True. If LeBron doesn't win it it will mean that nowadays the MVP has nothing to do with basketball skills and it's a media darling thing (eg Derrick Rose aka Mr. Humble, Durant...)

I guess KD actually has a strong chance of winning MVP. I forgot how much people HATE Lebron James. :lebronamazed:

KD winning over lebron would be blasphemy for the league.

Yeah, but I can see it happening for the reasons stated in the article.

It's not that Durant is unworthy, but I think most people know that LeBron should be MVP.

Media riding James hard this season. First he was giving greatest season performance of all times.. then defensive player of the year...

They are trying re-boost market value of Lebron James. He was killing with "villain" persona and finals failure last year. He is the only global icon left (with Kobe) so NBA must milk him.

I'm still at least 90% sure that Durant will get it. If LeBron gets snubbed for this MVP this year, the award will lose quite a bit of credibility.

I think LBJ will also win defensive player of the year award, along with league MVP.

This MVP award could be the biggest rip off in NBA history. Durant's team is filled with better players than LeBron's (Ibaka is almost a wash with Bosh when factoring D), Harden is better than Bosh, Westbrook has had a better year than Wade, and Perkins is better than any other Heat player than the big 3.

Then there is LeBron's superior numbers, defensive impact (may win DPOY now that Howard is out). Oh yeah LeBron's team is what 14-1 without their second best player? LeBron's team is on the same level record wise as Durant's. There is no pro Durant argument, unless you think defense is 99.99% of the game.

Every year Lebron can't win is a rip off according to his fans, i guess :lol

Doesn't have much credibility left, to be honest.

At this point, it doesn't matter to me any more. The MVP is no longer what it used to be years ago. Now, it's more of a popularity contest. Let Lebron win it for the 3rd time cuz, for the last several years it seems to be a curse. Whomever gets MVP, doesn't also win a championship. Of course Lebronytes will want to say different, but the MVP seems more like a consolation prize to the NBA title now. Just like when Rose won it last year, all you could hear from Lebronytes was how he was supposedly the fake MVP and supposedly stole it form Lebron. Like Lebron's name is engraved on the MVP trophy or something. Hilarious.:sleeping

They can give him all the MVP's from now to the next 5 years, STILL won't make him any more comparable to Jordan. When was the last time you had an MVP who won a title in the same year?:confusedshrug:

You could make a case for LeBron to win DPOY, but I think Tyson Chandler is gonna win It.

Tim Duncan back in 2003. So yeah, I get your point. Nearly a decade since a player has won both MVP and won a title/Finals MVP in the same year.

Kobe came close in 2008, only 2 wins away...

It just goes to show how freaking rare it is for the best player to also be on the best team.

Another reason why Michael Jordan probably has the best case for GOAT, if anybody questions it.

Man did it 4 times (91, 92, 96, and 98). Should have more than arguably gotten MVP's in 93 and 97 too.

Barkley and Malone found out the hard way. :pimp:

Lebron won't get it. media don't know shit about basketball. that Rose won it last year proves it. they can't even see through the real reasons the Bulls were good last year. defense and coaching. now they're being exposed as stupid voters.

and media ppl are extremely biased and vote purely on whom they like/dislike. trying to ask them to vote using basketball measurements are like asking pigs to fly. Durant will get it. case closed.

This is signature worthy. Shaq should have been the MVP in 2001.

so did Barkley in 1993. 2 wins away against MUCH SUPERIOR Competition.

MVP sweep is rare.

Hakeem did it once.
Shaq did it once.
Magic did it once.
Bird did it 2wice. SICK!
MJ did it 4 times. SICK!!

I was talking about the last time it was pulled off and that was in 2003.

Kobe was the closest to get at it, since Duncan.

And yeah, those other times were pretty sick too.

If Finals MVP existed from the start, like MVP, Bill Russell would have done it 5 times. :applause:

This is true. And you left out the fact that this game was basically a playoff game for Houston as they are now out of playoff contention because they lost to Miami.

Sorry for drafting our players.
Its lebrons fault he wanted to join up wiht his 2 best buddies and in effect, could not get a proper team built around him.

That said, Lebron is MVP this year.

But its kinda stupid saying OKC has better players.
The best team will win the NBA finals and at this point, it aint gonn abe the thunder. The heat have a much better chance.
So in my eyes, heat are the better team.
