#1 option on a different team. He'd probably average something like 24 with 8 assists and he could probably be the best player on a pretty good playoff type team. He is so damn intelligent.

Yeah he's good, but MVP? Nah. I've always thought he was great, but he works best as a complementary player to another better player.

i dont watch him much so take this with a grain of salt but I think if teams didnt have to worry so much about durant and westbrook, hes not that hard to stop.

He drives like lebron without the physicality and size and it makes him pretty stoppable, also has only 2-3 moves. Just can't do very much. If he had to score 25 every game without 2 guys who can also do it alongside him, no way, I think he would be a top 15 player though.

How many players in NBA history have averaged 24 and 8 apg? I can only name Oscar, West, Tiny, MJ and Lebron.

So, yeah.

So, yeah.

Gary Payton also did it in '00, averaged over 24 ppg and almost 9 apg.

Michael Adams also did it. Averaged 27/11 in '91, though that's because of Paul Westhead's system, shoot within 5-6 passes, shoot within 1 pass or no passes, and press to force a faster pacer, and turnovers.

A few others have basically done it, Bird was at 28 ppg and 7.6 apg in '87, and 24 ppg and 7.5 apg in '90. Magic averaged 23.9 ppg and 12 apg in '87, Iverson averaged 31 ppg and 7.9 apg in '05, and Derrick Rose averaged 25 ppg and 7.7 apg in '11.

Edit: Almost forgot Marbury who was close at 23.9 and 7.6 in '01 And Wilt actually did it in '68, completely forgot about him. Averaged over 24 ppg and almost 9 apg. Basically did it in '67 as well with 24+ and 7.8 apg. Wade was also at 30 ppg and 7.5 apg in '09.

But yeah, Harden isn't averaging 24 and 8. Just a really solid player, could've been an all-star. But he's not a top 10 player or anything.

Also Chamberlain in '68 from the pivot. He nearly did it in '67 as well. :applause:

The Sun - Apr 3, 1967

Chamberlain is an entirely different player now than he was when he was almost strictly an offensive performer, and the 76ers are a better team because of the transformation. He hardly takes a shot now if it isn't a dunk or a tip. But he gets the rebounds, sets picks like a giant Redwood and sacrifices himself to set up teammates.

i dont think it has hit basketball fans yet how good harden really is. He could possibly be the top SG in the NBA soon, his haters should just face it.

At this point, Harden is a very good complimentary player. Let's not go overboard with MVP talk.

As good as Wade in other words.

How many more minutes would he be playing as a starter?

Harden is really good, but lets not go over board here.

Also, as a starter, he wouldn't be coming in and facing second team players.

And if he's starting on OKC, Durant and Westbrook are taking some of his shots away. That's why it's good having him come off the bench with both of them taking a rest.

Harden enjoys so much freedom because Durant and Westbrook takes so much attention away from him. put him as the number one option in a team and his life becomes much harder.

westbrook could never win it with the record they have
Lebron has the stats, but doesnt have the record however like Curry, has a pretty good squad all year to compliment him, too. not happening
Curry, see above, and best record...null and void IMO
Harden beasting from beginning to end with so many injuries, and still having the 2nd-3rd best record in the league...no brainer

Harden deserves the MVP hands down

You weren't wrong. He is not hard to stop come playoffs. However he is a regular season beast, 1 of 2 MVP candidates :applause:
