View Full Version : As a Laker fan, im done with Ron Artest aka "World Peace"

This guy has pretty much cost the Lakers a legit chance at making an honest run in the playoffs due to him essentially not being able to control basic impulses.

Dude clearly has a ton of demons, and issues to work out, and im irritated, that he's looked great lately but not we will not be able to depend on his services.

He let his team down, he let the fans down.

I honestly believe this is the last time you'll probably see this man in a Lakers uniform. Im growing increasingly tired of his, and Bynum's antics. I feel like the Lakers should be BETTER than that.

I wouldnt be sad to see "Metta" go after this season. If we cant depend on you, then wtf are you good for? You start off out of shape, looking like sh*t....

You improve, play solid, and then get suspended because you damn near take a guy's head off? COME ON.

So what say you Laker fans? Are you SICK of this guy yet??

Metta has issues and has been an example for almost every time since the brawl at the palace...I feel bad he fell for this again, cause he tries and deep inside we all know he has a good heart.

That's what's also terrible.. he has let his team down. He had been playing great, and he could have possibly cost the Lakers any chance at advancing far this year.

Lakers fans should be pissed at him.. though some (SOME) continue to have a laugh. Hope those same people enjoy watching Matt Barnes try to defend KD :oldlol:

Put it to you like this... If Ron is out for 10+ games, you can basically kiss championship hopes goodbye.

If he isnt able to play for a majority of the OKC series (if they get past the first round etc) and OKC has Harden back by then as well? Pfft.

As a Laker fan, I am disappointed in his actions. Am I done with him? Meh, depends on the alternative. Frankly, I think Barnes is up to the challenge. Barnes will be fine, except against certain players (Lebron, Durant). Ebanks will be OK off the bench. Metta was actually fairly clutch, and that will be seriously missed in the playoffs.

Its RON ARTEST. What did you guys expect when we signed him? While it was completely unwarranted and stupid, they still need him if they're gonna get anywhere. Now this depends on his suspension obviously but I don't think it should be more then 3 or so games. people taking it to extremes of 10+ games are crazy. Unless Harden ends up in a coma or something he should be back halfway through the first round.

dude, it really isnt about how injured harden was because of ron's actions. Dude felt contact, and threw a really hard elbow at someone's head in a "back off" move. Completely unacceptable.

Now, I know ronron is used to playing games where players get a table leg through the heart but he lost his head and acted like an unreliable, dangerous person. Especially when you consider his history (biggest black eye in the recent NBA and destroyed a really good pacers roster) and known psychoses.

I think the commissioner will fell obligated to set a no tolerance type of penality, as the move was both between possessions and clearly intentional, while not thought through or premeditated.

Makes 0 sense to argue with someone coming with that shit. People are exaggerating...that's hilarious. I keep seeing the follow-thru, and that idiot then running like the adrenaline is really keeping him from realizing he probably just knocked someone out.

He was waiting for Ibaka...and now this guy is there talking like "OMG..looks bad."....seriously, what the hell is wrong with him? The more he talks like that the more you realize there is NO REMORSE. That has nothing to do with being crazy. Grow the **** up Artest.

MWP's game has been picking up ever since Kobe's injury. He's now in shape & more effective offensively. He helped us win a championship two years ago & I believe it can happen again....worst case scenario he's out for Thursday's game & the first round of the playoffs.

10 games is too much to you, but according to what you just said, 4 games (series minimum) multiplied by 3 (as you said 1 playoff game equals to this) = 12 games. At least. But you're completely right. 12 games sounds about right. You can probably look forward to more.

This. We didn't sign Artest because he was a model citizen--we signed him because Mitch and co. knew we needed to be a tougher, more physical team if we were to meet Boston again. And what do you know, Artest was one of the primary reasons we beat Boston. I love Ariza, but we wouldn't have won that year with him as our SF. Everyone knew what we were getting into signing the guy, and so far the benefits have outweighed the craziness because we've got a championship, in part, thanks to him.

Since Fish has been dealt, RonRon had become my new favorite Laker player.

This incident, although gruesome, does not change that. There is no defending what he did, just like then he clocked Manu with an elbow when he was with Sacramento in the first round, can't defend that. Just like when he rocked Barea, same thing. Ron's known to throw elbows.

I was clammoring for, "I want old RonRon back, the crazy Ron." Well, I got him, and I aint turning my back on him for doing something dumb in the heat of battle because its the PC thing to do.

KG throws elbows, everyone loves him. Kobe throws elbows, everyone blows him. Sure, non of those dudes elbows rattled a guys brain, but they still have the potential to, every elbow has the potential to cause massive harm. These guys are all big and strong, and ruthless on the court until something like this happens, don't get that mixed up.

Do I think what he did was wrong and should be punished, yes, abosolutely, a stiff penalty. Am I going to hate Artest for it? Nope. Only thing is, this incident will tame Ron, which is not what I want. He's going to play like some scared little girl because he don't wanna hurt anyone else, thats why I will hate Ron post Harden KO
