Reports are that Odom has been seen having lunch twice with Vinny Del Negro this week and another time has been to the Clippers facility. Which compelled Dan Woike a Clippers beat writer to write this article.

I say HELL YES if the guy gets his mind right. He would be a superb addition. The Clippers need more do it all type bigs who can play D, score, pass, shoot etc. Odom IF he can focus and stay motivated would be huge. At times the team can run Odom+Griffin heavy minutes at the 4 and 5 too.
What are your thoughts on this?

He's going to the Lakers. Probably using the Clippers as leverage. Did the exact same thing with Miami back in 2009.

No hard feelings between Clipper Nation and Odom? I thought he burned a bunch of bridges when he left.
Also, I'd rather see him there if he's not coming back to the Lakers. He's a great player (when his head's on straight) and I miss him in LA.

He did burn some bridges with his drug problems, laziness etc..... but the entire front office+players have changed besides Roeser+Sterling. So it would be a pretty fresh start probably. That was back when Sterling didn't give a shit about anything.

Odom would be a good fit on the Clippers provided he's anything close to where he was in 2010-11. Seemed like with the Clippers bigs is that everyone would pack the paint because Griffin, Jordan, Martin, and Reggie can't shoot at all really. Odom can actually stretch the floor at the PF position, but the problem is that Blake would be playing center.

is he allowed to meet with other teams, he is still currently under contract with Dallas.
Can Dwight Howard then go and talk with another team while under contract with Orlando?
But I don't see what he did to burn any bridges? I mean, okay, the drug thing, he got popped for that, did his time. Should be over and done with.
And its not like he spurned the clips to sign with Miami. Miami did a pretty legit bait and switch on em. They signed EB to a huge free agent contract, Clipppers matched. Then Miami signed LO to a free agent contract knowing that the clips just put a ton of money into a forward. Boom, he goes from LA to Miami
But I would rather the Clips go after Kenyon Martin than LO. But LO would give them a big who can do stuff their other bigs can't, mainly play on the perimeter and handle the rock

You don't know shit dude. Lamar compared the Clippers to hell and begged them not to match. That's what they're talking about when they mentioned burned bridges. He wasn't lazy and then still wanted to sign him after his weed issues.
DTS and Roser ARE THE FRONT OFFICE, Elgin was just a figurehead. Lots of Clippers admins and executives are along time employees and are still there.
I think Odom would definitely help the Clippers with his rebounding, passing, jump shot, occasional 3, and ability to handle the rock and drive.

When we drafted him in 99... the Clippers WERE hell. In the early 00's the team had nothing but turmoil in the front office and even on the court. I focused on the drug problems+lazy play and underachieving because they were to blame for the separation (outside of Sterling being frugal). You mentioning comments he made has nothing to do with him not being on the Clippers anymore. Just like Andre Miller... he talked a bunch of trash about the Clippers but the real reason he is arguably the most hated Clipper of all time is because we traded the promising Darius Miles for him.

I'm not debating whether his comments were legit or not, but his comments burned bridges, not the drug issue or laziness. As I said... him talking trash may have burned bridges with fans but that's NOWHERE near responsible for the separation which is more important in this context. I wasn't listing ALL of what he did wrong. Laziness, drugs, contract size (Sterling frugal) were significantly bigger reasons he was not brought back then him making dickish comments.
Haha... I told you I have been a fan only a few years? Prove it jackass. I've been a fan since 98-99. If you can prove I said I've only been a fan for a few years I'll never post on this account again. I guess you don't know what "burning bridges" means. You cited as the first 2 reasons- drug issues and laziness. Those 2 things didn't burn bridges because they still wanted to match. Since you're too stupid to even look it up, it means to destroy a preexisting relationship as you leave.
Extremely invested fans don't avy bet against their team like you did- b!tch ass move.

