Made back to back tough 3s late in the 4th quarter and and the one legged Dirk fadeaway late in OT, not to mention guarding Wesbrook throughout the game and holding him to 3-22 shooting.

Lets not exaggerate things here. Kobe shadowed and guarded Westbrook but he didn't really shut him down per se, rather, Westbrook had a cold night. As for Kobe being clutch? More often than not Kobe misses those shots, but tonight he made them so cudos to Kobe. Moreover, had Kobe made his shots throughout the course of the game it's unlikely the Lakers would need a comeback.

And you'll find plenty of possessions where Westbrook got by Kobe with ease only to run into the LA's help defense. It's this same kind of overrating Lebron's fans do when he's guarding Rose. It's ridiculous.

That was in the double OT when Kobe was exhausted. GTFO he had only 6 points in 47 mins of game duration.

Have you watched Westbrook this month? The guy has been laying bricks like it's going out of style. I'm not shocked when Westbrook has a bad shooting game any more than when I see Kobe have a bad shooting game. They're both volume chuckers.

Funny how you consider 50% shooting Kobe's plateau. Lay off his nuts man...the shooting by and him and Westbrook was atrocious. I mean Kobe was clutch as hell, especially after bricking all game, but that's about it. He pulled through in the clutch...cool, but let's not act like he KILLED IT or shutdown Westbrook. Westbrook was getting to open spots and bricking his shots himself. Good effort by the Lakers keeping their heads in the game, but you gotta expect to win when the 2 best scorers on the other team are failing all night and the 3rd best isn't even playing.

And thats why that stat is ****ing retarded. Kobe in clutch today according to some metrics: 0-2. Even though really he was like 4-6 and extremely clutch.

Game winning shot stats are not retarded. They just show how a player performs in those situations.

Nobody would ever solely look at that when evaluating a player in the clutch or in a game.

Literally every single shot Kobe made today in the clutch is counted in some capacity by all the same metrics.

Kobe was super clutch today. But he did miss two game winning shots. I don't understand how you think this stuff is "retarded".....

Its just a record of makes and misses. It's literally the same thing as just watching the video. Everything Kobe did will be recorded accurately.

Very impressed with Kobes defense that game and in the clutch.... the wild shots falling in all of the sudden in the clutch is like good karma after he shot so bad previously, he was eventually gona hit SOMETHING and that happened during the correct time :D

I was crackin up when dude made a pointed oval shape then punched out the clay and the middle became the game winner from a MIL game.

Kobe is my ace though and it's great he can still get it done in clutch time. You're never gunna be 100% in those instances but I'm glad he got it done vs the best team in the NBA because for a few games, he missed at the end off the top of my head.

One of the best to ever play the game

There's the gift and the curse with Westbrook. You're absolutely right, but he was also the guy taking it hard to the hole and drawing fouls (and knocking down the free throws) late in the game when OKC couldn't hit the side of the barn. Durant missed some easy J's that he normally knocks down but that's the time when you need to do what Westbrook did and take it to the hole and draw fouls. :facepalm As much as Westbrook is a volume chucker, that team needs him and last night showed why. Without Westbrook, LA wins without needing to go to overtime.

If only Durant wasn't so in love with the J...

Kobe deserved credit cause he definitely grinded out the win today. Durant missed easy shots while Kobe made some tough ones. That one legged shot got him going and OKC (Durant) kept settling for jumpshots when they should have been attacking the hole.

He's right, Thabo didn't step out of bounds.. but the ball clearly touched the line which they pointed out a few minutes later.

Dumb producers.

Yea, his foot was clearly inbounds, but they showed a clip of the ball hitting the line a couple minutes afterwards. I thought we got bailed out until that was shown on replay.

I'm glad they caught it and played the clip, but it was strange how they didn't make it a big deal at all when it seemed like the incorrect play was called. It mad e it seem like there was a cover up for the bad officiating. I would have been PISSED as an NBA fan on national TV.

I just hope the reason they didn't make a huge fuss over it is because they felt like they needed a better view and they were giving the ref the benefit of the doubt because he was right there.

Agreed on all counts. I didn't understand why the last play at the end of the 4th as well as the first OT wasn't called for Westbrook. KD settled on the first play taking a stepback three which was a terrible shot and at the end of OT, the ball ended up out of bounds off of Ebanks with KD crossing over and Westbrook was forced to a really tough shot on the inbounds play. He was the only one really attacking the rim and pressuring the defense albeit he did make some bad decisions. At least his confidence didn't look questionable unlike KD's who seemed a bit hesitant. Who knows, they might've been trying to get KD a nice moment perhaps to boost his MVP chances.

Kobe was on westbrook every posession when he was in. Perkins set some illegal screens which may have made some1 else end up on him. Westbrook missed some open shots but its cause 80-90% of the time he wasn't getting good looks at all.
