The most epic CHOKE I have seen all season. The LAKER defense handed the game on a sliver platter to him and he basically built a house the last 5 minutes of the 4th. Let's see if ESPN gives this 10% the attention they did to LeBron's finish last night.

And Kobe fans better prepare themselves for the sh!tting their boy is about to receive after their obnoxious yesterday.

That was actually a well designed play. They were doing everything possible to deny Kobe the ball and if he did get it, he would have probably been 30 feet away from the rim and double teamed. Blake had pretty much a wide open look from the short corner. Derek Fisher probably would have drained that.

Mirko Cro Cop
05-17-2012, 12:24 AM
No, that was a good play by Blake but he missed. Well no one makes all their shots but Kobe would have had Sefalosha right in his face 2 feet outside of the 3 pt line and would have barely hit the rim...

midatlantic09
05-17-2012, 12:24 AM
Ummm...it looked like Kobe ran AWAY from the ball. I don't know what he was trying to do, but he should have gone towards the ball to retreive it and taken his man one on one, not try to loop around and run to the opposite side of the court in an attempt to catch and shoot off of a cross court pass. It was almost like he didn't want the responsibility of taking the last shot.

I blame Kobe for the breakdown of that last play (that resulted in Blake taking a 3 from the corner).

No, Blake was WIDE OPEN since Westbrook was checking out the cheerleaders or whatever the hell he was looking at at the opposite basket. World Peace made the right play and Blake had a GREAT look, Kobe was hemmed up at the opposite end of the floor.

Shot just didn't drop, nothing you can do about that. This game's outcome is 10000000% on Kobe's shoulders, no getting around that (especially when he wasted so much time the possession before). Shouldn't have come down to a last second jumper in the first place.

Umm...yeah, that play was fine. Good call by Artest to pass to Blake. Westbrook was bailed out by Blake otherwise he'd be getting trashed for not guarding anyone on the last play.

But the Kobe trashing is because he gave up the 7 point lead within 2 minutes left all by himself pretty much. Two turnovers and two misses. Ridiculous, LOL.

Yes but it's Steve Blake. I don't care what he did against the Nuggets that was last series. Realistically he was what 1 for 3 before that shot? If Fisher is taking that shot and misses no biggie, but game winning shot has that extra pressure that role players aren't used to.

Kobe has no reason to be angry since Blake was wiiide open. Good decision by Metta passing to blake. Good on blake for not hesitating to shoot a wide open shot. A team loss foremost but yeah he blew it with the turnovers. We are not going to beat this team with a 75pt game...our bench sucks too bad and Brown needs to do things better offensively, drawing up plays. The triangle should be back....pick n roll ain't gonna cut it with Blake and Sessions. They have proven they are scrubs. The "Kobe" closing every single game thing ain't gonna work anymore on a continual basis and this has happened before. Not in the same fashion, not the same scenario but very similar. So although this is the playoffs, it's not something I wouldn't say wasn't coming, we were due for this for a long time......how much longer can you milk a guy in his 16 yrs in the NBA. He's old and sloppy....time to wake up and do things better rather than Kobe Kobe Kobe.

Haha. I know. It was such a jinx. Right after I commented on your post all hell broke loose.

I am sorry you guys lost. I want this series to go 7. Just so crazy. They did the exact same thing to the Mavs. We were up 7 with a few minutes left and Dirk turned it over a couple times and we missed some shots and they made everything. And it changed the whole series. We blew game 1 and then had a 50/50 chance in game 2. Losing both ended the series. There is a fine line between winning and losing. We got swept, but we also could have easily been up 2-0.

Hopefully the Lakers come out better than the Mavs did in game 3. I bet you guys do. I don't know how good this Thunder team actually is, but I do know two things. The Mavs sucked this year...and the Lakers are much better than the Mavs.

So hopefully the Lakers can get the next 2 and we see a great series.

Also, hopefully Ibaka and Collison aren't allowed to maul Gasol all game. I'm getting sick of watching that shit.

So hopefully the Lakers can get the next 2 and we see a great series.

Also, hopefully Ibaka and Collison aren't allowed to maul Gasol all game. I'm getting sick of watching that shit.
There in LA now so Gasol should be able to freely move a little better. Kobe losing this one for the team might help relieve some pressure off everyone else hopefully seeing that he is not perfect by any means and they are just as capable of coming through in tight moments.

I had no issue w/ Blake's 3, he was wide open. The game shouldn't even of come down to that final Blake shot. If you wanna look for blame, blame Kobe for gifting the Thunder 2 critical possessions that eventually won them the game.

Haters are so blind with their own stupidity, it's pathetic. The biggest difference is, Kobe would've taken the shot, if he had gotten the ball. Whereas Lebron....well....you know.......

yep.

my blame

95% Kobe
5% metta world peace

I find it inexcusable how selfish he was. Like I'm not about to make a big deal over mettas 5%, but I think they should be mentioned. He was soooooooo selfish. The bench came out at start of 4th and he never gave it to pau and just took 4 HORRIBLE shots and missed em all.

Hey I just realized, metta and kobe played basically the same way.. one took over the first 2 min the other took over the last 2 min. rofl. I cannot believe this

i'm far from a kobe fan but i find it funny that people are criticizing him for chucking down the stretch and being scared of taking the last shot. Frankly speaking kobe/lebron fans need to grow the **** up and quit all the back in forth but I guess it would be considered boring to just talk about real basketball.

Well you posted in this thread?

Not a "real" basketball thread.

Steve Blake was just the scapegoat... poor guy.
The last 2 minutes of the game was the reason why they lost, the whole team lost it, not one single player.
Kobe was terrible in that 2 minutes span, that's true though.

No way, if he attempted to pass it to Kobe, it was going to be stolen again. That wasn't a bad attempt, Blake just couldn't hit.

Absolutely not. Kobe has a history of missing those shots and was ice cold in crunch time.

Great play by Brown.

Kobe acting like a bitch afterwards just shows he cares more about his glory than winning. Some things never change.

Wtf? They lost, Kobe choked away the game, and Blake missed, of course he's going to be pissed. However, if Blake hit that shot, and Kobe's still pissed, then he cares more about glory than winning.