 . So you're the douchebag I almost banned on CTB. You really need to move on with this whole thing about me betting against the Clippers. That's not the context it happened in and you need to worry about your own loyalty to the team..
I said "I know he burned bridges" and gave a couple examples, leaving out some which I just gave you a few posts back. Unfortunately for you... you think you're going to somehow "expose" my loyalty and take a cheapshot at me here out of the blue but in turn just made yourself look like a royal jackass with no leg to stand on. You can't provide any evidence that I told you I've been a fan only a few years because it doesn't exist.
I can talk to you all day about Cherokee Parks, Sean Rooks, Michael Olowokandi, Tyrone Nesby, Keith Closs, Eric Piatkowski, Jeff McGinnis, Troy Hudson, Mo Taylor, Lorenzen Wright.... etc guys you probably didn't watch from before 2000 and after. So as I said... I'm the WRONG guy to puff your chest out at when it comes to Clippers talk.

Odom+Evans>Kmart+Odom.
People forget Kmart had a couple incidents with the coaches for being pulled out of games in the playoffs. He is NOT returning. He wants more money and more minutes than we can give him. Besides Odom and Kmart are kind of duplicates in the sense that they both do many things well. Evans on the other hand is purely a rebound specialist who has no problem with 2 minutes or 20 minutes.

I don't understand why people like yourself feel the need to fabricate things to bash on Clippers fans. Nor to deny the fact that the Clippers are arguably the hottest spot to play right now in the NBA right after the Heat. Maybe there is something to the sources all claiming people want to play here right now with Griffin+CP3? What's so hard to believe? Play in a big city, great weather, great nightlife.. with a deep team with two superstars?
Jamal Crawford was almost traded to the Clippers last February. Dwight "supposedly" has the Clippers on his wishlist. Gerald Wallace has been coveted by the Clippers for years and is unrestricted. Ray Allen almost got traded to the Clippers last year and supposedly would prefer the Heat or Clippers. Odom was SEEN having lunch with Vinny twice this week and coming out of Playa Vista facility.
None of this is unfounded or fans just talking out of their ass. There is a reason for all of the talk by the fans. Maybe you need to realize that this is a new era and players WOULD LOVE to come to the Clippers. Caron Butler chose the Clippers over the freaking SPURS. Sure we paid him an extra 1.5 mill a year but he loved what the team had here. Maybe people are making it seem like the organization is much worse than it really is?

His obviously still has the skill to drop at least 12 points and 6 rebounds on any given night. His versatility is still there too but I was very dismayed watching him with Dallas. His family comes before everything and being in Dallas, which is clearly not LA, hurt him deeply. He also experienced family and close friend deaths within that time frame which is a large reason why he disliked being in Dallas.
I can expect him to be fully mentally and physically recovered next NBA season and he could definitely be a great fit with LAC. He will have a great PG like CP3 to get him easy buckets too.

I can see Odom playing well with the Clippers [w/ his mind right]. They'll add a skillful ~7 footer to their roster, preferably in the starting line-up. I'd prefer seeing him on the Lakers, but Clippers are the next best option. Still a SoCal team.

Depends on how much he wants and what contracts they can move out for him. They could possibly amnesty Gomes, or trade him along with a pick to a rebuilding team (like what the Lakers did when sending out Luke Walton to the Cavs, package him with a draft pick).

I remember halfway into that 2002 season, everyone was already playing for a new contract. Guys would ballhog and statpad because 3/4 of em were in the last year of their deals. Andre Miller, QRich, Odom, Brand, with Maggette coming off the bench was a nice team wish they would've done better.

