Play of the year? Doesnt he do this once a game? Well maybe I'm exaggerating but he does it fairly often.

But it was a really smooth fake. Froze Wade up a little, and had Haslem looking for the invisible man...lol...

Have you watched the games since your team was knocked out of the playoff?
Rondo is the MAN and the brain of the team now, he brings youth and energy back to the 3 old future HOFs.
I will not discredit how great KG and PP's play recently, but obviously Rondo is leading the team with no doubt.

It's amazing how times Rondo gets that to work. It's a great fake, but it's not the play of the year. It's probably not even Rondo's play of the year. I liked when he leaped and caught Lebron's outlet pass.

Rondo is once again putting together a hell of a post season.

But back to the fake. I don't understand why opposing coaches don't just show their players a loop of Rondo doing that move like 100 and then say, if you bite on that fake, I'll pull you out of the game, if he actually does go behind his back, it's on me and I'll take the blame.

Do the Boston writers have a name for that move? I say we call it the Rondo Mondo.

I really wish that Pete played when I could have watched him. When Jason Williams was a rookie, I was really hoping he would pan out to be a Pistol Pete type guy because of his handles, but he never panned out to be a star.

Your insecurity regarding Rondo and your hero CP3 is hilarious. Almost everyone thinks Paul is great yet you can't let this thread slide without bringing Paul up. Rondo and Paul both made clever, skillful plays and both can probably pull off the move the other one did. Let it go.

Multiple people saying play of the year, layup of the year etc is what that was in response too. I have no problem letting Rondo get his shine. Just want people to remember that other plays similar have happened this year. Too many people around here are prisoners of the moment and fickle as ****. How many times a year do we get threads saying "Okay now THIS PG is the best in the game officially" etc.

Don't get me wrong... I impulse post and overreact too but I was just showing a similar enough play.

Then why didn't you post a play from another team on par with play of the year like Gallo's pass to Faried

You have a problem dude seriously you do. Every thread you look for opportunities... even when they aren't there to rep your team

The sad thing everyone knows you love your team and you're a loyal fan, but you are a near intolerable poster to the degree that if other fans liked your team or the players on them you cause them to hate them

Be more objective or STFU

I think the Gallo pass was great.... but this was the only play I could think of that was remotely similar in terms of a fake finish layup of this difficulty. I would of definitely posted a Kobe clip for example if he did something similar. I think you're assuming the worst of me here. :confusedshrug:

The other link I dropped was of Rondo doing a 360 then wrap around pass to Ray Allen on GSW which actually chits on the CP3 play.

How was Rondo's not due to "intelligence"? He fakes a move on a play (drive and kick to KG) that he runs all the time because he knows he will be able to freeze Haslem.

By the way, that CP3 move is nothing special. It's nothing more than a between the legs dribble and lay-up. The defender doesn't even fall for it...

no pun intended
06-02-2012, 08:28 PM
Are we really debating which layup is better? I admit that I was just overreacting when I said "Play of the Year." Nonetheless, it's great seeing that you guys are posting other fantastic layups which makes it all enjoyable.
