Lie # 1: If you threw a clock into a black hole event horizon it will move slower and stop because time doesn't exist in a black hole.

Truth: That is pure nonsense. If you were in a spacecraft and traveled towards the event horizon of a black hole. If someone else was watching your space craft from a far distance away. As you move closer and closer to the horizon. To them it looks like you never actually reached the horizon. The illusion is that the light your spacecraft emits is taking longer and longer to reach them. So to them its as if you never reached it, though from your point of view you reached it and passed right into it.

I remember reading through a bit of " a brief history of time", and time is a complicated concept. At one point I had a hard time wrapping my head around some of the books concepts and I never did finish it. That was a couple years ago though, I really should give it another look.
