View Full Version : Stern just rigged game two of the finals!

By bringing in Dan Crawford his top secret enforcer. In D-Wade era, Heat are 14-3 (.824) in playoffs when he refs, 48-40 (.545) all others.

14-3... 82%

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/14698/dan-crawford-the-heat-and-the-1-9-percent

Adding up their point spread-based win probabilities across all 16 games, the Heat should have won about nine games on average. Even more, given the point-spread based probability of winning each game, the chance that Miami would go 13-3 or better in those 16 games is 1.9%. Statisticians generally use a cut-off of 5% or lower for statistical significance, so this would be indicative that this trend goes beyond what would be reasonable by random chance.

WOW. :wtf:

I doubt it matters at this point. Stern put the spotlight on himself, by making himself look guilty on the Rome show. People are talking about the issue now more than ever. Even if they are questionable calls tonight for the Heat, that'll just make it even worse. At this point, I think the league can no longer help the Heat though. This Thunder team is playing at such a high level, virtually every single call in these games, from now on til the end of the Finals, would have to favor the Heat for them to stand a chance. If you make it that obvious, you're done. IMO, the Heat are on their own now, refs or no refs.

Miami's big 3 took a lot of jumpshots. That's why they didn't shoot as many free throws. And the refs made three huge bad calls in Miami's favor in the 4th quarter.

Dan Crawford, can't stand that ref. Whenever he's around certain teams get beneficial calls. He always seems to be in the middle of controversial calls. He's not the only one, but he's the most well known of the probable crooked refs. If the Thunder get ahead of themselves, the refs will make it easy for the heat to stay close. But most likely the Thunder will just keep the game close until the 4th and kill the heat.

lol dumb ass, thunder had more dunks, more layups, more points in the paint and more shot attempts in the paint.

I never look at the free throw disparity and draw a conclusion. I actually WATCH games.

Miami's big-3 have always been favored by the refs (heck, even Joel Anthony gets away with a lot of fouling, and Chalmers & Battier get away with flopping), but I do acknowledge that OKC's big-3 are not that far behind.

Still, we are only talking about game 1, and looking at the free throw disparity and saying that it was rigged is for those who didn't watch the game.

Miami's big 3 took a lot of jumpers (see the other threads where Miami fans bitch about Wade's stupid shot selection, etc.), and the OKC players attacked the basket more. If we are gonna talk about the errors that the refs made, we need to remember the 2-3 big calls made in Miami's favor in the 4th quarter that allowed them to stay in the game longer than they would have with correct officiating.

And no, I'm not Bladers. I don't need to be someone else to call out an idiot like yourself.

Let's do some simple math for you.

If you drive to the basket 10 times, but you get fouled on 6 of them, in the stats it only shows up as 4 attempts in the paint, even though there was really 10.

Say out of those 4 that counted you maybe miss one of those layups. The stats will say you only scored 6 points in the paint.

A stat sheet can easily say that a team had only 4 attempt in the paint for only 6 points in the paint, but in reality they really had more than double that amount of attempts and 12 free throw attempts for let's 10 more points.

Points in the paint and attempts in the paint don't by themselves show which team attacked the basket more.

Why? Because Battier flops like a bitch?

The charge is one of the biggest BS plays in all of basketball.

You know durant should have fouled out much earlier right

if lebron was held to the same standard, so would of he

guy gets called for less fouls than any superstar in history, while playing highly aggressive (i.e. getting away with murder) defense

Don't be stupid, the game wasn't rigged. And if it was, they did a terrible job since Miami had to win on a last second call.

If you insist on complaining, then go back to that ridiculous goaltending call in the first half. That's one of the worst calls I have ever seen.

Except if it was LeBron instead of KD on that play, you would be saying it's rigged and LeBron never get's called for any foul. And BTW, that play wasn't even a flop. Harden flopped like hell on LeBron, thankfully the refs didn't call it though.

They never call those type of fouls at the end of games. NEVER.

except if you are any heat player

I don't know what why people are surprised. Dudes almost blew the game even with ref help though.

That's part of it. Take those two points away and it would have been a tied game in the final seconds.

Durant should have gotten that f*cking call. Wade would be bitching for 30 minutes if that happened to him.

:oldlol: Wade would still be on court scowling at the refs long after the crowd went home.

Shit happens, get over it. If Oklahoma City is truly the better team--and it certainly looks that way--they'll steal a game or two down in Miami and finish this series off at home.

IMO, that was the best shot the Heat could throw at OKC and they still almost lost. Heat lead the entire game, and it shouldn't have come to a last second call. If it takes OKC to play terrible for the Heat to win a game they lead all the way, the Heat are in some serious trouble.

no way refs shouldve called that foul in that situation, especially when kd still got a great look on the shot. he couldve made that he just didnt.

Exactly. Oklahoma City basically beat themselves by coming out flat and playing with no discipline. Once they calmed down and started moving the ball they were clearly the better team. A lot of this falls on Westbrook's shoulders. When he's playing with his head on straight the Thunder roll. He's gotta do that for four quarters.

I think if you start the game giving up an 18-2 lead, crying foul about a blown call in clutch minutes is the least of your problems. OKC has been doing this all playoffs long. Falling asleep and letting the other team build a lead, and then they make a furious comeback. It was bound to catch up with them. They should consider playing hard from the start for a change.

Yeah, they didn't help themselves tonight at all. You can't always wait til the last 2 quarters to make a run either. I still see OKC as the better team as well. The Heat have nothing to be celebrating cuz the Thunder are one of the best road teams this year. Like I said before, the Heat are in trouble and the longer this thing goes, it favors OKC.

I wouldn't say they fell asleep... they came out with too much energy and it backfired on them. Westbrook in particular looked like a chicken with its head cut off in that first quarter.

Pretty much the only way I see Miami winning is if LeBron, Wade, or Bosh puts their imprints on this series. Hasn't happened yet, not sure it will.

This is hilarious.

People complaining about this, but when Wade got hit in the eye last year in the finals by Dirk on that potential game winning 3, haters laughed at the fact he asked for the call.

Now though, you rally behind anyone against the Heat. LOL.

refs will watch the tape of that blatant missed call and repay them with a win in game 3.

Would of been interesting to see what would of happened with a tie game, shot clock off, and miami ball.

They don't have it in them, so I don't see it happening either. The Heat didn't do anything that spectacular tonight. They didn't stop KD or Westbrook, which is what they need to do to win. If OKC plays well, the Heat are simply going to lose. There's no doubt in my mind about that.

....keep looking cuz last time I checked both KD and Westbrook shot like sh*t in the first half. Simply cuz they stopped attacking the rim, and settled for jumpshots. Not to mention turning the ball over on dumb shots and plays. As seen in Game 1, once they attack the basket, they score and open up the floor. That was KD and Westbrook stopping themselves, more than anything else. So....like i said keep looking. Oh yeah, you do realize that the heat lead the entire game and STILL only won by 4? I'd simply shut the hell up if I were you:facepalm
