In a playoff series the Lakers match-up great with the Spurs....Lakers size would give them a big advantage in a series.

The Spurs (as they've proven) can deal effectively with the Lakers' size and that they are too quick and deep of a team for LA to deal with. Let's not let one game against the lowly Nuggets get in the way of reason. Lakers aren't getting past the second round, for the second straight year.

After what I saw today? After game one of the first round against an average Nuggets team who played like crap? No one. There's not a current NBA team that can hang with this Lakers team. After today's win over Denver the Lakers are now the odds on favorites to win it all and, anything less than winning every series in 4 or 5 games, should be seen as failure. I can only think of two or three teams in NBA history that could beat the 2012 Lakers in a best of seven.

How's that for overreaction?

Lakers trolling everyone. Letting it go to 7 so MWP has a practice game before the 2nd round.

But seriously, so far you have to give Denver credit for playing this hard and making it this challenging for the Lakers. At the end of the day though, a game 7 in LA with Kobe/Bynum/Gasol...Denver isn't winning that, with all due respect.

I have too hard of a time seeing Denver win 3 games in a row against Kobe/Bynum/Gasol. I know their offense was the best in the league and everything, but for them to beat LA it would take a massive melt down and with the veteran players on the Lakers it's not looking like it's happening. Remember 2009 when the Lakers were blown out in game 6 against the Houston Rockets and then came right back and blew them right back out in game 7? This team is too good to let that happen. I'm not saying anything isn't possible, it's just not in the "likely" category at all.

The Mavs also went on to be champs though. Again, I don't see Denver comparing to them in terms of that. I know we're talking about a sweep vs. a game 7 win, but I still don't see them having much of a chance. Again, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if I am, but for now...don't see it.
