He will win his first finals MVP this year. Bird was 28 yrs.old when he won his first Finals MVP. The Miami Heat are a much better team this season. LBJ is also a much better player.

Nothing's guaranteed, especially with the way the Spurs are playing. Miami is kind of thin after the big 3, but we'll see.
Bron could duplicate the season he has had NEXT season and wouldnt win MVP. He'd have to literally average a triple double to win it again. Otherwise wait a full season so someone else gets the award then be back in the lead the following season. You know voters will operate this way. Because honestly he could win this award damn near yearly.

Coach Spo needs to tell his boys to play some physical defense againts the Spurs. The Heat swept the Spurs in the regular season, but the playoffs are a different ball game.
I'd take the Heat in 6 games. Spurs will beat the Thunder in the Conference Finals.

Time for the MVP to not win the championship curse to continue. Thank you lawd
Lebron has now as many MVPs as Larry Bird, Moses and Magic Johnson have for their entire career and he is only 27.... :pimp:
Congrats... we all know how good you are Lebron, but now its time to start spamming some rings!

CP3 was #2 on my list, but let me explain why your reasoning is faulty:
The Clippers with CP3 aren't as good as the Heat and OKC with their respective stars, therefore they should be worse when you remove each star. If they all had the same record, then you could make the case removing one would leave a team substantially worse.

actually, he already said this
James said last week that while another MVP award "would be amazing and would be humbling," it's not what drives him. In his ninth season, James still has not won an NBA title and it's clear that, although he wanted to reclaim the MVP trophy, winning a championship is far and away his top basketball priority.

CP3 was the most valuable to his team I agree. But LeBron was a more valuable player in terms of what he did in the league. It's hard to distinguish what the actually meaning of the award is, so I guess it's open to interpretation by the voters. There isn't really a set criteria is there?

There is no official criteria but hypothetically there is.... its easy to find out if you take a careful look at all the MVP winners in NBA history.... they all had two things incommon....
1. All MVP winners were on teams who had one of top 4 best team records during the season... what this says is that a player can not win the MVP if he doesnt have one of 4 best team records... maybe can win it if you have the 5th best team record or so but there you will need to produce like a behemoth, something like a 50 point quadruple double or something.. lol..
2. All MVP winners were the best players in their teams and were more valuable to their teams than any of those other players in those 4 top teams..... Taking for example a horrible supporting cast to one of the 4 best team records will guaranteed win you the MVP all the time, thats showing the most valuability..... latest example is Lebrons first 2 MVPs and D.Roses MVP....
Going by these 2 requirements you will find out that each and every MVP winner was the correct winner.... this season for example:
The top 4 team records this season:
Bulls
Spurs
Thunder
Heat
Out of those 4 teams and those teams MVPs (Rose, Parker, Durant, Lebron) it was Lebron who was the best, most impactful and most productive player... the closest to him was Durant.... who rightfully so will be a runner-up....

Well it was Lebron at first, and second, and third, and then after Miami struggled around mid/late March Durant had somewhat of a case...but then Lebron grabbed it back in the last 10 games of the season as he dominated without Wade and without Bosh in many of the games.

Should of been Durant. Lets get Kyrie the ROTY award already!
I see no way you can make a legitimate case for Durant, outside of the fact that he's a really, really good player. He averaged just barely a point better in average scoring, had a slight edge in rebounding, but is not even close to the passer LeBron is, and in terms of defense, they aren't even in the same realm.
The argument that LeBron has Wade and Bosh doesn't work anymore, because Durant plays with Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka, who are all three tremendous players.
MVP is not meant for the best player in the game, but for the player that has the greatest impact upon the success of his team. In this case, LeBron is both. Not surprised; he's cementing his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

His MVP awards will be meaningless if he doesn't win a ring this year.
This is like saying being a billionaire is meaningless unless you're the richest person in the world.
It was close you dipshit, the voting result does not paint the real picture.
It wasn't close. It only become even a discussion when LeBron went a lil slump post all star break. That's it.

Worst analogy ever?
I think so.
I wouldn't say that at all. There's a very short list of 3 time MVP's in NBA history.
As far as his all-time great ranking goes ofcourse its not meaningless...
Yes, but for him personally... emotionally... or even for ANY MVP winners in NBA history they will all thank for the MVP and always end saying something like: "At the end, this isn't the award I want, I want that championship."
That is the ultimate accomplishment for a TEAM & TEAM PLAYER.... they want that icing (rings) on top of the cake (mvps etc)

How is that a bad analogy? Being a billionaire = 3 x MVP winner. Being the richest = winning the ring. Even if you don't have a ring, or you arent the richest person in the world, 3 MVP's is a hell of an accomplishment as is being a billionaire.
You seem mad, bro.

Oh, cry me a river. If we forget voting results.. and judge their performances and impact.. it was even a bigger reach for Durant.

MVP's just don't mean much to me without the rings. That's all.
And you guys were singing a much different tune last year when Rose won it, or in 08 when Kobe won it (I wasn't on ISH back then, but I'm sure lots of people were butthurt about it).

Yeah it was. It was close throughout the whole year until the last month of the season. That was when James ran away with it.
Regardless, congrats to LeBron. Deserved it. :applause:

You're not very intelligent, so I'm not surprised you would think this. You don't have the mind capacity to grasp it.

There aint no organized tournament for being the Richest man in the world you retard, you make as much as you make. People don't try to get rich to win a ring :facepalm

Yeah, it's not a great analogy. It'd be better if richest person were analogous to team instead of player, and if there were only 30 people in the world.

Durant has a bigger impact and he actually closes games, Durant is the one going for the title so Lebron can have 6 MVPs for all I care, but saying this was not close is CF86 kidna homerism which I have to admit does not surprise me coming from you lot.

Anyone know why Wade was below Rose in the voting table on NBA.com when he got more points?

Well deserved indeed.
LeBron James is the best player in the league right now. With Wade being out for extended periods in the reg season, that further helps LeBron's case.

Seeing as one of you two is a Heat fan and the other a OKC fan.. Let me say you sir are the ******* and retard out of the two. Lebron is clearly the MVP and 'Durant is the one going for the title'? Bitch please, if your life was on the line and you had to predict the team that'll win the championship this year you'd cry 'M-m-m-miami..'

Seriously, they need to stop making the voting process anonymous.
