I haven't seen him miss too many, but I don't really watch Boston too much so i don't know.
I do know though that Evan Turner is allowed to leave Rondo wide open on the perimeter and defend against other guys, so Philly a lot of times gets to go 5 on 4 against Boston's other 4 guys and this has helped them a lot. It's pretty ridiculous.

Like nobody in the NBA but rondo misses layups :facepalm

Yeah, I was just thinking that against the Lakers, they would have won the championship if only he hit a couple of the many easy layups that he missed.

At least Chalmers doesn't miss layups. It's VERY RARE for a professional player to miss a layup in a year. But to do it on almost regular basis? :facepalm
Something is wrong with Rondo's mechanics/timing.

On a regular basis? No, only Rondo does it with this kind of frequency.

Yeah, his timing's really bad. All those fancy passes with pinpoint accuracy and huge assist numbers definitely demonstrate he's got bad timing.
Rondo missing every layup he ever attempts >>> Chalmers

In a layup drill i'd take Chalmers over Rondo any day of the week

It's because this ***** Rondo doesn't understand 'change of pace'. He guns at the rim like he's in the middle of a fast break. You have to slow down your pace when you start to get to the rim or you are going to throw up an idiotic wild lay up such as Rajon Rondo does.

I think he meant his timing on layups, not every other aspect of his game.
I don't think it's his timing, but probably his arms, hands.
Just looked up and found this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxPWPQf13S8
His arms are those of a 6'9" guy, his hands are bigger than Lebron, and are more of a man taller than Yao Ming.

Pretty sure Wilt, MJ, Connie Hawkins, Jerry West and Dr. J never had issues with their arms and hands around a layup square :lol ... The whole big hands/arms = (excuse for shooting 3's/free throws/layups/etc) is just a selectively used myth riddled with contradictory evidence

This supports the argument that long arms and big hands are working against him how? :lol

It's in proportion to their body. Rondo's arms length doesn't mean that he's going to miss a layup every time in case that how people are taking it, just that he will miss more often than similar size point guard. I'm not going to go into deep details, but just imagine how somebody with such long arms would have a lot more movement when lets say shouting a jumper. To release the ball, it has to cover more distance, which complicates thing, than a similar movement from someone with arms more proportion. Draw a one inch quarter circle on your desk with your finger, and then do it again but a two feet one. Much longer distance to cover, much more movement. A few percentages more could equal layups, jumpers being slightly more difficult.

:lol this myth is only exceeded in mass by the holes in the evidence used to support it

lol funny thread because rondo makes some crazy layups most other players would miss, i think he just gets ahead of himself at times. Lettuce be reality, we can see in these final minutes he wants the ball, he wants to take over and he has.
Thats an intangible asset that we all know is more important than anything else. Guy steps up when he has too. Haters gon hate.

Apparently you've never seen Jason Kidd in action. Not only does Kidd not make layups... he rarely attempts anything inside the 3 point line:
This year, he stopped shooting 2a. This is his % of shots that were 3 pointers.
2007-08 31.15%
2008-09 52.27%
2009-10 61.70%
2010-11 65.60%
2011-12 81.68%
