people recognize you, only to reveal yourself as one of the greatest players in the world.

Thanks, I was at Ben's pizza only last fall. The film made the park seem smaller and darker. That corner has a lot of activity/traffic. Doesn't that seem odd to you that people didn't build up at dusk - especially with the good weather we have been getting lately?

I saw Amber on 34th and 9th earlier this year. But Soho has a lot of celebrities passing thru.

Probably the absolute wrong response for a famous person in such a situation. However, despite whatever imperfections a celebrity may hold, I can always sympathize with their having to walk in public knowing an endless stream of random people are always going to want to walk up and meet you just to walk up and meet you. It sort of reminds me of that Thomas Elliot video posted a week ago (the guy who very easily convinced a mall of young women that he was a celebrity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Ko6Xfa84w). People will just flat out flock, and as cool as that'd be for a while, after 10 years, I'd understand if celebrities had off-days in terms of how they handled such a lack of privacy, even in public.

Nice.

What's funny is that when I was watching, I saw Houston missing tons of shots. You'd imagine he'd still have some of his jumper left, and be swishing everything. But he was honestly bricking like 4 or 5 in a row. I dunno, maybe they were just shooting the parts of the show where they were struggling? But yeah, it wasn't pretty when I was there, so I left :lol
