Kobe missing a ton of games down the stretch has helped Kobe keep close. There was no way Kobe was going to maintain that 28 ppg average if he didn't sit out. He probably would been averaging less ppg than Lebron right now if he didn't sit out.

Durant has a good chance, but the battle will come down to the last min. For the most part, If Durant averages 30 points between the last game and this one, Kobe needs to drop 44 in the last laker game of the season. That's not really hard for someone like Kobe, especially if the team supports him and let him get the shots.

If Durant Averages 40, Kobe will need to drop 55 points. A lot harder, but once again, definitely possible for someone like Kobe.

If Mike Brown lets Kobe play 35+ minutes to achieve something as relatively trivial as a scoring title 2 days before the playoffs, he's a fool.

I would be dying if Wednesday's game starts with Durant hitting a 3, then he rolls his ankle and coach decides to sit him entire game.

He wouldn't need more than 35 if he shoots most of the shots. Kobe can get 20 points a half easily if in full control of the offense. Its not neccesarily trivial to Kobe just like it isn't to Durant. Both would be making some kind of milestone few others have accomplished. Durant gets 3 in a row, Kobe becomes the oldest player to get it.

:oldlol:

Check this out. Both Lebron James and Kevin Durant are currently in the Top 25 in Field Goal Shooting this season. Lebron James is at number 9 on 53% shooting with 1169 shot attempts. Kevin Durant is at number 22 on 49% shooting with 1274 shot attempts.

Guess What? Kobe's not even in the Top 40 for Field Goal percentage this season......

or Top 50...........

or top 60..........

Yes, he currently sits, ironically enough (at the time of this post) at the number 81 spot for Field Goal percentage shooting 43%, but with a League Leading 1336 attempts this year. And you're whining about "Stat-Padding".

Not exactly but I do remember that whole thing where LeBron was ahead up until the last week, and ended up taking like 15 shots/game the last week or two while Durant was scoring 30+ for those games. He didn't "let" him win, but he wasn't going for it the same way Durant was I don't think.

KD is a beast

how come scoring titles are so much easier than they used to be? i swear 5-6 years ago it took like 32 ppg to lead the league and there seemed to always be a handful of players who averaged 28+

...and he will probably lead the league in scoring a couple of more times considering Kobe (decreasing, unless he starts chucking 30 FGA) and Lebron (sharing the ball with Wade & Bosh, unless he alienates them and drops his usual ~30 ppg)....

Did you mean to say they have become harder? If less players can average that kinda numbers it means it has become harder considering it was a condensed season too KD's feat becomes even more valuable.

Don't kid yourself, Lebron is the main ball handler on the heat and takes as many shots as Durant while it's Westbrook who has the ball in his hands mostly and shoots as much as KD.

Your earlier post wasn't about "Wins over FG%", it was about "stat-padding". I showed you who was really the "stat padder" out of the Big 3 (Lebron, Durant, Kobe). And don't the Thunder have a better "Winning" record than the Lakers anyway? That means Durant wins in both categories (Wins and FG%) , so I don't know what your point is.
