Has anyone broken a bone in their wrist/hand got it plastered up waited a few days and played?
I really want to play this wkd for my team but I'm wondering if refs will allow someone on the court with plaster on their arm.

I've played with a broken finger before; but I doubt they let you play with a broken hand/arm. I would obviously advise against it just cause there is always a possibility of making it worse...

This is a stupid question. Of course they won't let you play.

I played with a broken hand in Lacrosse. I don't know about basketball tho. Just need to find something to cover up the cast which would be impossible for a hand in basketball. With a wrist? I don't know .. could just try a thick sleeve thinger and try to cover it up.
Or just take the cast off for the weekend. Basketball with a broken bone seems tough as hell tho, probably end up turning it over like mad.

This is highly inadvisable. If it was just broken a few days ago, playing basketball is likely a terrible idea. On top of that, in a semi-official game with referees, I'm not thinking they'll allow you to play with a cast.
A number of weeks after I broke my wrist, I did play a little bit of pickup basketball but it was short lived because no one likes getting hit with a cast.
Separately, I'd also advise against taking the cast off on your own. I'm really not sure any basketball we're playing is serious enough to write off doctor's orders as mere suggestions.

bout 10 years ago i played with a sprained knee. actually i wasn't supposed to play but we only had 7 guys dressed up and 2 fouled out. good thing we had spare jerseys and i played for about 10 minutes i think. most of our points were in transition anyway and i only had to camp on the defensive end for bout half the time :D

When I played soccer people played with broken arms, they wrapped the cast in bubble wrap.

It's my scaphoid bone it's killing me right now but when I was in the hospital waiting room (4hrs) it was fine. I have this temp. Cast on and it's like 3kgs on my wrist it's prehistoric and is creating pain. If I get a small cast the pain will be way less and I could wear a long sleeve shirt over it or I could put hex pads/bubble wrap

Can I take the temp. cast off it's really annoying me I can't call anyone about it cos I went to a pleb hospital. If I take the temp. cast off now and then wait till monday (for proper cast) I'll be fine right. I can't sleep with this world war 2 antique like cast on my arm, I'm normally really deep sleeper and I gotta ball on Sunday. I'm looking @ those wrist braces you can get .. Caron Butler played with a broken hand didn't he.. I only broke the scaphoid (really small bone)
