The Celtics match up well with Miami even if the Heat get Bosh back. Neither team has a real C. Garnett/Bosh, Pierce/LeBron, Rondo and Allen/Wade, Bass/Haslem, the rest of the teams are pretty much even and Doc Rivers > Spo. Heat fans shouldn't celebrate the ECF already.

Nobody will have to if Boston relies on KG and Rondo for offense but they play like shit for consecutive games.

Lmao well played
why not??? who is going to guard Rondo/KG?
I didn't realize Rondo was some huge offensive threat. :biggums: Wade/Chalmers can guard Rondo fine, he's not going to score 25 PPG. KG is the problem.
I cant believe JVG said the key for the celtics was shutting down Chalmers :oldlol:

He said both Bron and Wade will get their 25-30 and filled up stat sheet. The toughest guard depth wise is Chalmers who can make big shots. The guy also can guard Pgs decent. If you completely get him out of rhythm, you can slow down the heat.
Battier, Jones, are very shaky and Mike Miller. None of them can go to the basket. Chalmers actually is a decent penetrator.
i think the real key is rest. Boston seems to play 'better' when on 2 day rest rather than 1 day rest during the sixer series. but during the heat series, they will not get any 2 day rests.

Miami is probably better off without Bosh in this series. Bosh always gets shut down by Garnett and is almost always a liability when going up against him. Now the Heat won't have to waste possessions trying to get Bosh involved and they can just continue their LeBron/Wade offense.
It's not like the Celtics can take advantage of the Heat's front-court anyways. If there is any team that has a worse front-court than the Heat, it's the Celtics.

Pretty much. Chalmers is the only guy outside of the big 3 who is likely to score in double figures as well. He's been very good in playoffs so far, he still needs to make less bonehead plays though (not like there's an alternative, as Cole makes Chalmers look like a genius).

Chalmer can drive to the basket and make floaters. he's a bit more consistent and scrappier.
Battier can't drive, he can defend and flop, but he's nothing to worry about.
Miller is so inconsistent but he can rebound, Box him out and contest his 3's
Haslem is tough and to me the matchup between him and Bass is crucial.
Bookmarked.
Chalmers will most likely average around 10 PPG. Battier will most likely shoot his usual 1/500, Miller will have 50% great shooting days and 50% useless days, and Haslem will at least rebound and play hard.

I think Miami's best lineup is without Chalmers. run Wade as the 1 and Miller or Jones at the 2 with Bron/Battier/Anthony. it allows Wade or James to be the primary ball handler more.

As long as Wade and Lebron keep being aggressive in the paint we'll be alright.
Bums just took ya'll to 7 games. lol
Not worried about Boston tbh.
Spo is our biggest liability though. :coleman:

Wade and James are the primary ballhandlers regardless as to whether Chalmers is on the floor. And no Battier is useless, Chalmers will hit his threes at least. Miller is too injury prone. Heat do better with Chalmers on the floor for the most part if I remember the +/- correctly.

I'm giggling at this guy because he doesn't even know his own teams averages. Nobody outside of Chalmers will consistently score double digits.

Oh yeah, agreed. Battier might be able to score in double figures depending on how long the series lasts, though :lol
Miller like I said will have a few games where he scores 8-15 and the other games he'll score 0-3
Haslem will score 5-6 most likely, with the occasional 10-12 game in there. Not counting on UD for offense, at least they shouldn't. If he still had his jumper he'd be much more dangerous (probably score 10-12 instead of 5-6 but ah well).

Look MIA fans, Im acknowledging that MIA will win in 6. The playoffs has shown that coaching can win you 1-2 games. Spoes is not good with adjustments, and Doc can take advantage of that. We also have one game a series where we will shoot 54% for a series.

Miami in 5. If the Celtics had a healthy Avery Bradley, Ray Allen, even Pietrus is a bit banged up, then I could say the Celtics could take it to 7 games and it would be a toss up.

damn we have a good match ups of big market teams.
How did stern do it? :D
Celtics really can't afford to have Ray Ray playing like he did against the Sixers. Really the only chance I see Boston winning is if their Big 4 fires and Bass plays consistently. Bradley would have been a great asset to at least give Wade problems, but unfortunately I see Miami taking this in 5 or 6

This is one of those series where there is enough insight into what's likely to happen to counter fan bias. It would take LeBron or Wade getting injured for Boston to win this. Boston still has absolutely no answer for Wade, who's peaking right now; LeBron will do his thing. Miami will get some output from Chalmers & co to put enough points on the board, while Boston's inconsistent offense will continue to cost them. The only upside for Boston is Doc vs Spo, which may be enough to take a game or two. Getting through the Spurs or OKC will be an entirely different mountain to climb, but Boston? :violin:

You forgot the part where they get swept by OKC/SA
Problem for Boston is that they don't have a bench either which really means that Paul Pierce has to play 45 minutes like Lebron does every day.
Same thing with all the rest of the old players.

Took me 45 minutes to come up with the right title and creative first post for this thread.
Success.
The Heat have the 2 best players in this series and the key for the Celtics is to limit their production to the point where Rondo, KG and Pierce can somewhat match it. If they can do that i believe the rest of Celtics role players can out play the heat role players. With that being said it is going to be tough for the Celtics to sustain that over a 7 game series; Miami had the advantage in easy points(Transition/Free Throws) and have more in reserve to close out games. With all that being said can you trust Miami's heart and mental toughness???. In their last series they showed great signs of heart and mental toughness but I guess their consistency in those regards will be tested as the post season progresses.

No one is taking into account that the Celtics are going to play alot of zone in this series something Indiana should have done with Wade and Lebron constantly attacking the rim (even Vogel joked about it going into the forth quarter of Game 4) and it has shown to slow both of them down in the past. Also the Heat can't front KG like they have been doing with Battier and Lebron since Rondo is capable of perfectly pass over the guy fronting for layups. That alone gives Boston a puncher's chance assuming Bosh isn't back.
Another factor no one is taking into account is as bad a rebounding team as the Celtics are they're better than the Heat minus Bosh.

I think it's going to be a good series.
If Boston didn't pop Avery Bradley's shoulder into place, literally every game, they might have him right now. And if they did what they should have done and went after Marcus Camby, then they would have a C and have Bass maximized as a 6th man.
But they were stupid, so there you go.
