View Full Version : Durant will never be an MVP as long Westbrook is his teammate.

I love Durant, but he doesn't deserve it and I'm glad he didn't get it.

There was a bunch of games in which Westbrook was the better player for the Thunder, plain and simple. People need to quit overlooking him. He is incredibly good (James Harden too, for that matter).

So the question is why is it different for Lebron, who plays with Dwayne Wade? Well, it wasn't a vintage Dwayne Wade season this year, for one. He missed nearly 20 games due to injury and played injured arguably most of the season. On the flip side, it WAS a vintage Lebron year. Those are my feelings. The right man got it.

Durant will win a MVP in the next year or two. You're blowing it out of proportion. He'd have won it this year if Lebron didn't have a ridiculously good year.

Durant is more consistent and more efficient than Westbrook. People give both players credit, but Durant gets the obvious nod as far as the teams most valuable player. This thread is pointless.

As long as KD and Russ start racking in rings, I doubt they will care

That's like saying LeBron will never win a MVP as long as Wade is his teammate.

Great teammates don't stop you from getting MVPs... it is about Ws and numbers...

I think if OKC was 1st seed KD would have won it.

Well to be fair to the OP, Durant pretty much locked up the MVP while Westbrook was out with an injury.

Actually the OP is not entirely incorrect, Westbrook being out is the biggest reason to what allowed KD to take away the MVP from Lebron... as long as he/OKC would still keep winning without Westbrook he was inevitably gona be the MVP considering how much more offensive freedom he would get to do much more of anything he wanted (he had career high usage%, FGA, everything...)

Westbrook being out certainly helped a bunch.

Even more reason why KD deserved MVP. Dwade was out for half the season and when bran had to step up he fell flat after he stat padded vs bobcats.
