By the way, I tend to agree with TJ. I don't see Kobe deferring to anybody, and at this point that's only going to hurt the Lakers. Kobe's a problem for only one reason. Not production, or any imagined ball hog-ery. Not PER, FG% or usage rate.

The problem is his enormous salary. That is also what led to Shaq getting dumped in favor of Kobe in 2004. It's not that they aren't worth the money, they are. More to the point of the article, TJ Simers is very biased but in general I think Kobe needs to step back a bit and make better use of his team mates. He still tries too hard to win games by himself but he doesn't have the stamina to finish anymore. He needs to conserve energy so he's ready for the 4th. Last year he was very un-clutch because he was tired in the 4th quarters. Potato head's rotation (heavy minutes for Kobe) and "system" only made matters worse.
