What line up would be the most intimidating lineup (physically and mentally) for going in the paint and playing against?

Mine would be

PG Stephen Marbury
SG Stephen Jackson
SF Metta World peace
PF Dennis Rodman (with blonde hair)
C Shaquille Oneal

Soundwave
05-25-2012, 04:03 AM
C- Shaq
PF- Shawn Kemp
SF- Pippen
SG- Jordan
PG- LeBron

Bench: Oakley, Rodman, Lambeer, Isiah, Mutombo.

Was going to pick Malone or Rodman for PF, but decided to go with a bit of wild card in Kemp. Dude was crazy athletic.

Brunch@Five

tough and intimidating can mean two things. 1) willingness to lay down a hard foul, throw cheap shots and overpowering your opponent, or 2) not bowing mentally to 1), overcoming adversity, being clutch as hell and having the reputation of coming through every time.

team 1)

C Ben Wallace
PF Oakley
SF Artest
SG Dumars
PG Stockton

team 2)

C Russel
PF Duncan
SF Bird
SG Jordan
PG Magic

team 2) seems like an easy choice, but that's probably because those are among the top 7, 8 players. However, with those guys you KNOW they won't ever be rattled or in discomfort. That's why Wilt, Kareem, Kobe, LeBron, Malone or Shaq won't ever make that team, despite arguably being better individually.

I'd love to see team 1) play.

SF - Scottie Pippen (Jordan and Miller are called PG and SG, but they're really the "guards"... Pippen would handle the point duties)
PF - Kevin Garnett
C- Bill Russell

On the bench you'd have the Glove, Joe Dumars, Ron Artest, David West and either Bill Laimbeer or Ben Wallace.

There are many kinds of intimidation... a Bill Russell or a Michael Jordan, who acts like you've already lost the game, provides instant psychological intimidation, and a Bill Laimbeer physical intimidation, but a Reggie Miller type is also incredibly intimidating, in the sense that you're deathly scared of his 3 pt shooting and ability in the clutch.

Even if the best player in the league, no one was ever intimidated by Bron. Guy got called a bitch on national television in the Finals.

People don't do that to someone they're intimidated by ... Teams don't beg you to shoot jumpers if they're intimidated by your mentality or abilities. In fact they're preying upon your softness.

Paul Pierce even insinuated trash talk with MJ as he was gearing up for the 2002 season in pick up games and his coach immediately pulled him aside and told him that is the one guy you don't talk shit to and get him going. He'll embarrass you and stomp you out.

Isiah Thomas is why

That and considring you have Laimbeer who hated Jordan
Rodman who only listened to the coach

Its a powder-keg waiting to go off

The fact that Jordan hit his OWN teammates who were
even some of his friends and respected him
says something,He was clear top dog on those Bulls
and had free reign to do what he wanted

Some of these people hate him and have a bitter rivalry with him

They arent taking a backseat to Jordan especially Isiah

Oakley/Rodman
Laimbeer/Big Ben

Tons and tons of HMs, particularly older players whose reputations I don't know so well. Mahorn is pretty obvious, Dale Davis was a good one, as was Moncrief... but there are tons of others from before '95 that I just was not lucky enough to watch.

Tough=/= physique, tough is mental.

And Lebrons flopping fairy ass belongs nowhere near this thread

Seriously... try to imagine LeBron trying to defend/be defended by X-Man? :lol

He'd be on his ass all game long.
