I guess it also depended on how many officers were there on the scene. The offender didnt have any weapons (other than his teeth and ultra belligerent behavior ofcourse). I wasnt expecting them to tazer the crazy fella while he was eating since it'll most likely hurt the victim as well. I was expecting more of push off then taze or restrain him to the ground if the responders had the number advantage, then cuff him. Im not angry or anything since i dont know what the protocol is during situations such as this, it's just a thought.......

For those who watched the video: I don't know why but my assumption was that the attacker would be in some crazed animal state. Instead he's kind of deliberate. Takes the guys clothes off not in some hurry, goes for his face, not like the top predators would (Tigers, Lions, Bears, Wild Dogs). No matter how you describe this event you have savage animal ingrained into your head but the way it happens you wonder why isn't the guy in full animal mode? He picked a person that was weak and not capable of much fight back so he was in predator mode but predators don't go around looking to go at the face. .. Had it been a man of equal strenght I wonder how this would have played out? An attacked healthy man would have countered with a kill response. The thing did not have a fear or flight response to the cops gun.

The violence of the event didn't stop the cyclist from getting within a foot from the action. And the cyclist was about 40 years of age so he would have been more cautious than most. So the attacker wasn't projecting himself as a crazed animal. The attacker had no response to the cyclist or a response to the gun. Yet it knew how to take off a human's clothes???

After officers kicked the door in, Carter began stabbing himself with the knife and allegedly threw bits of his skin and intestines at officers before attempting to swing the knife at them. Officers sprayed two cans of pepper spray at the man in an attempt to subdue him, to no effect. He was finally overpowered when SWAT teams arrived, and was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery and psychiatric evaluation. He is currently in critical condition.
