I never thought about this before, but could it be indentations from cornrows they left in too long when they were a kid and their head was growing? And the cornrows prevented the scalp from growing out properly and evenly?

That's a sign of cocaine use during pregnancy. Their mothers must have snorted straight lines of cocaine.

These are, in fact, from child cornrows that were either top tight or left in too long. Battier had them as a child.

Cornrows also lead to balding or awkward hairlines so that is why some of these people don't try to hide the goofy lines with hair.

the force of the buzz cut shaver forced upon their scalp many times

Excess skin. It's similar to when a person gets deep lines/waves on their forehead when they raise their eyebrows.