No, I'm just laughing at the fact that your trying to act like the Clippers really want the Lakers sloppy seconds, when in fact, it was the other way around recently (Blake, Radman, Barnes) and Laker fans were all ecstatic about the signings while Clipper fans, at best, are 50/50 on this. Shit, I'd prefer dealing for Dudley or signing James Singleton to Odom anyway

damn cf u aint feeling no confidence in deandre or what? vdn gotta stop jerking the kid around...let him go after it. i get yall tryin to win big...still yall gave him that contract and he was watching kenyon play a lot of 4th quarters. when the game slowin down to half court u gotta trust cp3 gonna get some good looks for deandre takin some pressure off the kid
DJ deserved to be benched for 4th quarters for his stupid ass, costly decisions. If he's better this year, he can avoid that. Odom is going to be first big off bench, not starter if he comes here. That being said... when DJ is acting stupid he can be benched for Odom like he was for Kmart in the playoffs.

Haha watch him enough and you'll get frustrated too. Dude has so many physical gifts but can't do simple things. Watching him get punked for rebounds by guards multiple times a game makes me want to fu**ing punch him. I mean he has PG's come up and rip rebounds out of his damn hands! Needs to get tougher and stronger. If I was a 7 footer allowing that kind of sh** I'd feel so disgraced.
Then he gets a pass when wide open and fumbles the ball out of bounds etc. It's the little things like this he does at costly times that pisses Clippers fans off. I agree he needs another year or two to prove himself and I haven't given up on him but dude has a lot of learning to do.

Mavs reporter tweeted tonight that last week Odom was given permission to shop himself and he has met with Clippers. Now let's see what happens.

I just think this young team doesn't need this distraction.
So many other options than this goose out there for them.

He loves LA to death so I think if Clippers do get him and he gets in shape he'll be a great asset off the bench for you guys. Chris Paul and Griffin are great guys to be around and I am sure he'll get along just fine and chemistry would be better than with the Mavs. For some reason I just think Odom didn't feel at home with the Mavs and never felt as being part of the team. To top that off all the things that happened to him that year...tough.

Clippers need a versatile big. He's the epitome of that. Bigger problems like GM search though to stress about for Clippers fans. David Griffin of Cavs pulled out and Clippers showing zero urgency. They have only interviewed Kiki and free agendy and draft are this week! Such a shitty organization at the top.

Clippers are a tight knit group like the Thunder who hang out a ton off the court. I just wonder of Griffin wants him after Odom's been a dick to him a few times.

One sip and all is forgotten. I can assure you. Not that there was ever really an issue.

Haha probably true. Odom will learn that Griffin is actually a great teammate, leader and hard worker.

I think he was overrated on the Lakers. Perfect system for him, and he was coached masterfully.
Since then he has aged, declined mentally and physically, wont be playing in triangle, and VDN is the coach.
I just wouldn't go there.
If they ahve the mid level, I'd offer it to Jeff Green first. NOt sure if its enough, might be with his heart problem. Maybe Shawne Williams or Ilyasova.
Mo Williams may yet opt out, I dont think he has announced decision.
Foye, Martin, Evans, Young and Billups are unrestricted.
They have no first rounder.
They have no GM.
They need their crap together FAST, or they will be behind 8ball quickly.

We need the DJ that was here the beginning of the year. It seems his confidence and IQ went in the sh!tter once Kmart came aboard. Once VDN started playing Kmart more in the 4th Deandre just regressed into a tard for some reason.

Man the Mavs did everything in there power to make Odom feel part of the team Odom just didn't want to be, Odom could have been in New Orleans but was sent to Dallas and still wasn't happy, I know he went throught some things last summer but if was the that upset why not take the season off?...Odom forced a trade to Dallas and took the season off and still got paid for it and that's sad.I wish nothing bad on Odom but he STOLE money from the Mavs and what goes around comes around.

Mavs did a great job.... it was all Odom. He needed to take a while from basketball to get his mind right and clearly is mentally weak and fragile. Apparently he's set on LA so I think that will factor in to better play. What Odom did to the Mavs wasn't classy and wasn't right though.

I agree DJ looked confidence and dominant at times early in the season. Remember he opened the season with 8 freaking blocks vs Golden State. I agree that when we got Evans and K-Mart he looked shook and lost confidence but that's HIS problem, not the Clippers. He needs to get physically and mentally stronger.
